I'll never say it's perfect, but I will say that every toku fan should give Kamen Rider The First a fair shot just because you get:

-Veteran toku director Takao Nagaishi trying to pay homage to the original show that he served as 1st AD through most of, while being saddled with a script that was...

-written by Toshiki Inoue, trying to pay homage to the original scripts written by his father while also indulging in his own fixations as a writer

-character designs by Yutaka Izubuchi

-deranged performances by Hassei Takano (Kamen Rider Ryuki, Ultraman Gaia) and Kanji Tsuda (also from Ryuki, Shin Godzilla and Gamera the Brave)

-banger end credits song by Issa

-the most unhinged opinions on water crystals you will ever hear

Hagino: This is going to be about me, but there is a line in the script where he first appears and says, "I'm getting frustrated.” At that time, the script said, "I'm going to bang my head against the cage.” Director Nagaishi (Takao) asked me, "Hagino, what are you going to do about that?　Do you want to do it?" I said, "I want to do it," and I did it. Then he said, "It would be better to have blood here. Let's bleed. Let's make it look good." (Laughs).

Matsuda: The amount of blood was in line with broadcast ethics.

Hagino: I hope you will take a look at that!　We worked on it in that much detail. There really is a lot of blood!

Tohru Hirayama and Takao Nagishi (whose names are shown at the end of Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider) are both men who had major effects on the Kamen Rider  and Super Sentai franchises.

Tohru Hirayama was the producer for the Kamen Rider franchise during the Showa Era (he started with the original, and his last project was ZX), and Himitsu Sentai Goranger. He was also one of the co-creators for Kamen Rider Stronger.

Sadly, at the age of 84, he had passed away in 2013 due to heart failure.

Takao Nagaishi was a director for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. He was assistant director for the original Kamen Rider, he had directed for every Heisei Rider from Kuuga to Decade. Along with Kamen Rider Den-O's movie "Kamen Rider Den-O: I am born!" and Kamen Rider: The First. When it comes to Super Sentai, he had directed certain episodes of Hikari Sentai Maskman, Choujuu Sentai Liveman, Kousoku Sentai Turboranger, and Denji Sentai Megaranger. (He had also directed the Maskman and Turboranger movies)

He had also passed away in 2013 at the age of 63, because of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy is when parts of the brain start to deteriorate and die)

Mod Note: Basically what happened is my last attempt at posting this had false information, and I ended up posting it without knowing that (and the worst part is that people saw it) and since I said I would post the second part (It was going to be a two parter) I decided I would just make a fixed version of the last post and write in the second part.
