⋆｡°✩ n o t e s : my first ever fic! based on a quote by the fantastic palestinian poet mahmoud darwish. something about the words, "If I ever see a flaw of yours, I'd say my eyes are the flawed ones" made something in my heart twinge in the most beautiful way. a purely self indulgent fic i wrote after an exhausting work week, and suddenly, here we are, 3 months later.

⋆｡°✩ n o t e s : my last fic of 2024! a lil drabble for the loveliest boy. no real notes on this, other than i am sure that murphy's law somehow targets me 50000x more than the average human being. again, purely self-indulgent, but also a wonderful way to close out the year.

⋆｡°✩ n o t e s : the idea for this came to me after a crazy night out. though i myself have not gotten to this level of drunk yet, i definitely would scream about how pretty choi seungcheol is any day, any time. i was actually shocked when this blew up - it wasn't my favorite piece i'd written at the time, and i woke up one morning and it had skyrocketed from maybe 100 notes to upwards of 600 in one night. weirdly, i think this was maybe the third thing i had ever posted to this blog and it made me so happy that people actually enjoyed my writing. bdlomel, ily <3

⋆｡°✩ n o t e s : oh, full throttle, what to say about you (i am combining both parts into one fic - the only reason there are two parts is bc tumblr is a bitch about formatting). there are few things that exhausted me, exhilerated me, enraged me, and made me feel as proud as i do looking at this finished fic. three weeks of non-stop writing every day after work, jotting down notes in the cleanroom and during lunch breaks, and storyboarding when i should have been sleeping culminated in most possibly the pièce de résistance of my year. i had so many people who cheered me on as i wrote this fic, battled through witty banter (that i myself could never say irl) and fiery headlines, but none cheered as loudly as @haologram and @ylangelegy. alta and kae were genuinely the wind beneath my wings as i wrote this, and reading their comments in the doc was what kept me going. in the end, i'm genuinely so happy with how full throttle turned out, and seeing the reactions i'm getting from it make me feel so fulfilled.

⋆｡°✩ the somerset affair - lee seokmin

⋆｡°✩ n o t e s : my first forray into longer fic writing (and i'm still battling my way through it, but we don't talk about that). if anyone knows me, they know how much of a Bridgerton fan i am - i quote anthony's speech on the daily, and penelope/eloise are some of my fav romcom heroines ever written (until they both get married, but again, we don't talk about that). i felt like writing this fic was my way to pay homage to this fictional world i adore so much. i have a love/hate relationship with the actual tone of the series - its so hard to maintain the regency tone and also write in a way that's true to my own voice, but at the end of the day it's a challenge i relish. i'm so excited to finish this series this coming year!

⋆｡°✩ on diamonddaze01: i have a lot of collabs coming up in 2025! i hope that i can meet all those deadlines and write things i'm proud of. i've also learned that writing longer fics like full throttle or somerset affair make me feel more fulfilled as a writer, so expect a lot more of them as i further explore my writing style and characterization. i also want to go back to some of my older wips that i abandoned and reopen them, see where i can go with a fresh mindset. ⋆｡°✩ personal goals: i have a lot, but to name a few: read more, laugh more, love more. i also want to focus on establishing a better work/life balance - i know already that the coming months are going to suck at work, but i no longer want to drag the weight of corporate life home with me. work is work, and that's where it will stay. i want to prioritize my mental and physical well-being over all else, and that starts with reprioritizing things like work, my social life, and writing.

⋆｡°✩ final thoughts

⋆｡°✩ i started writing on tumblr because i was stressed from work and felt like i didn't have a community, especially at a new job and a new city. what started as some stress relief turned into a community of its own. i'm eternally grateful that i was able to meet some wonderful people this year that i truly feel a sense of belonging with. to everyone in the networks i'm in, to anyone that reads my work, to all the lovely people i've met: thank you, and i love you.

scenarios: 

 lying on the couch on top of eachother, one combing their fingers through the other’s hair as they watch a movie 

 waking their partner up for work when they notice their alarm didn’t go off 

 alternatively: allowing their partner to sleep in because they were overworked anyway and need the rest. 

 one waking up before the other, so they make up their side of the bed and can’t help but tuck in their sleeping lover as they do so. 

 giving the other a spoonful of the meal they’re cooking to test it out, holding their hand under their chin so nothing falls. 

 one is sick, so the other heats up a blanket in the dryer to give it to them while they rest on the couch. 

 listening to music together while they both take the day to clean around the house (maybe even getting a little distracted to dance instead)

 calmly reassuring the other it’s okay when they drop a glass, gently checking their hands for any injury.

