I'm ok - I both can't believe it's gonna be the end of January and also can't believe it's still January 😂. Work has not stopped being insane since I took over this new position but I'm thankfully still loving it. And I'm especially loving living in a place where I am no longer dealing with -40 celcius through the winter 😅. And Punzel babies? Well, they're living their happy life together in their flat. Eliott definitely refers to Lucas as his husband even though - as Lucas insists - they're too young to get married. Eliott thinks that's nonsense because he's been waiting what amounts to their entire lives and obviously they're going to be together for life anyways. But for that same reason, he's not too fussed about it - official papers or not, they are married in his mind. They've definitely added to their little fam and have a cat in addition to their pup Pascale. The cat absolutely rules their home (as cats are known to do) and is the only one who can get Pascale to stop being mouthy (Huskies you know 😂). Lucas would definitely complain the cat doesn't like him and play up that they have some sort of nemesis relationship. Only Eliott has caught Lucas curled up asleep on the couch with the kitty on his chest wrapped up in his arms more than once. Eliott would be a little jealous about the fact that he's the one who dotes on the kitty but she still seems to be an utter suck for Lucas... only, he's the exact same way so he can't blame her 😌. Second to Lucas, her fave is Idriss. Because this cat has ✨taste✨. I'm trying to think what they would name their kitty... probably something Rapunzel adjacent because they're saps... but I don't have a name popping to mind just yet.

And of course there are the fun dynamics of their relationship that they will probably always be figuring out. Like Lucas realizing (and relishing) in the power he has over Eliott and the way he can make Eliott's brain short circuit in any variety of ways (like saying something incredibly explicit in the middle of much more innocent activities like cooking dinner). Then Eliott will remember he no longer holds his Punzel in the 'look but don't touch' category and things work out quite nicely for both of them 😌. Basically... they're living their best lives figuring out adulthood and now jobs together ❤️.

This is a small piece of something I had in my mind for quite a while. I have several oc x Gortash fics in the making, but this is a part of the oldest one, even before Oathbreaker and the other little oneshots.

"I'll put it as plainly and as clearly as possible." He was glad his voice did not waver, not even as his heart was jumping up in his throat at the sight of her. "You will marry me. Now."

Now, both her brows raised up on her forehead, and she was seconds away from bursting out in laughter. Handsome as he was, how could he even say such a thing? She wasn't waiting for a human to sweep her off her feet; their lifespans were ridiculously short, and she wasn't ready for a relationship that serious, either. Especially with a man she did not know.

"I believe I heard you wrong", she said carefully then. Something in his eyes urged her not to laugh blatantly in his face. He looked so pale, exhausted; dressed in fine robes and gold. But his eyes. The feverish obsession in his eyes. Unyielding, dangerous. Demanding. "I don't even know who you are."

"I am Enver Gortash", he shifted closer to her, and she did not move from her spot where she stood. His eyes darkened even more as he stared in hers, his lips formed a thin line. He obviously did not take it well when someone said no to anything he was demanding. She tilted her head in wonder; Enver Gortash? Maybe she heard the name, in the small tavern, where people were talking about him; an inventor who started to make a name for himself in Baldur's Gate. And still, he did not give her another second to think this was anything short of serious. "And you will be my wife."

"I don't think I-"

"No, I don't think you have a choice", Enver snapped, disrupting her in the middle of her sentence, his patience wearing thin, "you can come willingly or screaming, I don't care. You can come with your home intact or obliterated, I don't care. I will have you. And I will have you now."

He did not believe that asking nicely would ever do anything for him in the long run. Asking nicely got him nowhere in the Hells. It was easier to demand, to take. Often without asking. The threats were made because he wanted her to come willingly; even if she knew the cost, he wanted her to walk beside him in peace.

And thankfully, she was no fool. She loved her family, and she loved those who lived at the outpost. Her face turned even paler when she realised this was no joke, and soon, she bowed her head to his will.

