rewatching TVD next up is 5.10 I am enjoying this chunk of s5 more than I remember so that’s nice, rewatching The Magicians for unauthorized rewatch event but behind in the schedule by like 5 eps because live-blogging slows me down I’m on 1.09.

movie: my final project for a global lit class I’m taking is on arguing fairy tales that are retold across cultures and time can be considered global texts so I’m focusing on interpretations of the Red Shoes as well as some general articles and essays about the concept itself and on specific retellings, so I just watched the 2005 South Korean horror film called The Red Shoes and a few days before that I saw the 1945 British film (the other adaptation I’m working with is Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Marie Mclemore which is the book that gave me the idea for the project again Anna-Marie Mclemore is great and you should all read their books tbh psa). tl;dr South Korean horror film called The Red Shoes which was pretty cool.

i hate to poke a hole in your timeline, but I’m pretty sure in 2.07 when tom and greg burned the papers, that was supposed to be march 12, because we know from the dc hearing that that’s when tom emailed greg you can’t make a tomlette etc etc, so my assumption has always been that that was like exactly a year after tom and shivs wedding. also it would make sense if logan’s 80th birthday was in october of 2018, when the show premiered, and then season 3 takes place in 2020 (without covid ofc) because in 3.06 they mention that its 6 months out from the election (unrelated but also this would make kendall canonically a gemini lmao)

I get where you're coming from but here are my counterarguments:

yes, tom sent greg those emails on march 12. however, it's never mentioned that this is on the same day they burn the documents (also the idea of tom sending them during his honeymoon is incredibly funny to me). plus, if you look at the episodes between the wedding and 2.07 there's NO WAY that was a year. they're canonically in the same few months (kendall's comment in iceland, shiv saying how the hamptons was 2 weeks ago in 2.02, and like brenna @toganvorce said in the tags on my post: roman goes to management training in 2.04 and is maybe done by 2.05 and definitely done by 2.06 so we know that's 6 weeks.

3.06 likely takes place around may, 6 months from may is elections time so that tracks. furthermore, succession is a fictional show (duh), and therefore it doesn't neccesarily have to follow the same elections years as we do. so it can be any year, it doesn't have to be 2020.
