I don't get where we are going anymore and I am worried honestly... Hoping it's just a phase but in the same time it's still like... It's been a while it's happening now? 😭
I feel like shonen nekketsu from the jump almost all suffer from a curse where it's really good at the beginning and then it start to fall out... I didn't follow that many of them but it's the observation I make when I see other fandom and the few experience I had
This arc remember me what I felt when I watched the central arc in food wars right now
I can't give a global view of the shonen industry because I don't follow many mangas but I wonder if it has something to do with the editor or editorial politics.
i can’t believe that the same person who wrote Maki and Mai’s arc and Higuruma’s arc is the person writing this stupidity. Even vol 0 that was very generic has more dignity than this.
this definitely will be a thing because all this about usa will be an arc.

BLURB:
When a bloddied, secret message destined for the powerful Lord Tiede ends up in the hands of Aren, a young Apprentice serving in the greatest library in all of Cordelacht, his life starts to unravel. A murderer is leaving grisly sacrifices all over the city in the name of Magic, Aren’s little sister starts relaying messages from the gods, and the Lady Tiede becomes a little too familiar with the bumbling Apprentice. As intelligent and handsome as he is naïve, Aren has a gift for saying all the wrong things and stumbling into hopeless situations, like falling into a mysterious scholar with her own hidden agenda.
Now, it’s up to Aren to save Tiede, and to do so he’ll need to rekindle his masochistic relationship with Tiede Wood, the magical and cursed forest that protects the House. Will Aren unmask the monster on the killing spree and finally prove his worth? Or will he succumb to his personal demons, unable to overcome the stigma of being an Unblessed, and die as goodless as he was born? REVIEW: Stars, What did you do to me? I’m suffering from a hangover and my mind are still playing the scenes from the last chapters where the whole Cordelacht/ Tiedans are fighting from the mages and summoned monster.
I want to make this whole review about Aren only, how he’s so amazing, so perfectly handsome, so appealing, alluring, attractive, smart, brave, very ideal brother, and a faithful citizen of Tiede. But of course that’s foul, it will be unfair for the other characters. Let me tell you first all the adjectives about Aren. From the great choice of his name makes me imagine how handsome as God he is. Again, he’s so amazing, so perfectly handsome, so appealing, alluring, attractive, smart, brave, very ideal brother, and a faithful citizen of Tiede. Oh my gosh! I can’t handle my giggles right now because again, he’s so amazing, so perfectly handsome, so appealing, alluring, attractive, smart, and brave. I know I’m very redundant but he’s really so amazing, so perfectly handsome, so appealing, alluring, attractive, smart, and very brave, that I can’t help to repeat it again and again, Lol😅! His green eyes.. Is the most tantalizing pair for me😍. The way he loves and protects little Selina like his own sibling makes my heart melt. They are a siblings goal!
Stars, I think I’m in love with Aren😍😍! Ok fine! Did I said not only Aren will takes all the credits? Let’s go to the Gods and Goddesses. My favorite Gods are Geir and Tanghi because they’re in favor of Kaila and supports her no matter what the circumstance is. Alaric? I’m a bit disliking him for being so possessive. My first impression to Taia is a traitor. I sense that she has that kind of personality. I don’t know if my deduction is right because they’re will be a book 2 and we will find out that in the continuation. Another favorite character is Petraun. Though, he only have few contributions in the story, I still love this cute gnome. He reminds me of the seven dwarfs😂😂. The Gerrit brothers is the coolest buddy and I’m like “I wanna be there sister!” I hated Geyle for being such a whore! (oops! Sorry for the word) You can’t blame me. She’s flirting with Aren. It’s because Lord Vir can’t spare a time with her due to his obligations doesn’t mean she will commit adultery. If I would be a Tiedan, I won’t address her as a Lady because she’s too flirt! flirt! flirt! Urgh… She’s getting into my nerves! The Priestesses are so annoying too. They hated Aren as if he was the most jerkiest guy alive. Why? What on earth Aren done with you girls for you to loathe him? He’s the hero after all (not to mention all the troubles he had been through for the sake of the cordelacht). Nianni, on the other hand, is so cute imagining how she frowned in annoyance everytime Aren make fun of her. We both know that our hero sometimes had this naughty attitude and it makes him hot! 🙊🙊(Don’t ever think I’m pervert).