"Please, allow me to gather my belongings."

Her tone was soft, soft enough to soften his starved heart. He rested his hand on the pommel of his sword; a warning. There was no room for her to get clever ideas with him. She wouldn't win. And seeing the guards on wait nearby, she knew that as well.

"Don't take long", Enver nodded, and remained where he stood.

The dinner had been going smoothly, which was nice because it was sort of important. Many dignitaries were attending.

Then at some point, a servant came closer, and— Dimitri isn't sure what happened exactly. He'd been teasing Felix, delighting in the way he still flushed at the littlest endearment, and suddenly Felix was turning toward the servant and there was a cry, and then many shocked exclamations, and then— Felix, gasping and bringing a hand to his stomach, where a knife now rested.

Dimitri didn't take the time to look at the aggressor; he trusted his guards to do their job. Instead, he stood up quickly and sought out Mercedes with his gaze, already calling for her before he caught sight of her. She'd been on her way to them already, thankfully, as well as the healer on duty for the dinner.

As they fussed over Felix, Felix looked up to Dimitri and through gritted teeth, he said:

"Finish your fucking plate."

Before Dimitri’s panicked brain could process the words, Felix was out cold. Mercedes immediately reassured him that Felix would be fine and they'd take care of him. She said it all with a smile, clearly amused by Felix's words.

They left Dimitri perplexed when he finally calmed enough to truly understand them.

As Felix was being brought to the infirmary, Dimitri's gaze flickered between the doors and his plate, where half of his meal remained.

"I'm telling on you if you skip dinner, Your Majesty," Sylvain eventually said, next to him.

Dimitri frowned at him. "I am not eating while Felix has just been stabbed."

Sylvain raised his eyebrows. "Well, it's up to you, Your Majesty. You see if you wanna suffer the wrath of His High Grace the Duke Prince."

Dimitri grimaced. He looked down at his plate again, then to the doors. He sighed, and sat down.

I BEAT THE ARCHDEMON GUYYYYYSSS!!

YESSSSS!!! AHHHHH!!!

Near the end, everyone died bc all of the allied mages died (bro they only gave us 12????) and I forgot to call for any others, SOOOO I WAS THE LAST ONE EKQNSB. I hurriedly called soldiers from Arl Howe or whoever and then I just used the Balista over and over and killed it😌✌️.

Bro I was so anxious at that moment like I realized everyone died and ONLY Wynne had the revival feature, so I couldn’t revive anyone and I was just relying on those soldiers and this balista. I was literally so close to beating it and I would’ve cried if I died then. Thankfully nothing fell apart and I’m all right. It was ALSO MY FIRST TRY!!! On lvl 18 and that made me feel really great :).

And ALSO??? I chose to stay in court and I can be one of his advisors (literally…so cute…) and I also said that I’d stay in Denerim, and Alistair gives this cute and relieved little look and says, “Well, I wasn’t going to come right out and say it…but I’m glad you’ll be staying around.”

Or something along those lines BUT YEAH IT WAS SO SWEET😭😭.

YESSS!!! YESSSS BABES!!! The lovely couple get to stay together and gosh the part of him….swearing he’ll be back to her side even if he’s married and she’s just his mistress but HE LOVES HER!!! And he fell in love with her first….gosh I’m so sad and so in love.

The only my thing that made me sad was that we couldn’t see our Mabari after the battle :(. Like he whined at us when we left and I wish we could’ve at least petted him like😭.

By “replacement” I didn’t mean divorcing because of irrevocable differences… I was referring to the habit some men have of ditching whoever they’re dating the second they turn 30, and restarting the process with another woman.

First, “replacement” is a weird term.

