Our hero is now a SUPERHERO!!! Transplant Day is here and we will have success the second time around!!! Big Buddy is feeling great and is in good spirits. I’m not always good at writing these things so I’ll just do what I do best. Take a picture. Our family can use prayers right now. Since last summer we have been on a tiring search to further understand Jackson’s medical condition. We’ve been to children’s hospitals in CT, Boston and ultimately Pittsburgh where we finally received our answers. While the diagnosis we received wasn’t what we wanted to hear, we were relieved to have some answers and start to develop a plan. So here we are in Pittsburgh, after two weeks of chemo to remove our son’s immune system, yesterday was Day 0, transplant day to replace his immune system and repair the defective gene that is attacking his nervous system. The procedure went well. He’s exhausted but doing well after the transplant. We are exhausted but also hanging in there. We’re going to be living in Pittsburgh for the next few months as our buddy recovers. Still we are grateful. We have grandparents, family and friends coming out to support us. Chinenye’s employer has been amazingly supportive on this journey. TimeFrozen Photography won’t have as much wedding cake this year but will rocking every wedding booked for 2019. Most importantly, we have our boy. We’re sharing these details because there are so many people on this platform that truly love this kid. His gift is his ability to make people around him smile. He’s also the toughest kid I’ve ever seen. We have a long battle ahead but this kid is going to win. Keep praying for him. Pray for a cure. Pray for the doctors. Pray for every sick kid.
