This #ArtesaniaOaxaqueña showed us how the black clay pottery is made. So the clay begins as this brownish pile of quartz rich dirt in the foreground. Then it's molded and turned into pottery. It's then Sat out to dry. When it's dry, they take a quartz crystal and rub the sides so that it shines bright like a diamond. Then it's put in the kill and it develops that polished black look of that pot behind the guy. The only way to access the dungeon where Gregory was kept for 13 (or 30) years is to go down this narrow staircase about 15 meters deep. And finally on our #Karbie #KARBdashian #RainyDaysAndFriday Church Tour, we went to a mosque. Even after I had eaten the ham for breakfast I didn't buen when I walked in. This mosque serves the one thousand Muslims that live in Yerevan and the thousands of Iranian tourists that visit the city annually. The relationship with Iran is pretty solid in these parts. The Blue Mosque once kept all of the Armenian treasures but those have been moved go another museum so today this is strictly a place of worship. #travelporn #TezHumildePower Yerevan. The Saint Gayane Church also had a fresco painted over the door. This is not typical Armenian as they only display crosses and not icons or frescoes. I'm in complete awe of these ruins. Built in the seventh century this is only one of two known Armenian churches that were built in a circular form. On a clear day, you can see Mount Ararat in the background. But not so on our #Karbie #KARBdashian #RainyDaysAndFriday Church Tour. Regardless, the columns had such detail. The church was so beautiful. There was a representation inside the museum. Ok. One more. This is the petrified waterfall that's growing at the active Hierve el Agua springs. I wonder if anyone has ever plummeted to their death? These are the petrified waterfalls at Hierve El Agua. No more water runs over these because the channels have shifted to where I was standing. The calcium deposits have created the same effects as Pammukale, Turkey. I really tried walking over there but the heat was so intense. So I thought, "I've seen pammulale, I saw the water flowing here, I walked the calcium pools; just stop cuz mama 👵🏿 didn't raise a fool!" So I walked back. 76 flights climbed later... Hierve el Agua. The next stop on the #Karbie #KARBdashian #RainyDaysAndFriday tour included a stop at the cathedral. This is where Gregory the Illuminated saw Jesús strike the earth with a hammer and built the first church in 301. The original is in there surrounded by all the stone put around it in the centuries since then. Anyway, it's closed for renovations do we didn't go inside it. However a private exhibit hall was made available because the guide knew the priest who commanded we see the exclusive musem and waived the fees. #travelporn #TezHumildePower Echmiadzin.
