………………………………………
Luang Phu Suang
Luang Phu Suang was a monk from Cambodia that is very respectful among Thais and Cambodians along the boarder. Luang Phu Suang was called “tay-wá-daa dern din” in Thai which means “a Deva Walking on Earth” by his Looksit (disciples / followers /adherents/ worshippers / devotees). Luang Phu Suang passed away on September 8, BE 2543 (CE 2000), and his body remains unrotten, and on display in a glass casket in the Mondop Prasat Luang Phu Suang Pavilion at Wat Phrai Phatthana, Si Sa Ket Province for people to pay respect. Luang Phu Suang is called “Luang Ta Bok or Luang Eaw Bok” by Cambodians.
No one knows when Luang Phu Suang was born, and how old he actually was. Many people said they saw Luang Phu Suang that old since they were young, some at the age of 7, but they are now over 80. For instance, Luang Phu Soi, an abbot of Wat Liab Rat Bamrung, Bangkok. Luang Phu Soi was originally from Cambodia, and passed away in BE 2542 / CE 1999 (76 years old). Luang Phu Soi said that he saw Luang Phu Suang in Cambodia and Thailand since Luang Phu Soi was a novice, and Luang Phu Suang was very old and never change. Luang Phu Soi invited Luang Phu Suang to join the consecration/blessing ceremonies of the amulets at Wat Liab Rat Bamrung so many times. And Luang Phu Hong, an abbot of Wat Phet Buri, Surin Province, passed away in BE 2557 / CE 2014 (97 years old), and Luang Phu Boh, an abbot of Wat Ban Bing, Si Sa Ket Province, passed away in BE 2555 / CE 2012 (90 years old) also said they saw Luang Phu Suang that old since they were young monks.
Luang Phu Suang was a loner, and did not like staying at the temple. Luang Phu Suang did not require anything luxury or comfort his life was simple, just a alms bowl, and an old monk robe. Luang Phu Suang loved staying in the area of villagers in an isolated small hut alone. Where Luang Phu Suang was staying Luang Phu Suang would make a mark, a kite made of his monk robe or white paper, and tied up a kite on a top of a bamboo pole for his Looksit (disciples / followers /adherents/ worshippers / devotees) to visit him if they needed help. And a “must have” was a bon fire that would never be extinguished 24/7. Luang Phu Suang would practice “Grasin Fire”, the meditation that relies on a bon fire to meditate. Sometimes his looksit offered him stuffs for his living, Luang Phu Suang would toss those stuffs in the bon fire.
Luang Phu Suang was a very kind monk with compassion, and never be angry to anyone, Luang Phu Suang kept smiling at all time. The biography and the origin of Luang Phu Suang is still a mystery til these days.

Hi! If your ask box is still open for F!wwx asks, I would love to know about Yanli getting to know Yan'er, since it sounds like they had a little bit of time together before Yanli died?
midnight sun - snippet 15
Jiang Cheng knew nothing about medicine or healing, but even he understood that his sect sister was damaged in a terrible way.
The mood on the day he took Jiang Yan away from the Burial Mount was somber. He left while Wei Wuxian slept as per her request. Go while I’m asleep. No goodbyes.
He watched her lie there on her rock, with straws for mattress and a tattered quilt for blanket. Her fever had broken, mercifully, but his sister was bone thin and ghost pale. The Burial Mount was hardly habitable for the healthy; it went without saying that without some kind of intervention, Wei Wuxian was not long for this world.
Wen Qing came up beside him, placing a bowel of watery congee on the table. When she met his furrowed gaze, he saw the truth behind the fear in her eyes.
“Please.” Was all she said.
Jiang Cheng nodded. “Do your part, and I’ll do mine.”
“Always, Jiang-zongzhu.”
~~~
When they met again, some months later, Jiang Cheng was glad to see Wei Wuxian much improved. Wen Qing had made use of the discreet supplies and medicine he’d send in secret to the Burial Mount and nursed her stubborn patient back to health.
Jiang Yanli, however, was shocked by the change she saw in her beloved sister. “A-Xian, meimei, you’ve grown so thin. Are you not well?” Jiang Yanli touched a hand to Wei Wuxian’s face, thumbing that cheekbone too sharp for her liking. “The Burial Mount must be so terrible...”
“Aiyo, I am very well, shijie. It’s nothing! Look at you, you are gorgeous in your wedding dress! Jin Zixuan would swoon!”
When Jiang Yanli left momentarily to give Wen Ning his share of her lotus pork bone soup, Jiang Cheng whispered, “She’s well. You needn’t worry. A-jie dotes on her constantly.”
“Does shijie know?”
“No. No one knows.”
They ate their soup in silence.
Jiang Cheng did not tell Wei Wuxian that he missed her for the both of them.
~~~
It was a foolish thought, in retrospect, to think he could hide this from Jiang Yanli forever. His firstborn sister was always more perceptive than anyone gave her credit for.
“Kneel, A-Cheng.”
On the third day after her wedding, a day reserved for the bride and groom to visit the bride’s maiden home and pay respect to her parents, Jiang Cheng returned in the early hours before dawn from a night-hunt to learn that his sister had already arrived. He found Jiang Yanli in their ancestral hall, alone, her new husband no where in sight, holding a sleeping Jiang Yan in her arms.
“A-jie...what is -”
“Kneel.”
The anger in that single command dropped him to his knees, “A-jie, I —”
“Tell me, what exact use do you have for so much high-grade aged ginseng?”
It was then that Jiang Cheng noticed the open account book on the floor before him, dated approximately four months ago.
“Ginseng, dang-gui, e-jiao, bai-shao - you made extra purchases of these specific herbs in large quantities even though our apothecary is well stocked and our disciples are healthy. Five silkie chickens and fresh spinach? In the middle of winter? Why did you need fresh spinach in the middle of winter? And why was I not aware of it?”
“A-jie -”
“I am a woman, A-Cheng, and soon to be a mother. I am not ignorant of these things.” Jiang Yanli turned to him then, tears welling in her eyes, furious beyond words. “Yan’er is almost four months old. Tell me the truth. She’s A-Xian’s, isn’t she?”
Jiang Cheng shook his head in rampant denial. “She isn’t! Yan’er isn’t!”
“Do not lie to me!”
Reaching out, Jiang Cheng clung to his sister’s new rose-gold robes and begged, “Please, a-jie, I made a promise. I promised. Yan’er isn’t. She isn’t, because I promised.”
Jiang Yanli squeezed her eyes shut, shaking. Then, with a shuddering breath that escaped as a sob, she fell to her knees before the altar, clutching her baby niece to her chest. Her brother shuffled forward and wrapped his arm around them. In silence, he shared her tears, expulsing everything unspoken and unspeakable.
After a while, Jiang Yanli said, “I want to bring her home. Our sister, she belongs here, at Lotus Pier, not at that wretched place. Bring her home, A-Cheng, whatever the cost.”
“I’ll try, a-jie. I’ll try.”