Ok, enough! I think I’m spilling all what’s in the book. So let’s get narrow it down. The first time I started reading it, I find it hard to put down. I even missed my meals most of the time and staying awake at night. But those hungers and eyebags are all worth it for this kind of book. Those portals, staff, swords, marks, summoned monsters, magics, and curses are what makes me addicted in to it. I remembered how I managed to suppress my shriek that midnight (only It’s because I don’t want to commit a public disturbance because neighborhood are snoring) when I already reached the bottom part and I want more, Some pages please.. 😭😭 The author have no idea that I’m really in the verge of insanity. She turned my world upside down during that moment. But I am so proud of her. As a fellow Filipina, you’re a living proof that there are still someone who is saving our literature.
I ended up giving the story 5/5 without hesitation to think twice. The book and the author deserves it more than ever. I’m still teary-eye, I am so much disappointed because Aren is just a fictional character living in a fictional world. There’s no really chance for us😭😭😭– I’m so doomed! 😖😖

Measles Outbreak in Georgia: Why Can’t the “Ignorance Virus” Be Conquered? – Veterans Today | News – Military Foreign Affairs Policy
See on Scoop.it - COMPARE RISK COMMUNICATION
Health Editor’s Note:  Apparently anti-vaxxers are not just here in the U.S. Ignorance virus is a very accurate name for measles. The cases of measles are seen in adults due to the fact that they were never vaccinated.  Article taken from JAM News….Carol  321 cases of measles have been recorded in between 1-17 January. Experts say the reason for the spread of the disease is that many have not been vaccinated Manana Vardiashvili, David Pipia (Photo, video) Georgia ranks third among the seven European countries with the largest number of measles cases this year. Most of them have been recorded in Serbia, while Ukraine is in second place. The highest mortality rate was recorded in Serbia, where 14 people have died. Three people died in Georgia in 2018, with 2,000-2,200 measles cases detected in Georgia. By January 2019, the situation had worsened – the National Centre for Disease Control has announced that there is a measles outbreak in Georgia. From 1 January to 17 January, in just 17 days, 312 cases of measles were registered in Georgia. “Measles mainly affects the age group from 20 to 40 years. 56-58 per cent of those infected belong to this group. As for the remaining age groups, eight per cent are infected from age 0 to one year, and 14 per cent from one to five years old,” says the head of the National Centre for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, in an interview with Netgazeti. These rates are growing, as a significant part of the population is still not vaccinated. The only thing that can stop measles is the vaccination of these people. In the civilized world, measles has long become a controlled viral infection. Why is Georgia unable to overcome it? Georgia ranks third among the top seven European countries where the number of cases of measles has increased the most, show data from the World Health Organization. Since the beginning of this year, 1,400 cases have been reported, two of which have been fatal. The first case of measles was reported in January when a hospital worker in Guria, Western Georgia, fell ill. The illness later appeared in Adjara and spread throughout most of Western Georgia. Specialists predict that the number of people infected will increase. Those that have not had measles in the past and who are not vaccinated against the disease are most at risk. The National Centre for Disease Control reports that there are about half a million people at risk in Georgia. “Research shows that these are people between 20 and 40 years old. As the number of people who are not vaccinated against measles remains high, the disease will spread,” says Paata Imnadze, the centre’s deputy director. Breakouts of measles in Georgia took place back in 2004 and 2005 as well when 14,500 fell ill and nine died. In 2014 and 2015, four people died from measles. Vaccinations against measles were first introduced in Georgia in 1968. Before that, the disease was popularly known as batonebi [ed. the Georgian word for ‘sirs, masters’] and was treated with folk medicine. Batonebi and anti-vaxxers Fifty-eight-year-old Dali remembers well how she and her sister fell sick with measles: their grandmother hung red velvet curtains on the windows, put red roses in vases and strongly warned the residents of the home not to curse or argue. The children had to sing in order not to anger the batonebi, or masters. The illness took its toll on them – Dali’s hearing suffered, while her sister had trouble with her hearing and vision. “We gave both our children scheduled vaccinations. Considering my own experience, I didn’t want to risk their health,” says Dali. However, in Georgia there are many people that think differently and do not vaccinate their children. Official data has it that 10 per cent of children