#struggling to wrap my head around the /pf/ phoneme because i also cannot tell if i’m saying that one right

me, at 2 am, testing out the /ç/ and /x/ phonemes that german has to myself:
#i sound like i’m making weird snarling noises#can’t tell if i’m doing it right#i’m determined to put elements of other west germanic languages in hallownestian#but i only know english and german is currently easiest to pull from#so#lol#i think the problem is that i’m pronouncing the phonemes on their own#and not in an actual word#so i’m just going /xxxxxxxxx/#which comes out as a snarl#i don’t know hjvhgfjd#struggling to wrap my head around the /pf/ phoneme because i also cannot tell if i’m saying that one right#though i won’t have to worry about that one since i’ve already decided that [p] doesn’t exist for bugs
