i love making funny calculators for things on desmos
#just made one to find the optimal travel time using a FTL method for one of my space settings#for instance if you want to go exactly 100 light years the optimal acceleration time is 41.107 hours before you stop accelerating#at which point you engage the warp drive#and then once you reach the destination you turn around and decelerate for 41.107 more hours#for a total travel time of around 164 hours#technically that's not fully optimal because it doesn't account for distance covered during acceleration#however#that would be a huge bitch to calculate#because while accelerating you only cover 1/200000~ of the distance covered while warp driving