up to six years of age are not vaccinated in Georgia. Irina Aliashvili is a young mother who has ensured that her three-year-old child receives all the necessary vaccinations. Aliashvili searches for the best doctors and reads up on information pertaining to vaccinations herself. “I didn’t find any reliable information anywhere that supported the idea that vaccinations can give rise to serious complications or illnesses,” Irina said. Nini Tvalavadze is 25 years old. She is the co-founder of the NGO Vaccinations and Risk Factors, which collects and distributes information about the dangers of vaccines. Nini asserts that there are many side effects to vaccines which she herself has experienced: “I began having epileptic attacks when I was five years old, and they continued until I was 18. I was afraid to go outside because I did not know when I would have an attack. The doctors didn’t understand what was the matter with me. Then we realised that it all began with a scheduled vaccination.” Nini’s daughter is three years old, and aside from vaccinations against tuberculosis (BCG) and Hepatitis B, she has not received any scheduled vaccinations. Nini says she gets her information about the dangers of vaccinations from the internet and that she herself studies the cases she has come across. “There was one case where a child received a vaccination and later became autistic. Another child lost an arm after getting polio from a vaccination,” she says. Nini says that, despite the fact that she hasn’t been vaccinated, her daughter is not ill and has a good immune system. Because of this she does not intend to begin vaccinating her in the future either. The Centre for Disease Control denies all claims that vaccinations can cause illness or complications, and attests to the quality of available vaccines. “We only get high-quality European vaccines in Georgia. After the 1990s, there has not been a single case of complications or infections after vaccination,” says Paata Imnadze. Imnadze says there are practically no complications associated with the measles vaccine. “The worst thing that can happen is an allergic reaction, but we have not had such a case to date.” Imnadze says that such cases are very rare, one in a million, and even in these cases a doctor can always act quickly and provide urgent care. Is disinformation to blame? Specialists say there are two reasons behind the epidemic in Georgia: the failure of the 1990s immunisation programme and the subsequent refusal of parents to vaccinate their children afterwards. In 2008 the government planned to have one million people between the ages of 6 and 27 vaccinated. However, only about half of their target was reached. “A media campaign began which attested to the supposed harms of vaccination – even I became afraid. The programme, of course, failed,” says Paata Imnadze. There are several myths in Georgian society pertaining to the use of vaccinations. Many continue to think that vaccinations can cause autism. The greatest harm to regular vaccinations in the world was caused by an article by English scientist Andrew Wakefield in the Lancet journal in 1998 in which he claimed that a measles vaccine was causing autism. It was later proven that the article was paid for and falsified. The journal issued an apology and had the article redacted. However, the lie spread like a virus: the consequences of that article in Europe and the USA have more or less been overcome, but in Georgia it has been difficult. “The Russian propaganda machine took an interest in the topic of vaccination against measles. It has been shown that Russian trolls have been involved in the dissemination of disinformation across European social media and internet sites,” Imnadze says. The Georgian parliament is looking at a bill which will make vaccinations mandatory. Should parents be unable to show a document attesting to their child’s vaccination history, children will not be accepted into schools. The bill was accepted in its first reading. However, the NGO Vaccinations and Risk Factors is gathering signatures to prevent this bill from coming into force. Activists of the movement say they will come out in protest.   Measles Measles is a viral infection that is transmitted via the air. It is easily spread and the risk of infection is particularly high in populous areas. The measles virus causes fever and a rash on the skin and pus in the mouth. Sometimes it causes complications in the form of ear, lung or brain inflammation. According to the World Health Organization, one in 1,000 cases of measles are fatal.   Symptoms should immediately be brought to the attention of a doctor.   Vaccinations against measles are given in two rounds, the first at the age of one and the second at the age of five.   “When a child falls ill before one year of age, this means that the mother did not have immunity against the virus. Before one year of age, the child shouldn’t fall ill. If they do, the illness is hard to treat. That’s why parents whose children are younger than one year old must ensure that they themselves are vaccinated,” Imnadze says.

