A small bay tree was caught stealing sunlight from the sprouts at the nursery. At the investigation, he arrogantly insisted that he hoarded the sunlight because phototropism is his natural instinct and all the light in that room was his again and again, so he was given the penalty ASAP.

I was wondering how many people would think that. I'm sure you aren't the only one who did. Especially since I stayed in character the whole day.

It's definitely the most effort I've ever put into an April Fools prank. I got the idea for it last April Fools and collected posts for it sporadically over the year (even though I mostly ended up using more recent posts because Kofu became a bigger part of straycatj). I even got Neff @fudemushi to rewrite the Japanese text in the posts to make it be about plants instead of cats (and they also helped me rewrite the bio) AND I completely changed my blog+theme to match straycatj's right down to the exact color and template.

I'm going to post side by side comparisons between the parody and the original posts because I think they are actually much funnier when you see them side by side.