Second, I’m not sure what you’re imagining when you’re thinking of trophy wives, but these days it’s not 20 year olds getting married to sleazy old guys. That largely fell out of popularity in the early 2010s. It’s successful, well educated women who have achieved a certain level of success themselves. When you’re out at these events, you see women standing alongside their partners, just as success oriented and ambitious as each other. They’re seen as the other brain in the pairing. There’s an acknowledgment that she has been an integral piece of whatever success has brought her partner to this place in the stars. The trophy part comes in when the bragging starts. Men want to be able to show off their beautiful, intelligent, girlboss (for lack of a better term) who makes them look better because they shine so brightly. She’s brilliant, she’s slightly ethereal, she’s confident. People know she can do it all on her own, so if she chose him, that must mean he really has something to offer. The trophy comes in catching the uncatchable.

Thankfully, people now frown upon using desperation to find a young woman to marry and show off. The men who do that aren’t exactly popular or seen as anything other than the sleazes they are.

So no, the risk of “replacement” is not real. There’s no “replacement” in the scenario I discussed above. There’s just divorce. Give women more credit and agency over their own lives please! 😌

As for other races Elves: I think it’s pretty much established that the Cousland family treats their elven servants exceptionally well so she’s magically not elf racist <3 She knows that elves aren’t exactly treated well by other humans and that breaks her heart, so she gets the hostility sometimes. Dwarves: Hm she doesn’t have much of an opinion on the race in general, only on Orzammar’s annoying political and societal structure :| it sucks. But well, surface dwarves are out there ig Qunari: The only Qunari she’s ever had any dealings with is Sten so she’s not really familiar with them… i cant think of that islamophobic writing without going crazy

Weeeellll before their little adventure she mostly wore dresses, of course. Her style as a teenager was more laid-back and casual, not like the more fashionable ladies at court or anything (in my mind fereldan fashion is a lot like 14th - 15th century English dress. not quite the same but similar). Hair worn down or in a long braid, sleeves pulled back, mud stains on the hemline and all that :| Of course that all changed after she became a warden, most of the time it was armor - nothing too heavy or decorative because they can’t afford it. In her downtime it’s mostly long shirts, a hose and those medieval pointy shoes. or boots, depending on the weather and camping situation. She misses her old dresses all of a sudden and tries to compensate for the lack of aesthetics with cute hairstyles. Which would be easier if she hadn’t chopped it all off to shoulder length :( Once the whole blight thing is dealt with and she moves to court to get married (❤) she settles into a neater, more decorated style befitting a queen. Of course she’ll always retain her more laid-back style in comparison to the previous queen lol… She’s a big fan of houppelandes (or well, the da equivalent) and starts to enjoy wearing hats like hennins or escoffions when she doesn’t have her hair neatly styled :-)

Besides Cedric and Rosalind, Alistair of course (obviously. he’s her boyfriend so she makes him tag along on any adventure), Morrigan and Zevran. Or Leliana instead of Zev, when he’s not coming with them.

Out of all my da protags she’s the only one who pretty much gets along with everyone, in some way. Oghren is certainly her least favorite companion though, she did like him in the beginning and thought he was funny, but over time she became really annoyed with him. The constant drinking, the sleazy comments… It’s not enough for her to kick him out though, she will take any help she can get, unfortunately.

What was their nightmare in the Fade during Broken Circle?

Her back in Highever, the day after Fergus and Bryce left for the war had Howe’s attack not happened :/ Her leaving her room to see Eleanor, Oriana and little Oren greet her in the family courtyard (along with her mom’s guests & Duncan but they don’t matter) and everything is alright and good, but somehow she can’t shake this feeling that there’s a catch to this, that something happened that makes this impossible. Turns out she’s right :/ Thankfully the effects of the fade don’t make her remember that much afterwards but. It wasn’t fun -_-

How did they react to seeing a loved one at the Temple of Sacred Ashes?

Not well, seeing Bryce again (or whatever that was), hearing his voice one more time felt comforting for a second (but also horrible) and then after like a minute he was gone again and it felt terrible -_- and everyone else is like “what da hell just happened 😂” [moves on to the next annoying puzzle] and estella is still standing there with tears in her eyes :> needless to say she had a good cry when they went back to camp