Lessons for September 13 to 19 (Ordinary 24)
What's ahead in the Bible readings for this week September 13 to 20, 2018 The Twenty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time The Seventeenth Week After Pentecost
This week's image
In the Sunday Gospel lesson, Peter confesses that Jesus is the Christ. When Jesus begins to tell his disciples of the suffering that he will endure, Peter began to rebuke him. Then Jesus said “Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.” I take this passage as a reminder that God uses even flawed people like Peter to do great things.
Gospel and Epistle Lessons
Several of our lessons relate to speech. The Sunday Epistle lesson reminds us that the tongue, though a small part of our body, is like a small rudder controlling a large ship. The Saturday Gospel reading includes the parable of the two sons, in which their speech and their actions diverge. There is more on speech in the complementary Hebrew scriptures.
We are again reminded that “faith, by itself, if it has no works, is dead.… Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith” (from the Friday Epistle reading). The actions of Rahab and Abraham's offering up Isaac are specifically mentioned. The Thursday Epistle lesson mentions five different examples of the faith of the patriarchs as told in Genesis.
In the Sunday passage from James, sets on fire the cycle of nature wasn't clear to me on first reading. Here is what I found in Clark's Commentary on James 3:6
Setteth on fire the course of nature [Greek here] And setteth on fire the wheel of life. I question much whether this verse be in general well understood. There are three different interpretations of it: St. James does not intend to express the whole circle of human affairs, so much affected by the tongue of man; but rather the penal wheel of the Greeks, and not unknown to the Jews, on which they were accustomed to extend criminals, to induce them to confess, or to punish them for crimes; under which wheels, fire was often placed to add to their torments. . . . But is it not possible that by the wheel of life St. James may have the circulation of the blood in view? Angry or irritating language has an astonishing influence on the circulation of the blood: the heart beats high and frequent; the blood is hurried through the arteries to the veins, through the veins to the heart, and through the heart to the arteries again, and so on; an extraordinary degree of heat is at the same time engendered; the eyes become more prominent in their sockets; the capillary vessels suffused with blood; the face flushed; and, in short, the whole wheel of nature is set on fire of hell.… It is true, however, that the rabbins use the term [Hebrew here] gilgal toledoth, "the wheel of generations," to mark the successive generations of men: and it is possible that St. James might refer to this; as if he had said: "The tongue has been the instrument of confusion and misery through all the ages of the world." But the other interpretations are more likely.
This excerpt is from www.godvine.com/bible/james/3-6.
Complementary Series Hebrew Scriptures
There is a theme around speech in our readings this week. The Psalm of preparation begins “I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and my supplications.” The Psalm of response begins “Let my cry come before you, O Lord, give me understanding according to your word.” The Sunday Hebrew Scripture is the third Servant Song for Isaiah, which begins “The Lord God gave me the tongue of a teacher, that I might know how to sustain the weary with a word.”
Our Hebrew Scriptures during the days of preparation concern Rahab, the prostitute who protected the spies Joshua sent to Jericho. On Thursday she hides them among bundles of flax on her roof. On Friday, they escape by lowering themselves from a window in Rahab's dwelling, which was on the outside of the city wall. On Saturday Joshua gives instructions that she and her family (and no one else) should be saved.
