Let's start with 9 ("Does your OC have a mirror counterpart? If so, what is their mirror counterpart like?"):

At the moment, neither has one. But I did start wondering how Tillda, in particular, might react to someone else who DOES have a mirror counterpart... 🤔

You ever get the vibe that the "old" Sectonia was fully gone once she was okay with hurting Taranza? I think for him, that person is his sister.

4 (Has your OC met Kirby? If they have, what is their relationship with him like?):

Nope! Tarantillda has never met him. She has been to Dream Land a time or two (long before the events of Triple Deluxe), but while she may have heard Kirby's name in passing, they've never actually happened upon one another.

12 (Is your OC open with their emotions, or do they tend to keep their feelings bottled up inside?):

I would say that, yes, Tillda does bottle up her feelings, but she rarely does it with intention. She just sees her negative and unresolved emotions as additional responsibilities to bear, and while she tries to make the best of things, she sometimes misdirects her anger/insecurity after keeping it to herself for too long.

9.🪞 aaaand... 16!📺 For whoever you want... or Tarantillda, idk!!!

9 was already answered here, so let's answer 16 ("If the anime got a reboot or if there was another Kirby TV show, do you have any ideas for episodes that your OC could appear in? What would the plot be and what role would your OC play?"):

I decided to try to slot Tarantillda (and Zed, for fun) into the anime, since coming up with an entirely new Kirby show canon seemed too big an undertaking lol.

I think, if the anime were continued, it would have been cool to see a Star Warriors resurgence with new heroes, and I think it would make sense for Tarantillda and Zed to end up joining said resistance. But they would have to be introduced properly, first, so check under the cut for some episode run-downs if you're interested! :)

For Tillda's introductory episode ("Flower Power"):

A young woman from another planet arrives in Dreamland seeking her brother, who apparently went missing some time ago. She looks through the whole town and doesn't find him—but, just when she's about to leave Pop Star, trouble appears: it's Flowery Woods, a tree-like demon beast! It begins to take over Dreamland and chokes out the sunlight so that Cappy Town is covered in darkness. Tillda, knowing some plant magic and hopeful that her brother might appear alongside Flowery Woods, sticks around to help.

After the fight, she explains that Dedede isn't the only monarch that has been lured by NME to the side of evil—her homeland, Floralia (which probably works better as another planet entirely in the anime-verse), was turned to a miserable place after their tyrannical queen swore loyalty to Nightmare. Tillda meant to grab her little brother and escape the place, but he was lured away and turned into a demon beast himself, leading Tillda to search planets for signs of Nightmare-sponsored trouble and, hopefully, bring her brother back to the light.

The episode ends with Kirby and friends waving her off, promising they'll keep an eye out for Taranza. (She and Tiff would probably take a shine to each other over the course of the episode, since they both play the role of sharp elder sister to an adventurous little brother in a world full of danger!)

For Zed's introductory episode ("Over the Rainbow"):

Kirby, Tiff, and Tuff are playing in town when they see an unfamiliar feline face pass by. Though the newcomer isn't very talkative, he seems friendly enough—especially to Kirby, who is excited to meet a new friend. Tiff and Tuff, on the other hand, are mildly suspicious, but agree that they should learn more before they interfere—especially after catching a glimpse of a strange, black, blob-like creature with one eye displayed on Zed's portable computer.

Later that day, a blight of Dark Matter (which no one in Dreamland is particularly familiar with) descends upon the townspeople. With the exception of Tiff and Tuff, everyone around Kirby starts turning angry and violent, including Lady Like and Sir Ebrum; when the three protagonists encounter several strange, one-eyed creatures, they remember Zed from earlier in the day and assume he is a demon beast summoned by Dedede to bring the blight upon the town.

Zed is discovered huddled away writing notes about the monster. Tiff and Tuff threaten to attack, but Meta Knight quickly swoops in with exposition. Soon everyone calms down and listens to what Zed has to say—that the darkness over Dreamland can be expelled if the leader of the occupying Dark Matter army, the Swordsman, is defeated.

In reply, Meta Knight mentions that the Star Warriors previously defeated Dark Matter Swordsman using the Rainbow Sword, which has since gone missing; Zed then reveals themself to be in possession of this legendary weapon and offers it to Meta Knight, thinking that this must be the hero that can defeat the Dark Matter Clan yet again—but Meta Knight, who already has Galaxia, insists Kirby take it so that the two can join forces to stop this very powerful threat.

Hence DMS is defeated by Kirby and Meta Knight, leaving its army to flee and Dreamland safe and peaceful once more (much to Dedede and Escargoon's relief—the Dark Matter ended up possessing them, too).

Zed exits without much of a goodbye, let alone an explanation of who they are, where they came from, or why they helped fight against the Dark Matter Clan. Meta Knight is left to ponder aloud that, like Fofa, maybe there are other demon beasts that turned to the good side, for one reason or another.

Afterward...

