This is a companion article to the PenHero article, "Wahl Engine Turned Designs on Fountain Pens Guide 1919-1929." That article is a more detailed chronology of the engine turned and machine engraved designs the Wahl Company used on their Tempoint (1918 to at least as late as 1920) and later Wahl branded fountain pens. It includes model numbers and prices, if known. This article is organized where the designs are in alphabetical order and is focused on photos and illustrations of each. Each section describes a design, when it was made, generally what pens it was used on (the pens themselves were updated over the eleven year period), the metals of each pen, and representative photos or illustrations to show each design.

This is a Wahl Tempoint model 520C Hand Engraved Design sterling silver ringtop fountain pen c. 1919. Each Wahl Tempoint Hand Engraved Design pen has a very detailed and deeply cut flower and leaf pattern on the cap and barrel. The barrel has an oval bordered cartouche for personalized engraving. There are no maker's marks on the cap and barrel, but both are stamped STERLING. The cap is also stamped PAT. JUL 5 1904 and the barrel is stamped PAT. JAN 25 1904. This 3 5/8 inch long pen is the smaller of two ringtop pens and is normally equipped with a Number 2 nib and sold for $10.00 in 1919. This example has a Number 3 size 14 karat gold nib, likely a replacement or upgrade. This version of the Hand Engraved Design pen, where the cap is larger in diameter than the barrel, appears in the 1919 catalog as a Tempoint model. Wahl "Tempoint" Fountain Pen, 1920.

This is a Wahl model 433A Colonial pattern 12 Karat Yellow Gold Filled fountain pen c1921-1924. It is the shortest, at 4 5/16 inches, of the three sizes of clip metal pens with the engine turned Colonial design, a straight line pattern on the cap and barrel. The barrel has a rectangular blank for engraving. It features a Number 3 14 karat gold nib stamped Wahl Tempoint Pen, possibly indicating that this is an early production pen. Wahl marketed pens under the Tempoint name at least as late as 1920 before branding their fountain pens as Wahl in 1921. The clip and cap top band are stamped with the Wahl name. Model 433 also came as a ringtop pen and a choice of 12 karat yellow gold fill or sterling silver for $7.00 or 14 karat green gold fill for $8.00. Matching Eversharp pencils were available for $5.00 and $6.00, respectively.
