Thoughts.

I love my selfship bubble actually. One, I have low spoons 95% of the time, so I simply don't have it in me to be more active in reaching out. Two, I'm overall a very introverted person. Interacting (both doing and receiving) can be really draining and it's not something I care that much about. Even irl there's like one friend I keep up with, and we literally live together now and Still don't interact daily! Don't need much else to be content. I created this blog back in late 2019 as more of a journal than something meant for a community. And I'm fine leaving it that way. Yeah, sometimes I'd like to reach out more than I do (and of course it's nice when people reach out to me), but I don't think it's "selfish" of me to wanna do my own thing lol

While looking at some posts from selfshippers, I noticed that they’d kinda like.. put periods in between the names of the characters and their source?

EX: P.eepers from W.ander O.ver Y.onder

Why exactly do folks do this? Is it so their post can still be kinda hidden from the fandom of the source? I’m still pretty new to this stuff so sorry if I’m not understanding! :,D

The way Tumblr works, if you search things in the search bar, like let's say you search for the fandom blorgus(made up thing), any posts tagged blorgus will appear, but ALSO any posts with the word blorgus in it will come up as well.

I censor all the names and fandoms because I don't want to be talking about stuff on my selfshipping blog, especially gushing or saying a character I love is my boyfriend/partner/etc. And it appears in main tags, and someone gets the funny idea to send some nasty words or something such.

Like if I make a post that says blorgus is my boyfriend, even if I don't put any tags on the post, if someone searches for blorgus the post could still appear, cause tumblr also searches for words in the post, if that makes sense!

I also censor just any character or fandom I talk about, cause I personally like to keep selfshipping posts seperate from main fandom posts cause I'm paranoid about people sending some unkind words, or especially on this blog, people hunting down others to send unkind words.

I have also seen some people censor names with slashes as well!! Like they'll do Blo//gus or B/lorgus, etc.

It's a personal preference thing though!
