Her fondness for the family that had taken her in was something that was no secret. Tim was the one who was most like her, she felt, both of them relying on their analytical minds and strategic thinking when they were doing anything. She found solace in talking to him, happy to find someone who was similar to her in the way that she organized her thoughts, even if they disagreed so deeply about HERA. Barbara found it hard to reconcile the people she cared about with the legislation that disgusted her, but it was easier with Tim than with Dick. She had a platonic distance with Tim that made it possible for their friendship to endure, and Babs was grateful for that fact. “I haven’t seen you in a while, Tim,” she said offhandedly. “But I think that might be my fault.”