The Monday and Tuesday passages from 1 Kings concern disobedience to God. The Monday passage is about King Jeroboam, who was the first king of the northern kingdom after Israel and Judah became separate nations. He instituted religious changes designed to keep the people away from the Jerusalem temple and its priests, who were loyal to Judah. Clearly God did not approve. The Tuesday passage concerns the same unnamed prophet who was sent to Jeroboam. This unnamed prophet is also disobedient to God, and so is also punished.
The Wednesday Hebrew Scripture lesson becomes much clearer when you know that Isaiah is quoting a dialog between Assyria (which is given in quotation marks) and the Lord, whose response is not in quotation marks.
Semi-continuous Series Hebrew Scriptures
We continue reading from Proverbs. Proverbs, according to The Oxford Dictionary of the Bible are short, sometimes witty comments on human life and manners, deriding fools (Proverbs 1:7) or noting consequences (Jeremiah 31:29) or the absurd (Amos 6:12). The Hebrew word can also mean a ‘taunt song’ (Isaiah 14:4).
Here is some additional background, based on the introduction to Proverbs in The New Interpreter's Bible. One difficulty in understanding this book is our Western separation of nature and culture. In the ancient Near East, cosmologies are presupposed. They may be explicit (as in Chapter 1 to 9 of Proverbs) or explicit (as in chapters 10 to 29). Some see in Lady Wisdom evidence of an Israelite goddess whose existence was supressed by the monotheistic editors of the book. Scholars are divided on this question. You can look at the evidence and decide for yourself.

The NFL Isn't Swinging Back to Superstar RBs Anytime Soon
Welcome to the NFL Underground Mailbag. Ask Chris your question about the NFL, general sports, or cultural minutiae at [email protected]. Follow him @HarrisFootball.
Sam P.: Do you think offenses like the Cowboys—where one workhorse running back is featured—are remnants of the past, or will the NFL eventually swing back to workhorses?
Everything goes in cycles. First we aren't wearing shower caps as part of our outfits, then we are, then we aren't again. What makes strategic NFL sense in 2017 will look like the Wildcat in 2027, by which time our robot overlords will control flesh-and-blood quarterbacks via joysticks and rectal implants.
Right now it's hard for you to imagine a pro-football-viewing public that doesn't prefer the five-wide, spread-out offenses of today, but that's only because you don't realize that we're just a couple years away from letting defenders carry homemade implements to snip the Achilles' tendons of opposing receivers. That oncoming trend will simultaneously slow down passing games and indulge in our collective bloodlust. Win-win.
Just gotta break through. Photo by Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
For as long as the NFL remains incredibly pass-happy, though, NFL teams aren't incentivized to build around a single expensive running back. Better to employ a team of interchangeable parts, none of whom carry the full burden of surviving 20-plus car crashes per week.
Frankly, you don't need to be excellent to play running back in the league right now. There are great rushers, but perhaps only…five of them? If that? Most teams have a bunch of meh in their backfields and shuffle them around both to keep them healthy and to lessen the impact when one of them decides he's worth a mint.
As recently as 2012, five running backs eclipsed 300 carries in a single season; six RBs have done so over the four combined seasons since. Ten years ago we used to talk about the Curse of 400! Zeke Elliott was excellent as a rookie—and the only rusher to top 300 totes last year—but he has two possible career paths: one where he's a bell-cow for a few years, gets hurt and/or expensive, and flames out early, and one where the Cowboys prolong his career while also giving sportsball morons an excuse to gripe about the old days.
I guess I do believe that everything old is new again, and eventually NFL offenses will realize they can kill dime defenses with great power rushing like Dallas did last year. When that happens, RBs will be superstars once more—but we're not there yet, and we're probably not close. Wake me when the Achilles' snipping starts.
Taylor C.: I'm curious about John Ross with the Bengals. Do you see him having a similar effect as Tyreek Hill did with the Chiefs last year, or is their only similarity that they can each outrun a train?
