Drove up from Metro Detroit and crossed the choppy Great Lakes on the Mackinaw Bridge to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan today. Traveling into Paradise we spied white capped waves on Lake Superior. Then enjoyed a snowy night hike at Tahquamenon Falls, the second biggest waterfall east of the Mississippi. And my first favorite waterfall of all time. After eating a dinner of local wild rice soup, pasties, and brewery made root beer at the Falls Brewery we were Newberry bound. Driving through the beautifully decorated downtown we braved more slushy rainy roads as we headed back down state. After crossing the Mackinaw Bridge again we finally stopped at our family cabin. Feels like home.
