literally feel like ulysses ogre any time i start trying to type out meta analysis posts about anything
#ignore me#but specifically abt metal gear recently. naturally.#i feel like a bunch of other people have written really good meta and im like. raising my hand and going#WAR IS BAD. BUT UM. THERES NUANCE RE: SOLDIERS AND THEIR PLACE IN SOCIETY.#i.e. metal gear is very anti war but also very concerned with the fate of those involved in war and how they r exploited#theyre not all blanket Bad People but they are shaped by their circumstances and you can see how they could be better in a better world#a world which its characters are constantly struggling to achieve and constantly losing once the next game starts#my bf said something really good abt the doomsday clock resetting every game - your successes and victories canceled out bc#you destroyed the metal gear last time but now it's Metal Gear 2 The Sequel To Metal Gear#or arsenal gear or a weapon to surpass metal gear or the entire world controlled by an ai#that grew in the primoridal soup of the american white house. look it's complicated#POINT IS. waaaahh i wanna write about this stuff but i feel underqualified and juvenile when i try#the only way to get better is to suck at it for a while. scary though. i don wanna
