I'm clearing my inbox of previous drabble requests this weekend, so I'm daring to open my requests for more.

For this celebration, I want to give something to the wonderful people who follow me! As such, this event is open only for my followers, and you must send the request from a logged-in account. Like everything else on my blog, this event is for 18+ only.

Oh hehehe, I knew immediately where this was going. Thank you so much, Navy!

The lights turned on so suddenly that had you not been in Steve's firm embrace, you would've jumped. But he was holding you against his warm, wide chest, and didn't make a single move to stop doing so - and you didn't want him to, not with the kiss still tingling on your lips.

Your gaze followed his to the doorway of what had, prior to the lights turning on, been a terrifying mission in a very-likely-haunted-for-real mansion. When you saw Natasha Romanoff, Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson standing there with smug expressions, it all clicked into place.

"You know, you could've just talked to each other, and saved us from the trouble," Nat said with her brow raised and a smirk on her face.

Hehehehe. I feel like in addition to happily ever afters, idiots in love and Cap Quartet shenanigans are my brand.

Ohh, Darsy dear, thank you!

Seeing your smile was the best part of the entire ordeal. Sure enough, Steve might've been fresh out of ice but he wasn't delusional -- you were smiling at him because it was a part of your job. But every time he came for these horrendous appointments that had been insisted upon by the medical team, you greeting him from your front desk and signing him in to wait for his therapist made him feel a little less frozen inside.

Maybe, someday, when they finally decided to acknowledge that he was fine and he would no longer have to come here, he could ask if you'd like to get coffee. When he could be sure it'd not make you uncomfortable.

(This man is not fine. But he will be.)

"I think life is a little bit like that," you finally said, keeping your gaze somewhere off the horizon as you hugged your knees, sitting next to him.

Cole breathed out in relief -- he hadn't meant to get so carried off with his explanation on the effect of different crop rotation techniques in the history of farming, but the way you had looked at him, your beautiful eyes sparkling with curiosity, had made it impossible to stop.

"Like crop-rotation -- how so?"

"Well, what I meant was" you said, turning your gaze back to him with a tentative smile on your face, "that no matter how you plan for the next year, there's just so much that's up to fate about the right conditions."

When your little finger brushed against the side of his palm, his heart was so full it could barely fit in his chest.

Awww. They are adorable.

Hi @hawthorne-bias, thanks for sending the prompt. The lyric you sent is from Taylor's song Death By A Thousand Cuts that is on the album Lover. I had to google too.

You were a ghost in Steve's bed; the rational side of him knew that he couldn't hear your breathing from where you now slept, another part of the compound.

But he had memorized its patterns, and on nights like this, when all the constellations of your touches on his skin were aching, he heard it almost as well as he could feel your warmth next to him.

He reached out, finding an empty side of the bed where you should be sleeping -- he'd never found it in him to move to the center of the bed.

It was a good decision, he tried to tell himself, it was for the best, the rational thing to do to ensure you wouldn't be harmed because of him - emotionally or physically. He had chosen to keep you safe, and yet, it didn't feel like righteousness -- it felt like profound stupidity.

I hope you like it! Also I'm making the executive decision that this is angst with a happy ending so they get back together.

You hugged the tray onto your chest, blinking as you tried to understand what was happening. Captain Rogers was standing among the shards of glass and spilled drinks, paying no attention to them at all despite the expensive-looking leather shoes he was wearing with his suit. Instead, he was leaning over your patron, his eyes brimming with dark fury. That kind of expression should’ve terrified you on the face of any man, let alone someone of his power and standing, and yet something deep in your bones whispered that he would never hurt you.

“You will apologize to her,” Captain Rogers said, and it was almost a growl as it grumbled from the depths of his wide chest.

Which babe would be most charmed by an easily flustered sweetheart?

Oh hmm, what a fun question! I can actually see this with multiple babes, just a little different ways.

Steve Rogers can be a bit awkward himself, so he would appreciate the safe space created by her being like that, too. And once their relationship progresses and he gets more comfortable, I can definitely see him being a little shit and whispering filth into her ear at Tony's party just to see her lose all coherence.

