i realised last night i don't actually want robert back
#okay hear me out#in theory it's fantastic and I've been lost as much as anyone else in the fantasy of him returning to this version of aaron#but its clear that danny is in this job for life#ryan... is not#they had such a perfect ending the last time and for the most part they were treated so well as a couple#it just wrapped everything up in a nice little bow#i would rather have the excuse that they're not together because robert is in jail#than whatever bullshit the writers could come up with for Ryan's inevitable next exit#i don't know#obviously they have insane chemistry and I'd love to watch them again and I'd just love to watch ryan again#but we got so lucky with the way the show treated them#I'm not sure that kind of lightning can strike twice
