Alright so Amelia won the poll so she's the one I will be talking about first. My autism failgirl lesbian gunslinger who wants to kiss robots so bad it makes her look stupid.
Race is Plumetkith (Garuda-blooded Aasimar). So she has a few feathers, but isn't exactly birdlike.
Class is Techslinger Gunslinger, which is all about using high tech weaponry like lasers and railguns (Eventually. Those are expensive) to shoot people REAL dead.
Her party consists of a Barbarian Dudebro, a Rogue who won't stop touching buttons and a Scary Magus. (There is indeed no healer. Suffering.)
Originally from the magic dead zone that is the slums of Alkenstar (Steampunk land), her family moved to Numeria (Conan the Barbarian fights Robot Space Aliens land) to apply their mechanical expertise to the poorly studied and understood alien technology present in the area.
Amelia is... well she grew up in the slums, which is where she learned her... particular brand of medical expertise, got desensitized to violence and came to not really mind desecrating corpses. (These three are all related!)
However it also REALLY stunted her social growth (she has 6 charisma poor thang), and as a result she has severe social anxiety and a stutter. She will either tend to talk too much to make sure there's no possible way to misunderstand her, or talk too little, or have to use sign language because words are too much, or have to use body language because sign language is too much, or just be unable to communicate.
Both her parents are alive, but she has also been functionally adopted by the local tech-expert in the town she moved to and considers his daughter to be her sister. As a result of this, she has developed a heavy special interest in the Technology of the alien ruins spread about Numeria. She WILL yap about it. Her anxiety is no longer an issue when it is about tech. This is non-negotiable and she will assert herself. Prepare yourself.
Her escapades include:
Removing the head of a Guy she just killed because there was a tech implant there she couldn't get out of there without tools she didn't currently have on hand.
Spending about half a session in-depth exploring a Modern Bathroom on a crashed spaceship yapping to the party about how showers and modern plumbing works.
Wanting to fuck an android girl so badly it altered the narrative and said android managed to break out of a demigod's mindcontrol.
Outright fainted when it turns out said android KNOWS about her "Lesbian leaning tendencies" and announced such in front of everyone (Not that everyone couldn't tell already).
Explored the android's insides. In a medical/engineering context after the Demigod decided to punish the android for her transgression.
Her current weapon is a grappling gun she uses for murder rather than its intended purpose.

Techslinger (Gunslinger Archetype)
Tumblr media
In your average fantasy setting, gunpowder and the art of gunslinging are probably the upper tier of technological advancement in the world.
However, sometimes you want to play with some more fancy toys, be they relics from a forgotten age, bleeding-edge volatile experiments, or literally fell out of the sky on an ancient spaceship, as is the case for the country of Numeria in the Pathfinder core setting, where techslingers are most likely to be found.
While fully capable of using gunpowder firearms when needed, a techslinger is in their element when they finally get ahold of an advanced weapon, like a laser gun, a zero rifle, or one of the mighty weapons in the heavy category. They may barely understand how the weapon works, but their intuitive methods help them make the most of these powerful tools.
This archetype was definitely built with the timeworn and glitching rules in mind, so if you’re interested in a gun-toting character with weapons that are normally reliable, perhaps such a build would be more suited to Starfinder, but if your fantasy game dives into strange inventions and tech, perhaps you might find a use for it.
This archetype sports a number of unique deeds, the first of which allows them to get a surprisingly large number of shots out of a single battery, burning grit to retain a charge in the weapon, which is useful since timeworn items sometimes break down to the point they can no longer accept batteries. Whether this represents channeling grit directly into energy, fiddling with the settings to reduce consumption, or the sheer luck that grit partially represents is up to the player.
Additionally, they are exceptionally lucky when it comes to the unreliability of such weapons, glitches happening less frequently thanks to their grit.
Whether it is by a crude recharging action or something else, they can also temporarily add charges to a tech firearm, though these are fleeting, draining from the battery naturally if not used.
As long as they maintain their grit, they can even make use of their luck with the bigger weaponry they might find, unleashing devastating blasts with surprising finess.
Given their associated region, it only makes sense that these gunslingers can take the technologist feat as a bonus feat.
Additionally, like other gunslingers, they learn to specialize in specific weapons, though techslingers focus on specific models of the strange weapons they focus on.
Planning a campaign in a sword and raygun campaign? This archetype is perfect if you are fancying the gunslinger class, though obviously its use outside of that scenario is unlikely. The deeds associated with this archetype are less about providing a unique flavor and more about putting these gunslingers on part with their normal counterparts with their different weapon selection. In a way this makes them similar to the bolt ace, but in the opposite direction.
Build them as you would any gunslinger, but don’t forget how their deeds change the class. (honestly the charge recycling deed is only really good at later levels when you’re down to your last grit point and are running out of weapon charges, for example).
In a land where understanding of the strange alien technology that litters the landscape can bring great power, techslingers demonstrate power rarely seen outside of the technomancers. Many may live for the rush of using these weapons.
Raised by a caregiver robot in a peaceful nursery, Ilkas always wondered about the outside. When a power failure shut down the facility, he was forced to leave and fend for himself, discovering that he had been living on a section of an ancient advanced facility that had been running on backup power. He has seen much since then, including hints at the truth behind his shackleborn tiefling heritage, and has taken to collecting the strange firearms he finds for protection.
When the Ship of the Gods crashed into Bollino Swamp, it quickly was renamed Godpoison swamp, for the ship leaked deadly energies into the water, killing many, twisting others, including the mutated mosslord that rules over it now. Still, for those brave enough, deadly weapons that call lighting and burning light on foes wait for the right hand to grasp them.
The elemental weapons of Skyfall utilize a rare crystal which powers, redirects, and converts energy without the use of magic. However, none realized this crystal was the shed scales of a strange god dreaming beneath the ground. Now that the god is awakening, the weapons grow volatile and unpredictable.