⋆｡°✩ are you musical? if i'm not singing you can assume i'm DEAD. but yes, i was raised in an incredibly musical family (especially on my father's side). grew up listening to indian classical music and doing indian classical dance, started singing indian classical at the age of 6, quit at 16, joined choir at the age of 8, sang though high school, did 5 years of a cappella through college/grad school, and now i torture everyone with singing covers! (fun fact, i also did play viola from the ages of 10 and 14. i wasn't very good though)

⋆｡°✩ what were you like as a child? dramatic, loud, incredibly extroverted. loved being the center of attention (oldest grandchild things). was an absolute daddy's girl (my family used to call me papa ki pari, which translates to dad's angel)

⋆｡°✩ favorite subject at school? i'm sure everyone will be shocked when when the engineer says math and physics. numbers have always made sense to me and they feel like a puzzle that just needs the right piece to fit perfectly. there's something satisfying about the logic and structure of it all (can you tell i'm the most left-brained, type-a person you'll ever meet)

⋆｡°✩ least favorite subject? this one shocked me at first too, but i am absolutely ass at coding. if you gave me the choice between coding or ten rounds in a cage with an angry, territorial kangaroo, i would choose the kangaroo every. single. time. the logic has always made sense to me, but debugging is my mortal enemy.

⋆｡°✩ what's your best character trait? i think i perform well under pressure! (executive dysfunction + perfectionism + academic validation kink + start-up things ig)

⋆｡°✩ what's your worst character trait? i struggle with managing my emotions sometimes and they definitely get the better of me. i also am a bit of a cynicist and have a hard time not automatically believing in the worst-case scenario

⋆｡°✩ if you could change any detail of your day right now what would it be? i wish i had been a little less pushy during a meeting earlier today. kind of soured everyone's moods, even though we did all get to an understanding later on.

⋆｡°✩ if you could travel in time who would you like to meet? my grandma when she was younger. she talks a lot about how she loved who she was in college, studying music. i wish i could meet the girl she was before she became a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. i think i could learn a lot

⋆｡°✩ recommend one of your favorite fanfics (spread the love): i will wax poetic about this fic until i die but: unforgiven by @haologram - one of the first fics i ever annotated. athena!seungkwan lives in my head endlessly. one of the best pieces of fiction i've ever read. i'm a sucker for greek mythology and alta wrote the characters and the story so well, i was in tears by the end of it

I honestly debated answering this ask because of the sheer absurdity of this statement. I’m generally a patient person, but this behavior is, frankly, incredibly upsetting. I’m going to say this one last time, and then I will never address it again: I don’t appreciate my name being dragged through the mud, and even more so, I hate seeing one of my closest friends’ name being used as a shield for this kind of behavior.

There are two things Kwon Soonyoung, #96, knows to be true:

You never brake going into the infamous 130R at Suzuka—not if you want to stay in the fight.

He hates media day.

The first truth is one he clings to on the track, a mantra that keeps him focused, fearless, and fast. The second is a reality he battles off it, a necessary evil that comes with the prestige of wearing Ferrari red.

Today is no exception.

Soonyoung slouches in the chair of a pristine press room, the Ferrari logo emblazoned on every available surface. Cameras click incessantly as journalists scribble notes and wait for his answers. He can already feel the sweat pooling beneath his collar from the sheer effort of pretending he cares about these questions.

But the real reason for his discomfort? You, standing just offstage with your clipboard and sharp eyes, watching his every move.

“Soonyoung, what’s your mindset going into this weekend?” a reporter asks.

“My mindset?” he repeats, stalling. His gaze flickers to you, as it often does when he’s searching for an answer. You respond with a small shake of your head—your silent reminder not to say anything reckless.

He flashes a grin at the reporter. “Flat out, full send.”

Your expression twitches, and he has to bite back a laugh. Watching you try to stay professional when he’s being a menace might be the only thing that makes media day tolerable.