I suppose Zed and Tillda could meet off-screen and become besties (as they ought to be, in every universe 😌). I don't think they'd be the founders of the New Star Warriors, though, especially considering Tillda has no idea who the "Star Warriors" were. Maybe Knuckle Joe and Sirica would come up with the idea and invite Tillda and Zed to join them?

Did I make this character, including a whole-ass backstory and B-plot, just because I thought the name was cute? Yes. Do I feel bad about it? ...Also yes. Sorry guys!!!

Most notably, she's Taranza's older sister. Check under the cut for her "lore," a comic, and tiny Taranza.

Tarantillda's family moved from Floralia to a city on another planet (arbitrary, but a good ways from Planet Popstar) when she and her brother were still quite young. When their parents passed unexpectedly a few years later, Tillda took on the role of caretaker for the remainder of Taranza's (and her own) childhood. It was difficult, but then, someone had to take "Anza" to his recitals.

Of course, Taranza would end up returning to Floralia. Though he had few childhood memories of the place, the quieter lifestyle and endless greenery felt something like home to him, and he spent more and more time there.

And, yes: when she visited him in Floralia, Tillda noticed right away that her little brother loved Sectonia for more than her tailoring ability. It was rather amusing to Tillda.

For a while, anyway.

The siblings started to drift apart. Sectonia became vacant and angry. Taranza and his sister didn't see each other for a very long time, and their long-distance communication dwindled to nothing.

Eventually, the new queen of Floralia completely prohibited visits from outsiders, leaving Tillda with no idea of her brother's status or safety.

Still, maybe they'll see each other again, someday.

Ahem per the results of this poll, I offer you: Zed

He's an N-Z, which I consider to be an offshoot/subspecies of Dark Matter. His nickname comes from the mechanical visor on his head that always displays the digit zero. I don't consider this a "finished" design yet (I might like to update his outfit, especially), but this is where Zed stands now!

Tillda met Zed during a botched attempt to "infiltrate" his workplace (the details of which I'm working out and that we won't get into here lol). He was pretty cool about it.

There's a non-Zero percent chance that his eyes are literally black holes. His personality can be unnerving. And some rumors say his civilian employment is a coverup for the spoils of his REAL job as an evil mind-controlling Dark Matter clan member. But he's always willing to go along with Tillda's schemes, and that means he's A-okay! (N-Z-okay?)

Turns out, Tillda feels incomplete without having someone around to mentor. She might want to work through that in a professional setting; in the meantime, Zed seems happy enough to absorb her lectures. (Funnily, Tillda assumes she is older than Zed, but who knows if she's right.)

Some more development sketches and miscellaneous design notes:

In this particular post, I use "he/him" pronouns for Zed, but Zed can also be referred to with "they/them" and "it/its."

His "tail" (and the rest of his body) is kinda like oobleck; it's usually solid, but he can change its shape at will. He uses his tail for leverage, self-defense, and general appendage-ness, much like Gooey uses his tongue.

When Zed wears his visor, the zero moves and dilates like a regular eye. (Structurally, it's a simplified version of Dark Matter Swordsman's mechanical visor.) Zed keeps his visor in position with a strap. I imagine he likes to wear the visor over his eyes most of the time, but he isn't embarrassed to be seen without it.

When designing Zed, I really wanted his appearance to "give Kirby." I wanted people to be able to look at him and say, "Hm. He looks like a little Kirby dude. A little fella you'd find walking around in Gamble Galaxy." You may let me know if I succeeded or not lol.

I’m late but if it’s not too late for the Kirby oc ask game, 💫💌🍒🍅🐛 for either/both your ocs?

Yeah!

Q: "💫 (Shooting Star) - If they were to wish on a clockwork star, like Galactic Nova or Star Dream, what would they wish for?"

A: If we're talking current day, after they've met and become friends, I honestly think they might just give their wish to each other. Neither is the type to rely on magic or Ancient shenanigans to reach their goals, for better or worse; but they do want what's best for each other.

If we're talking about before the two met: for Zed, it's a secret because I haven't figured out some story details. For Tillda, it's probably predictable enough. I made a little comic (it continues under the cut):

Q: "💌 (Love Letter) - How easy are they to befriend? Are they more of a social butterfly or a lone wolf?"

A: Tillda is not that difficult to befriend, but she might keep you at a healthy(?) distance. She was always somewhat introverted, but after losing contact with Taranza, she is more reclusive (spider pun!) than ever. Zed is her closest friend, but she is also respected and generally well-liked at her workplace.

Zed is even less social than Tillda. It isn't because they don't like other people; they just don't actively seek friendship. For instance, Zed almost certainly wouldn't be friends with Tillda if she hadn't bumped into them during one of their work shifts. (Speaking of which, they do inadvertently creep some of their coworkers out, but either Zed doesn't notice or doesn't mind.)

Q: "🍒 (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?"

A: ...This one is gonna be somewhat long. I'll reblog with the answer to this one later.