On my podcast, one of the most annoyingly incoherent things I regularly say—among many!—is "We can't legislate usage." Especially when it comes to one of the NFL's daffiest franchises, it's impossible to definitively state how John Ross's rookie season will go. A.J. Green gets fed first in Cincinnati, but I just got through talking about how insanely pass-happy the NFL is. Even if Green stays healthy and tops 180 targets, there'll be 400 more available for everyone else.

Ross is probably faster and quicker than Hill. His one year of collegiate dominance featured dozens of highlights showing off ridiculous acceleration and change-of-direction that remind me of Antonio Brown. What's interesting about the Hill/Ross comparison is that each guy had a tough time finding a position: Hill was a too-small running back who gradually shifted to a utility role, while Ross was a corner in his freshman year. As such, neither guy is a finished product, but each is a total game-wrecker with the ball.
The questions about Hill are whether he can become polished enough getting off the line as an outside receiver to become an Odell Beckham–type superstar, and whether the conservative Chiefs will give him the chance; in '16, 27 of his 83 targets were thrown behind the line, making him the screen-heaviest WR in the NFL by percentage.
I have more faith that the Bengals will give Ross more clear-out duties, and that he'll make big plays down the field (whereas last year Hill had only 11 targets that traveled 20 or more air yards). Of course, I can't know whether the Bengals will bomb it to Ross as a rookie any more than the Chiefs did for Hill last year, because—say it with me now—we can't legislate usage.
Mike M.: What's the best concert you've ever been to?
In researching my big music novel, War On Sound, I saw hundreds of shows and talked to dozens of bands. Many of the stories I experienced myself or heard about wound up in the book. Who am I kidding: most of them did. I'm not that creative.
I wish these stories made me look cool (Milla Jovovich once stepped on my foot at a Toad The Wet Sprocket show—hi, I'm old!), but that's not my lot in life.
My standard response to this question has always been: Cracker. This was the mid 90s in Austin, at the long-gone Liberty Lunch. Counting Crows opened, and nobody had ever heard of them, and we thought they were pretty good. (As it turned out, we were probably wrong.) Then Cracker came on.
They rocked, but as the show wore on, it became obvious they couldn't hear themselves very well. David Lowery launched into "Eurotrash Girl," a deep cut hidden on their "Kerosene Hat" record that made me feel cool for knowing it. But the band stopped partway through, and Lowery shouted into the microphone, "These monitors are for shit!" Then he picked up one of the monitors (speakers that face the musicians so they can hear what they're playing or singing) and passed it into the crowd, where we surfed it out over our heads into the middle of the club.
The Liberty Lunch bouncers were not amused. They tore into the audience, shoving kids aside, punching one dude who was unlucky enough to be holding the monitor over his head, and wrenching away the speaker. Someone reinstalled it back on the stage, and Cracker somehow wasn't kicked out of the club, and resumed their set.
It was great. They said thank you. They did an encore. They said thank you. They did another encore. The Liberty Lunch lights came up, everybody yelled and turned away from the stage, the crew relaxed as we beat our retreat…and then the band came out again. Lowery said, "We never finished this song," and proceeded to play "Eurotrash Girl" from the beginning, an eight-minute number, as one final fuck-you to the L.L.
Being a drunk idiot who fancied himself an anti-establishmentarian, but who was actually a wet-behind-the-ears school newspaper editor, I shouted along gleefully and went home happy. And with some of my hearing intact!
Tore B.: How well do you think you'd do as a real-life NFL GM?
I'm sure I'd suck.
My NFL analysis often amounts to: stop retrofitting reasons for things. Usually good players play well and bad players play poorly, and good teams play well and bad teams play poorly, and usually the reasons those things happen don't involve where the game was played or who had extra motivation or which players can't stand each other or any other of the million clichés with which sports fans are bombarded because the media is basically a bunch of lazy assholes who don't think you can tell when they're picking stuff out of their asses.
