Lil Carved Ash Stump is done!! DIMS: 11” Dia. x 18” H Not ready to part w/ this piece yet, but wanted to share... Started on this back in July of 2018. Aside from initially scoring the bottom w/ chainsaw, the rest of rough shaping was all hand chiseled. Didn’t have the tool at the time to smooth it, so I threw it into storage and forgot about it... Eventually I picked up the tool I needed to revisit and finish. Holy Galahad disc by #katools was a game changer! Had a lot of fun and learned a lot from this one that was recently delivered. Didn’t seal it properly and eventually cracked/ checked pretty bad, so gave a shot at carving/chiseling the natural cracks and edges, then an epoxy fill on cracks/voids. Shoutout to @kingarthurtools and the #merlin2 - Most fun tool I’ve used for carving and detail! 👍 A couple more stumps of a similar method coming soon.