Being a fan of both Overwatch and Pathfinder, I figured I’d try my hand at figuring out how I would make each of the Overwatch heroes as Pathfinder characters. There’s no levels listed or even any builds - these are just the alignment, race and class I’d go with if I were to play them in a Pathfinder campaign. In some cases, I tried to avoid the obvious (like making Genji a Ninja) to explore more out-of-the-box concepts - others were difficult because of the high-tech nature of Overwatch not meshing too well with the high-fantasy of the Pathfinder setting, but I think I found suitable matches for everyone.
Genji Shimada – NG Augmented Human Magus [kensai] Jesse McCree – CG Human Gunslinger [pistolero] Fareeha Amari – LG Human Paladin of Maat [holy gun] Gabriel Reyes – LE Mutant Human Inquisitor [sin eater/heretic] Jack Morrison – CG Human Vigilante [gunmaster] Lena Oxton – LG Human Fighter [mobile fighter] Sombra – CN Human Gunslinger [techslinger]
Bastion - N Robot Golem Gunslinger [siege gunner] Hanzo Shimada – LN Human Magus [eldritch archer] Jamison Fawkes – CN Human Alchemist [grenadier] Mei-Ling Zhou – NG Human Cryokineticist Torbjorn Lindholm – NG Human Wizard [seige mage] Amelie Gerard – NE Human Slayer [sniper]
Hana Song – NG Human Summoner [synthesist] Orisa – LN Robot Construct Skald [spell warrior] Reinhardt Wilhelm – LG Human Fighter [shielded fighter] Mako Rutledge – CN Half-orc Fighter [dirty fighter] Winston – NG Awakened Gorilla Barbarian [invulnerable rager] Aleksandra Zaryanova – LN Human Gunslinger [gun tank]
Ana Amari – NG Human Bard [arrowsong minstrel] Lúcio Correia dos Santos – CG Human Bard [arcane healer] Angela Zeigler – NG Human Cleric of Dalenydra [merciful healer] Satya Vaswani – LN Human Witch [dimensional occultist] Tekhartha Zenyatta – N Android Arcanist [white mage]

I haven't even finished Rivers Run Red but I’m already thinking how awesome it’d be if Owlcat made an Iron Gods game as a followup to Kingmaker. The Technic League would be a great link between the two.
For companions they could have
Lirianne, half-elf gunslinger, as the token iconic in place of Amiri
Octavia and Recnogar returning from Kingmaker, due to their hatred of the Technic League
Val Baine, human wizard
Meyanda, android ranger/ex-cleric of Hellion
Whiskifiss, ratfolk ranger
Dinvaya Lanalei, half-elf cleric of Brigh
Isuma, kasatha fighter/gunslinger (techslinger)
plus some original characters to fill the tank/melee fighter slot. I’m thinking a Low Templar type as a fighter, plus a Kellid savage technologist barbarian.

Base Class Review: Gunslinger part 3
Archetypes
Despite their focus on one weapon type, there is actually quite a variety of gunslinger archetypes out there, adding to possibilities and customization.
Some gunslingers, for example, focus on a very specific sort of weapon, changing their strategy to max. For example, firebrands focus on dragon pistols and alchemical explosives, while musket masters prefer fighting at extreme long range with their longarms. At the opposite end of the spectrum, pistoleros fight at close range with their pistols, while scatter gunners do the same with blunderbusses and dragon pistols. Meanwhile, Siege gunners make the most of siege weaponry, and bolt aces eschew firearms altogether in favor of using crossbows, perfect for using the gunslinger class in settings without the discovery of gunpowder. And who could forget the techslinger, who specializes in the ancient, battered high-tech weapons that are common around ancient crashed starcraft.
Others are defined instead by changes to the formula of the gunslinger, such as the highly acrobatic black powder vaulter, or the stealthy commando. Also consider how the gun tank forgoes agility entirely, absorbing hits while replying with their deadly weaponry. Meanwhile, the mysterious stranger seems to get by with pure luck and daring, rather than any expression of cunning.
Some are defined by their cultural interactions, like the cowardly braggarts: blatherskites, as well as the cunning cardsharks: mavericks.
Constantly modifying their firearms are the experiemental gunsmiths and the gun scavengers, though planar rifters modify their guns in another way, charging them with extraplanar energies.
A few gunslingers wield their weapons in the service of nobility, such as the gunner squire and thronewarden, the first being the support for gun-wielding knight, while the second being the quick-drawing royal guard that can put down assassins within seconds of their attack.
Though the gunslinger’s list of archetypes is relatively short, today’s listings are by no means comprehensive, for there are racial archetypes and others that don’t quite fit in with the broad categories here. Regardless, it’s easy to see how the formula of “have gun, will travel” can get much more nuanced than just pointing and shooting.
Tune in tomorrow for more thoughts on the class!
