opinion: im not a fan of describing or headcanoning pokemon characters as “white”, even if theyre from regions that are based off countries with a majority white population. Bc “whiteness” as a label for race was specifically created in the context of racialized slavery, and there is no mention of that in pokemon history.

Like even though unova was geographically inspired by new york, the region existed for thousands of years and was created by a king and his dragon. Thats not how new york was made guys
