This is what they call a ‘drop in’. There are only a few rules of surfing and dropping in is one of them. If someone is already on a wave then they have priority. Don’t drop in and burn their wave, they certainly won’t love you for it. If you’re about to take off on a wave, just have a quick look over your shoulder and see if anyone is already on it. If they are, just pull the board back and let the wave pass you by. There are plenty to go around. Remember, don’t be a dick, don’t drop in on people.
