I love your drawings!!!! Can I ask what brushes you use?

HI THANK YOU sorry this is like. over a month later. i've answered this last year but since i changed computers i've been flip flopping a lot between brushes and i haven't settled on a work flow yet. the biggest change though is this brush from twitter user nikoco_11 (i use it as a sketch and sometimes lineart brush) LIFE CHANGING!!! although to get its magical properties i need to set it at 2px size, which is why the definition of my drawings has just been getting worse lmao. anyways, have a link to this photoshop oil pack i use Sometimes, and the Artemus Chalk pack i now prefer over the pencil one. AND this mspaint airbrush i love for adding texture 👍

hellooo ty ty i use Clip Studio Paint so i'll link the ones that are from the asset store cos idk where i got the rest from, they're from my Photoshop days 👎

for sketching i've been using the Artemus Pencil pack, almost exclusively the Artemus Hard one. it does feel a bit too textury at times but iiii like it

and for painting i use this selection that i don't remember making with brushes that i'm not in love with but they're always there for me..

first two are from a Kyle gouache pack, 3rd and 4th from an Ahmed Aldoori pack, and here is the last one that's mostly for blending :]

for the halftone textures i do sometimes, i use this Retro Halftone pack but before that it was the trusty Kyle's Ultimate Halftone Brushes my best friend for many years

it's literally the growing up the falling down the throwing up the shame the silent prayers the nausea the game. listen LISTEN it's been haunting me for months.. i don't have time right now but i do wanna do smth with it at least a low effort text tool doodle and you'll be there for me anon. i love you

If it's any sort of comfort, I think the person trying to compliment your art style just didn't know how to go about it and used aesthetics to make sense of it. I personally don't your art as being "grunge" or "cottage core". It's very soft, thoughtful, understated in a way that I'm drawn to. Soft in the line work, the color choices, and even the way the stylization of characters. I think this gives the work that you do a comforting quality to it! It feels welcoming even :)