Don't get me wrong. The interpersonal stuff does matter. It matters bigly! My point is just that we never get the real truth. As fans, we're privy to lies and political answers and little else.
A leader of men. Photo by Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
The hardest thing to do is to get the members of any complex organization to pull in the same direction, let alone a complex organization filled with violent alpha males with the collective IQ of a loaf of raisin bread. You have to do stuff like bury footballs and chop off your punter's foot in the name of motivation.
It takes a one-in-a-million leader to be able to spout that garbage or just flat-out scare players into fucking up less than their opponents. I think I have a pretty decent handle on the talent evaluation side of the NFL, but managing to keep 53 knuckleheads out of prison is almost certainly beyond me.
Michael R.: How in the world are the NBA playoffs more popular than the NHL playoffs? Has the world suffered a collective massive head wound?
The NBA playoffs blow. They are terrible. Super-teams often make for exciting finals but everything before those finals are a joke. Nice of the Rockets to show up Thursday night, huh? Nice of the Bulls to look like they gave a crap, too. Home teams on the verge of elimination are now 0-10 this year. The average margin of victory in those ten games is 16.2 points. Overall, 17 games have been decided by at least 20 points. Warriors–Cavs III has been foreordained since last June, and the media have been trying to distract us with MVP talk for months.
By contrast, the NHL playoffs are awesome. The games are close. Road teams sometimes win. Underdogs sometimes win. For a fan of the two teams, a hockey Game 7 is the closest humankind has yet come to collectively shitting out its own heart. If you like the NBA playoffs more than the NHL playoffs, you're (a) a hopeless idiot; (b) Charles Barkley; or (c) both.
Tom M.: You planning on coming back to Austin in 2017?
It's already over 90 degrees there, with three months of 100-plus looming. Cracker better be doing a fantastic version of "Eurotrash Girl."

MUGGLES NOT AS STUPID AS WE THINK, SAYS MINISTRY REPORT
""A long awaited Ministry for Magic report made public today warns against the danger of underestimating muggles. A study into Muggles suspicions about magic' draws conclusions that may shock the wizarding community. Professor Phoebus Penrose, who headed the committee which drew up the report, says the muggles are more observant than we would like to think."
"The Annual International Wizard Gardening Competition, for example, caused many problems. So called 'crop circles', really entries in the Contorting Cereals class, caused sensation among Muggles worldwide, and the International Confederation Of Wizards should impose an immediate ban on further crop-related until the fuss dies down." "The report states that the muggles have been sighting flying objects for many years unaware that they are...."
"Of all the Magical Creatures living in Britain none have drawn more attention to itself than the Loch Ness Monster. It has been seen by so many muggles the the Ministry for Magic has been unable to perform memory charms on all of them, indeed, muggles have been spotted searching the loch for the monster, and only prompt action by the Invisibility Task-force has so far prevented them finding it."
Report tells that Muggles notice things like “crop circles,” which are really entries in the Annual International Wizard Gardening Competition‘s contorting cereals division, and UFOs, which are really escaped Quaffles. It mentions the fact that Hagrid has offered the Lake at Hogwarts for relocating the Loch Ness Monster.
FAULTY WANDS RECALLED
"Anyone who has purchased a wand from Wagstaff is advised to turn it in immediately, before it explodes." -- an unnamed Ministry of Magic spokesperson from the Department of Magical Equipment Control. A warning from the “Department of Magical Equipment Control” about a shady street peddler in Diagon Alley named “Honest Willy” Wagstaff who is also suspected of selling sub-standard cauldrons to the public. The wizarding community are told that they should only buy wands bearing the Department's stamp, as they are guaranteed to be safe.

