My most recent stroller friendly discovery, the Cherry Hill Gate Trail/ Grindstone Marshes Trail, Burlington ON an extension of the Royal Botanical Garden. Admission was free, parking I’m told was suppose to cost $1 to $3 but the meter was out of order so it ended up being a 0 cost adventure. So many little critters: chipmunks, ducks, this mysterious bird with a really tall neck, cardinals, blue jays, and several other birds I couldn’t name. I haven’t seen so many blue jays in one spot. Swamps, marshes, lush greenery, pretty wild flowers, Cherry Gate was actually closed part way through but didn’t matter as we found ourselves on some other fork in the road that lead us elsewhere enjoyable. Spent a couple hours there and still didn’t get to every path. The Ontario Pathway is a large rail to trail network with 25 miles of trails in Ontario County. This is a flat trail that stroller friendly and easy to walk. There are benches every so often for those who need to take a break. There are numerous trails across the county but the one that really stands out is the Phelps stretch of the Ontario Pathways, because of the waterfalls. gorge walk at point lookout, north stratbroke island. marveling at ocean views and wildlife abound.

the bushland and waters surrounding the north gorge walk are teeming with wildlife. you can watch kangaroos and seabirds galore, and under the right conditions the clear water allows to spot turtles, dolphins and manta rays. due to its exposed location this area is also considered the best vantage point on stratbroke island to watch humpback whales pass in their mígration season (between june and november).

the 1,5 km long hike offers stunning vistas over gorges and beaches. it is easiliy accessible and safe to walk with little kids, a fenced boardwalk with wooden stairs and bridges forms a picturesque, conveniently walkable loop (not strollerfriendly though!)

im busch und im wilden wasser tuemmelt es hier nur vor tieren: an land kann man kaenguruhs und zahlreiche meeresvoegel beobachten, im klaren wasser des ozeans lassen sich unter den richtigen bedingungen oft schildkroeten, delfine und mantarochen erblicken. wegen seiner exponierten lage gilt dieses areal darueber hinaus auch als bester aussichtspunkt der insel, um buckelwale in der migrationssaison zu beaobachten (zwischen juni und november).

der 1,5 km lange rundweg bietet zahlreiche, spektakulaere ausblicke ueber felsschluchten und straende. er ist durchweg gut erschlossen, gesichert und umzaeunt, der bohlenweg mit seinen hoelzernen bruecken und aussichtsplattfomen ist huebsch anzusehen und auch mit kindern leicht zu erwandern (wegen der vielen stufen allerdings nicht buggyfreundlich!).

exploring hong kong with a kid was pretty easy,  thanks to the largely stroller-friendly and clean canopied skywalks, elevators and moving walkways and the good connections to a likewise clean, safe and strollerfriendly metro- and train hub. even when it rained we could walk and explore without getting wet. loved that! // hong kong lässt sich echt gut mit nem kleinkind erkunden,  nicht zuletzt wegen der weitestgehend buggy-geeigneten und sauberen überdachten skywalks, rolltreppen und laufbänder und der guten anbindung an ein ebenso sauberes, sicheres und buggygeeignetes metro - und zugsystem <3. so konnten wir auch im regen die stadt trockenen fusses erkunden. mega!