Later, when the reporters are ushered out and the cameras stop rolling, you stride over to him with that familiar mix of exasperation and authority. “Flat out, full send?”

“Accurate, wasn’t it?” he quips, leaning casually against the table. “What’s wrong with giving them what they want?”

You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose. “What they want is a soundbite that’ll make you look like a reckless idiot. And what I want is to keep my job, Soonyoung.”

“Then it’s a good thing you’re so good at it,” he teases, the edges of his smile softening.

You roll your eyes, but there’s no real heat behind it. This is your routine, your dance. And despite his grumbling, Soonyoung can’t deny that he doesn’t mind it half as much when it’s with you.

stop fucking stealing our work. stop interacting with our work if your end goal is to feed it through a machine that sucks the life and joy out of art.

“ai makes art accessible” -> no. HUMANS have had the ability to make art for EONS. if YOU lack the IMAGINATION and MEDIA LITERACY to think of your own endings to our work. maybe you need to spend some time unpacking that, hm?

there is a reason authors are so protective of our work. in a day and age where people like this can steal our words, the ones we painstakingly string together over weeks and months with the limited free time that we have, and feed it into AI, what choice do we have but to yell and curse and tell people to fuck off?

okay so i know everyone is mad at the other anon for bringing up AI, but like… isn’t it kinda fair to say that once you publish a teaser or fic, and then don’t update it for months, it’s natural for readers to want closure in their own way? idk… i feel like that anon was being really polite with you. they even said it was just for personal use and like ai exists to make life easier?? so why is it such a crime to want to see the ending if the writer isn’t giving one? isn’t that the whole point of technology? you didn’t have to be that mad at them. you could’ve just said no without cursing and yelling. i’m sorry but it just feels a bit much. and tbh if they didn’t ask and used gpt anyway, you wouldn’t even know, so what’s the point of being so aggressive?

i will start with the obvious. AI models 'learn' from the content fed into it. it regurgitates and steals content from human writers, whether it's our style/voice/tone or our actual words. our work is repurposed without our permission. "not everyone who disagrees with you is a villain," yes, but anyone who enables this system is.

i am not about to apologize for "being so aggressive," or "screaming," or "yelling." this will be the last i say on this, so let me make my stance as crystal clear as possible. anon, and to anyone else who agrees with this anon: get off my fucking blog. shit, get off fandom spaces. do not interact with any of my work, or any fanfic writer's work, ever again.

Hey, I just wanted to say something because I think it’s only fair you hear it directly. I actually sent an ask to @/ylangelegy about this but they’re way too kind to call anyone out even when it’s obvious. So I figured I’d reach out to you instead. I’ve been noticing for a while now that your writing has been looking really similar to theirs. Lik not just in themes but in the actual phrasing the tone, even the way emotions are described. Maybe it’s unintentional, maybe you don’t even realize it but as someone who reads both of your works, I can’t ignore it anymore. I’m not trying to start drama or attack you, but I think you should at least be aware. I think you both are friends but I’d be mortified if I were in your position and people were seeing these similarities. Maybe just… reflect a little? Because even if she won’t say anything it’s pretty clear to some of us

I have my own style, voice, and creative process, and I also work with a community of writers who beta-read my work. While I understand that certain themes, tones, or emotional descriptions might feel similar, I can assure you that any resemblance is purely coincidental rather than intentional imitation.

It’s also worth considering that similar influences naturally lead to overlapping stylistic choices. Writers often draw inspiration from the same books, poetry, and media—whether consciously or unconsciously. If Kae and I have read similar works, admired the same prose styles, or explored the same emotional depth in storytelling, it makes sense that our writing might occasionally resonate in a comparable way. But that doesn’t mean it’s not original.

Beyond that, I’m part of a writing community that not only supports each other but also holds each other accountable. If there were ever an issue with my writing being too close to someone else’s, I trust that my beta readers and fellow writers—who know my process inside and out—would call it out. We respect and uplift each other, and that includes being honest when necessary. The fact that Kae hasn’t brought this up to me speaks for itself—I know my work is my own.

I love and respect Kae and their creativity, and I would never want to take away from what they do. I put a lot of thought into my writing, and I stand by my authenticity. I hope this clears things up, and I’d appreciate it if assumptions like this weren’t made so quickly. Thanks for understanding.