CANNONS GO DOWN IN A SHOWER OF ARROWS
"....please stop trying to curse Gudgeon. Turning him into a toad will not help his game" "Gudgeon certainly missed some opportunities, I mean, the Snitch bounced off his nose twice." -- Ragmar Dorkins, Chudley Cannons team manager. The struggling Chudley Cannons suffered a heavy loss of 350-0 against the Appleby Arrows. The cause for the Cannons' defeat was attributed to the performance of their seeker, Galvin Gudgeon, who missed several opportunities to catch the snitch during the match. Gudgeon's history of inattention is mentioned and the article concludes with an interview with Ragmar Dorkins, the team manager, who pleads with Cannons fans to be patient during this losing streak.
MAGPIE CHASER “ONLY TRIED FOOTBALL FOR A LAUGH” "The ball doesn't fly or anything. I just wanted to see what it felt like." -- Alasdair Maddock to The Daily Prophet.
The Daily Prophet reported that Alasdair Maddock, chaser for the Montrose Magpies quidditch, had been spotted practising headers with a Muggle football in Dorset. He had previously been suspended from the team for employing techniques from the Muggle game of basketball during a game against the Caerphilly Catapults.
Extra News "We're easily the most exciting team playing currently" "Witches make far better Quidditch players than wizards, everybody knows that." -- interview with Gwenog Jones in the Daily Prophet. A couple of small news bits reveal that Puddlemere United will be changing the colour of their robes to blue and that no one dares disagree with Gwenog Jones, the brilliant but dangerous Captain and Beater of the all-witch Holyhead Harpies as people who do seem to turn into woodlice.
Letters Page:
Star Letter: "As a law-abiding member of the magical community who does not pretend to be a great wit, I have often wondered why my fellow wizards feel the need to perform spells and charms in the name of 'fun'." -- Ethelbald Mordaunt, letter to the Daily Prophet
Wizard whose next door neighbour, Elladora Guffy, was overly fond of practical joke spells. Mr Mordaunt's letter complained about the antics of his neighbour, Elladora Mordaunt, who thinks it fun to torment him by putting "amusing" spells and charms on his furniture and other household items. He has put a copy of a previous Daily Prophet article "Why Dustbins Weren't Meant to Kick" under her doormat as a hint that her behaviour is unacceptable.
Gripe with Gringotts Bank: "As I failed to answer every one of the sphinx’s riddles, I was unable to get past it to my gold." -- letter from Mallory Twiddle.
Mr Twiddle was unable to access his High Security vault because of the difficult riddles asked by the Sphinx guarding it. He would personal prefer the return of dragons or security trolls to the front line at Gringott's Wizarding Bank. Gobstones Tournament Overlooked: "I was most upset to learn that our victory was not deemed worthy of a single line in your paper"
-- Grugwyn Rufford
Mr Rufford, a member of the Welsh National Gobstones Team, was upset about the lack of coverage for their win against Hungary and the game of Gobstones in general. He feels too much coverage is given to Quidditch, including frivilous articles such as the one about Puddlemere United's flying bus. The editor replies that most wizards find Gobstones to be "deeply boring"
A Word in Support of Hags: "Dear Sir, I am sick and tired of reading what horrible creatures hags are, you'd think that from recent articles in the Daily Prophet that we spend all day luring innocent children into our caves and eating them raw. I am a hag and I am hurt at your false and vicious assertion that I am nothing but a flesh eating monster, when I spend most of my day reading poetry, crochet and tending to my shrubbery. If any of your readers need a baby sitter incidentally, I can be reached care of the cave, dead marsh. " -- Annis Black sent in by a Hag who tries to sound homey and cheerful but offers babysitting services. Merlin Remembrance Day Suggestion: "....a day to honour the greatest wizard of this or any age." "I could do with an extra day's holiday around August" -- letter from Harold Skively to the Daily Prophet. Suggesting a new public holiday (DP1). Mr Skively in his letter makes a case for a wizarding public holiday to honour the wizard Merlin, but ruins it by mentioning that what he would really like is a day off that would fall in the summer months. The editor of the Daily Prophet sees through this.
