#marchmeetthemaker #day18 - skills Since I started my business in 2011 I have learnt many new skills, and I'm always looking to upskill at every opportunity. I've tweaked my recipes and baking techniques (although I still cannot bake a loaf of bread for love nor money!), I've taught myself chocolate making, royal icing techniques, painting on cakes, (and canvases but that's a different story), various fondant skills, sugar models, macarons (aka maca-f-in-rons in this house ;) ), delicious raw and vegan treats, not to mention business management and social skills - etc etc etc - but the one I want to highlight today is my sugar flowers. This Dahlia took hours and hours, and I could've gone on for longer for more of a statement flower, but sometimes we just have to say "when" lol I've been learning from the amazing Suzanne Esper in the UK, and hoping to spend a bit more time on these skills whilst we're all on lockdown.
