Omg that grooming sesh, is the cutest thing! I can imagine Gibson not being too thrilled having to do it or having it be done to him (I feel like he'd freak a little if there were any bugs on him) but doing it anyway cause it makes the team happy. May I also raise the possibility of everyone having a favorite partner to groom with? Like they all would groom each other, but they seek out someone in particular if they can? Like, Otto goes to Gibson the most, or Nova going to Sprx at first pick.

Yeah thats what im talking about! Is team time Gibson, join the fun! (Plus if he does have any the they would gladly get rid of it in a sec)

And while I like the idea of them all grooming each other in a rotation for team bonding they would definitely have a fav one to groom/be groomed by

YES AND IMAGINE THIS:

Is after the Ghost of the machine ep and is the first time in a while they actually had some time to groom, it’s been a busy couple of days! But the team just was in a dumpster so they might as well get some cleaning done while they can. And while Chiro usually joins them to at least chat he REALLY needs a shower so he let them be the moment the topic arrives.

They sit and chat, deciding who does whom first and what not but then they notice there is only four of the five monkeys. Or they heard the tube activate before they notice one of them is missing. it takes them no more than a sec to know and the colored monkeys look at each other sadly for a moment.

The silver monkey is on the way to his room thought better to spend some time alone instead. To be fair he is exhausted with all that happened, more mentally than physically but now… is kind of the same? His brain tells him how much energy he has left and it is enough for a while but the weight of what just happened…

He is a machine now, a fully mechanic being. Solid silver where the team has flesh and fur. There wont be any bug or dirt that stays in his body for long to be a problem. 

It was a sacrifice that needed to be made. He doesn’t regret it and would do it again in a second if the team need it… But for the first time, while being held hostage back there… he realised the huge gap between him and the Monkey team.

He doesnt have lot of time to brood or meditate before he hears a knock on his door. To his surprise he is dragged back to the common room by Sprx and Gibson, complaining that he never let them skip grooming time unless strictly necessary and he wont get to do that now. 

(He heard the worry in their voices and the apology in Sprx eyes so he goes along)

The next hour or so is the usual chatting over grooming time, switching partners and the like. The main difference is, however, Otto and Gibson checking on Antauri’s new body for the first time, learning what does what and patching if necessary. Eventually teaching Nova and Sprx how to do it when is their time to groom Antauri. The weigh in the silver monkey’s chest is… at least a bit lifted

And thats why Sprx and Nova knew how to deactivate him in Night of Fear.