Cole Turner would find that attractive - he's such a sweetheart himself and he'd probably love it that he causes such a visible reaction in her. It'd also tell him about her feelings, which'd make him swell with pride.

Jake Jensen, the absolute ray of sunshine that he is, would take her under his wing and helicopter around her to make sure she's alright. He'd love seeing her get more and more comfortable with him. And I can definitely see a romance being born out of that.

And a wildcard but Andy Barber. He is such a traditional, stoic man, and I could definitely see how he'd connect being flustered to femininity and be attracted to that. It would make for a situation where he's the one that is her rock, and I can see that really working for him.

Wildcard round part one for Starry Winter Sky: do you have any cut scenes or extra headcanons for Mission-Induced Arrhythmia? I love that one so much. Wonderful use of the fake-marriage trope, just the right balance between angst and fluff. Amazing.

Oh, Mission-Induced Arrhythmia (AO3, Explicit, Steve Rogers x Reader), my very first longfic! Haven't though about that one in a while, so it was fun to return to it, thank you for sending in this question - and for the lovely compliments.

Under the cut for obvious MAJOR spoilers for Mission-Induced Arrhythmia. (Warnings: Pregnancy mentions, mentions of medical risks involving pregnancy, discussion of emergency C-section).

I initially wrote another version of the medical scene in Chapter 13. Instead of Doc helping Charlie, the little boy, with a punctured lung, the first version had a pregnant neighbor and an emergency C-section that Doc performed right there on site. I cut it out because I couldn't make it work out in a medically plausible way (as I wanted the scene to have a happy ending). I don't have the scene anymore, but it involved the neighbors using a Doppler Fetal Monitor out of which they detected distressed heartbeats and alerted Doc to help, and she had Steve help her do the C-section right there in their bathroom, with the main road blocked. I initially thought the neighbors were going to name the happy, healthy baby Sophia. But the logistics just didn't work out.

In between the last chapter and the epilogue, I imagine that the operation at the Larnean Hospital continued for some time, to ensure all evil was rooted out. During this time, Doc had a change to talk things out with Tremblay. While they'll never be besties, they arrived at a place where they respect each other as medical professionals, and Tremblay apologized for letting his personal issues cloud his judgment when it came to Doc.

While Thomas, who was blackmailed into the operation, still went to prison, Steve made sure that Thomas' mother, who was financially dependent on Thomas, would be alright.

A little over a year after their engagement, Steve and Doc had a small, intimate fall wedding at a beautiful nature location, I think somewhere in Maine or Colorado or similar. It was a very traditional wedding in terms of dress, food, and ceremony.

After Steve and Doc got married and Doc got a bit more work experience (and finished her residency), I imagine they started working together at The Avengers Initiative, with Doc helping Steve plan any missions that required medical knowledge. She would also oversee some of the cross-specialty training that Steve mentioned wanting to start - so the agents getting some science education, the scientists getting some agent training.

Steve and Doc had three children, twin sons (Anthony Samuel & James Grant) and a daughter (Sarah Natalia Isabel) in that order, a few years into being married. They continued living in the house we saw in the epilogue even as a family. Steve spent a few years during that time as a stay-at-home dad, still assisting the AI with planning and leading some very high-profile cases. As exhausting as those years occasionally were, Steve cherished them from the bottom of his heart, and him staying home allowed Doc to focus on her research.

Izzie and Matt also continued to work with The AI and live on campus, and continued being a part of the lives of Doc, and Steve.

If you would cast any other CE character in any of your Steve fics who would it be, why and which fic?

Ohh, what a fun question, Jaqui! I had to actually think about this one for a bit but then it was obvious:

I would cast Jake Jensen into the role of the Head of the IT Department of the Avengers Initiative (so he'd be in Odds and Swan and other works in AI-verse)! I feel like he'd be such a great guy to work with, and out of all the CEvans characters (that I'm familiar with), I feel like Jake would be the one Steve would get along with easiest.

I could also see Ari as a military commander in Emperor Rogers' army, though!
