I'm just about done with the constant power outages so today I got the first few pieces of my backup system. I still need the big inverter and the batteries but I'm well on my way and I'm so excited. I've wanted to add solar since I bought this place but something else was always more important. Until now, because now I'm losing power in winter and even though my home is well insulated eventually it gets cold. I really don't like the cold. The goal is to get some lights and my furnace blower operational until United Electric plugs the hamster wheel back in. Once I figure this out on my house I have to go and do the same for my parents. This is just what you have to do when the grid is unreliable.