Q: "🍅 (Tomato) - If Kirby absorbed them or their attacks, what Copy Ability [or Abilities] would he get? Alternatively, if they themselves are capable of using the Copy Ability, do they have a favourite?"

A: Tillda---hold your suspense---would give the Spider Copy Ability. (Maybe Kirby could wear her muffler. Or a wig. That would be cute.)

I could see Zed giving the Whip ability because of their tail. (This is much like how Gooey is represented by Whip Shadow Kirby in Fighters 2 because the former uses his tongue as a lasso of sorts). Though maybe you could argue that Zed, being a feline like Tac and wielding a mechanical visor, should give the Copy Copy Ability. (Zed's own visor has several functions, but scanning Copy Abilities is not one of them.)

Q: "🐛 (Caterpillar) - What are your OC’s greatest fears, and why? How do they act or react when they’re afraid?"

A: Tillda and Zed obviously have some deeper-rooted fears, but those will naturally be explored later in comics (whenever I get the chance), so we'll go with their greatest phobias:

Zed: Musophobia. Zed is terrified of rats and mice. Rodents are messy, they chew through wires and equipment, and they're a sign of a disorganized workspace. (And I love the cat-afraid-of-mouse trope.)

Tillda: Claustrophobia. She doesn't like small, tight rooms or crowded cities; maybe it's because she's lived in nice green countrysides all her life. Floralia is obviously a plant-filled paradise, but the planet she lives on now also has some verdant stretches. The modest home she inherited from her parents is in one of the planet's greenest cities (more of a village, really).

As for how they react to scary situations: you know "fight, flight, or freeze"? Well, Tillda fights, and Zed freezes.

That last Tillda post got me wondering, assuming she ever does reunite with Taranza, how would she react to finding out everything that's gone on (from Sectonia's downfall to everything her brother went through) and why he hasn't been able to keep in touch with her? How would Taranza react after everything? I imagine it'd be super emotional, but how exactly would it go down?

Wellll I'll hold off on super-specifics for now, but I don't think it would work out great (at least during the initial confrontation). Once she learns of Sectonia's death, Tarantillda would have sympathy for her little brother; even if he has earnest intentions, though, it would be hard for Tillda to see herself as anything but an emotional crutch for Taranza now that the person he actually seemed to care about is gone, you dig?

Q8: This one is easy enough to answer for all of my OCs; at a practical level, I wouldn’t consider any of them to be “the only one of their kind,” since none of them are/were the sole member of their species. (I would consider engineered/mutant characters like Elfilin, Queen Sectonia, and the Master Crown, for example, to fall into this "unicorn" category.)

Some of my OCs are unique in other ways. Zed is the only N-Z on the planet where they and Tillda live, for example.

Q10: Zed doesn't, really. Tillda holds grudges sometimes, but I would say they're mostly superficial. Of all my OCs, Miz-Baranez (the N-Z General) is probably the least forgiving, and Cardnyl (the Jamba priestess) is the most forgiving.

Q21: All of my OCs are adults, though their actual ages vary greatly. Nan-Zee and Zed are the youngest and the orange ball is the eldest.

Sure thing!

Q: "🪄 (Magic Wand) - Are they capable of wielding magic? Is it a learned skill, or is it innate? What sorts of spells can they cast? Do they possess any magical items or artifacts? [e.g. the Dimensional Mantle]"

A: I headcanon that Taranza's species as a whole (including Tillda) have innate abilities in both plant and web magic (and probably crystal magic too). But that doesn't mean all of them practice or use that magic on a regular basis—Tillda, for example, rarely has a major reason to make webs aside from doing her hair, and she almost never uses her plant magic. So, she's not exactly battle-tested, but she wouldn't hesitate to sling a spell or two in self-defense.

PS: If Taranza's is pink and Sectonia's is golden, I think Tillda's magic aura ought to be purple!

PPS: It was mostly Tillda that supported Taranza's study of puppeteering magic (which is NOT one of their species' innate abilities). She didn't understand the first thing about it herself, but it was one of the few things that continued to make her little brother genuinely cheerful in the wake of their parents' sudden absence, so… escorting him to puppetry classes and sorcerers' seminars was soon just part of life.

Q: "🌙 (Moon) - Is your OC a particularly light or heavy sleeper? Somewhere in-between? Do they take naps?"

A: I would have to think Tillda is a heavy sleeper. Her job is pretty stressful and she always comes home tired. And she does take naps, but never intentionally…

Ah I like this question, but it was a little tough for me because I don't draw food very often (or at least, not in much detail)!

I wanted to do something Italian because of the inspiration for Tillda's name; ended up going with some panna cotta :)

"This blackberry panna cotta mixes a bit of tart with a lot of sweet. It's topped with an airy tower of cream that resembles a certain someone's pigtails. (Apparently, the muse for this dish uses a generous amount of spider silk to keep her hairdo in place, but we've left that ingredient out of the recipe.)"
