Hi hello Snow "pulls AUs out the hat" Manmelting here with your very stereotypical, very Argentinianโข AU:
Professional Tango Dancer!Elsa because it fits her a lot oh my god ๐๐ she'll be a really good dancer, working in one of the top tango companies (I think that'll be in Colon Theatre ๐ค)
And, you know, I was gonna go with Anna works in scenography and they meet there somehow but!!!! There's actually a company called Tango Entre Mujeres (Tango between women) and aaaaaaaa ๐๐ what if they meet and like, Elsa is all about oohh the tradition and the classics bc family pressures and yadda yadda but she actually really likes the idea. And here there would be a dance with Anna that convinces her of the contrary and this is turning into something really cliche but I'll scream about it anyways because YES?? ๐๐๐๐๐
#please imagine that I do that thing that Rapunzel does when Eugene starts to tell his backstory#also cuz I'm super intrigued by this scenography thing?#I did production so I'm wondering if there are parallels#snowmanmelting#themountainsays#tangodancer!Elsa#scenographer!Anna

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ I made another reblog basically making a very cliche plot where they casually met at a tango bar instead (based on an interview of two women who dance together and how they came to doing that). But Anna working in scenography would make a lot more sense?? Like if they work at the same Theatre during the same hours they might walk past the other frequently, even if it's two different branches.
Maybe Anna was low-key waiting for a moment to talk bc she did practice tango as a hobby and really admired Elsa, plus she's totally gay for her :^) so when they happen to meet at this tango bar she takes the chance ๐๐๐๐ oh my ๐
I hope you donโt mind that I combined your reblogs in one place, it was helpful to see them together^^;
After a few quick google searches (double checking my definition on scenography and a quick read up on modern tango shows and competitions since WOW itโs been a LONG time since thatโs been anywhere near my wheel house) I have to conclude that.... making Anna a set designer for these utterly gorgeous theater stages with the intent to heighten and enhance the incredible performance of already ridiculously talented dancers is....
Extremely good tbh <3 <3
While live production is primarily the facilitation of ongoing performances (lighting, audio, projections, timed events/transitions with stage crew and performers alike), pre-production often includes an abundance of design roles, set included. Anna would be intimately familiar with the theme, routine, and overall message of the performance, and make a set to match the passion on the stage!!
Now, because set designย is largely ahead of any live practice (or live run-throughs, as we called it), Anna MAY have designed the set before meeting any performers in person, but if she was familiar with their work ("theyโ being Hans and Elsa in this case, along with others dancers in the company), she would be smart enough to do research and make adjustments accordingly, her design approved and ready for building long before even one dancer showed up in casual clothes for a dry run. Anna would of course be around to supervise the construction of her work, but itโs not common forย โtalentโ (aka performers/dancers/orchestra/singer in this case) to formally meet or even casually interact with production folks unless introduced by an executive director or for marketing reasons ;-; Despite how much time they may actually spend together on stage, itโs not always that these two groups of people become fast friends.
Basically what Iโm saying is, if Anna and Elsa are working together, thereโs a high chance that Elsa barely knows who Anna is, while Anna knows plenty about Elsa.
If I may humbly offer, consider the following: an Anna who catches movement out of the corner of her eye while rigging a set piece, realizing itโs Elsa arriving in athletic wear, ready to take the stage for rehearsal; an Anna that peers down from the lighting booth as different colors splash over the stage to check the paint job on her work, but is too distracted by the way it catches in Elsaโs hair as she moves; an Anna that has all the dance steps memorized, down to the second, down to the heartbeat, because sheโs seen Hans and Elsa practice over and over again and finds herself practicing the movements in the aisle, humming into her headset.
They meet at a tango bar officially for the first time, and Elsa may be genuinely surprised at Annaโs ability to lead... but not for long. She may soon realize that Anna has been one step ahead of her the whole time ๐๐

#I didn't spend 6 years in production to NOT write about how it's the perfect atmosphere for sneaky love stories xD#that being said I may have gotten some details wrong about tango - so if I did lmk#like I said it was a quick good search and some even faster reading#but from what I could tell - the stage the lights the drama the mood#absolutely perfect for this kind of au#one of the best parts of working behind the scenes is seeing the mask on AND the mask off for all of these talented people#how the work tirelessly on their performance and practically glow with skill#and how they become so charmingly human when someone calls for a break and they pal around with those they know#it was one of my - if not my definite - favorite things about working in live production#I have no doubt whatsoever that Anna crush very hard on a dancer like Elsa#getting to see Elsa make her scenes come alive? that's magic y'all trust me#'Dejame ser' - por favor permiteme complacerse xD#snowmanmelting#tangodancer!Elsa#scenographer!Anna

#idk which is better tbh - Anna asking Elsa to dance without telling her that they technically work together#and then they both go to work the next day and Elsa goes 'Wait a second...' at the redhead on stage covered in paint flecks and plaster#or if Anna introduces herself during their dance or after and you have that Beau/Yasha thing going on in the Crit Role fandom like#'Yeah I've seen you.... I've seen you a lot <3 <3'#like if you're GONNA go full cliche GO FULL CLICHE you feel???#snowmanmelting#tangodancer!Elsa#scenographer!Anna