My Dearest Uilleam DeReve,
Despondency with reality. Or is it delighted? One can never remember when it oscillates too violently between the two, as I often feel like a glass bottle broken over an intoxicated man’s head and a brush of a wilting flower petal against the tip of my fingers. People say that everything is sentient, perhaps in the definition of what one believes to be sentience to be, but sentient all the same. The birth of my own universe, the Big Bang, so to speak, wasn’t the most exemplifying moment of my waking, as Tundra held an equilibrium of aggravated suffering and agony, only exacerbated by hunger for blood and devotion to see the corrupted Lin Kuei perfected.
I had been reckless and my heart endangered, and out of the stygian blue, I faced no sunshine as once-kaleidoscopic sky caved inward, with all of my invisible scars gaping open beneath the serrated arctic tundra and unfathomable sea ice, roughly scraping to erode my conscious. I had constructed stories in order to live, or to justify taking lives, even my own - by violence or by numbness and the failure to live. Once, my own cryomancy became the quicksand in which I thrashed and the well in which I drowned in Its justification, or accursedness, or versions clad in the cynicism that at times became a very elegant garment over my optimistic heart.
Sometimes, in my nightmares, the story I had in my heart would collapse, and demand that I recognize what had been lost, of all its terror, destruction and multitudes of loss all over again. Yet, in my shattering and crumbling through such revelations no one has ever heard of before, I will let the natural flow of my life’s pathway assail me, lest I will be further consumed by my head being buried under the darkness of the pillow and all the darkness that would cause the glistening glass of my being to thaw and melt in a muddied puddle. For such is the quiet tendrils of fire of my human heart, still retaining its warmth and stifling heat at times. I could never barricade nor repress them, as much as I have strenuously attempted to.
I express sincere gratitude for letting me have a chance to spill them all, without having to consider being judged in any way. No longer, the glacier separation of my hardened heart will prevent me from seeing the truth as they are, Dream Master, and I indeed wish to become the same figure towards the Lin Kuei trainees, as I continue to serve as their Grandmaster.
Best Wishes,
Sub-Zero (Grandmaster Kuai Liang).

Quote
Without prior belief in the resurrection, belief in Jesus as  Messiah would have been impossible in light of his death. The resurrection turned catastrophe into victory. Because God raised Jesus from the dead, he could be proclaimed as Messiah after all (Acts 2:32, 36). Similarly for the significance of the cross--it was his resurrection that enabled Jesus' shameful death to be interpreted in salvific terms. Without it, Jesus' death would have meant only humiliation and accursedness by God; but in view of the resurrection it could be seen to be the event by which forgiveness of sins was obtained. Without the resurrection, the Christian Way could never have come into being. Even if the disciples had continued to remember Jesus as their beloved teacher, they could not have believed in him as Messiah, much less deity

………………………………………………………
Luang Phor Ophasi of Asom Bang Mot, living between BE 2441 to BE 2498 (CE 1898 to CE 1955)
Luang Phor Opasi was born, Chuan Maliphan in BE 2441 at Ban Trok Faifa, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province with 7 siblings. At the age of 5, Chuan started his primary study and became a novice at the age of 13 at Wat Tai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, but Wat Tai did not teach Pali, so Chuan moved to Wat Tha Pho. His teacher noticed that Chuan was a smart student and advised him to go to big city to complete his Buddhism study. Then Chuan travelled to Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Bangkok.
Chuan or Pra Maha Chuan liked to study and learned to speak several languages such as English, Tamil, Malay, Japanese, Pali and others. Pra Maha Chuan was a disciple of Luang Phor Kob of Wat Khao Sarika, Lopburi Province. Although they had never met each other personally, they communicated through telepathy during their meditations and thus Luang Phor Kob taught Pra Maha Chuan all his knowledge and the unique mediation through candle light (Grasin Fire). Luang Phor Kob himself had developed a technique of mediation that is based on the concentration on a flame. Luang Phor Kob had a great capacity to meditate without any interruption for as long as 40 days without any breaks.
When Pra Maha Chuan reached the highest level of study, His behavior started to change in a strange way, it was started from the technique of staring at the flame with continued attention for long period. He observed the precepts strictly, and in particular refused all the offerings given by any people. He tossed all gifts to the bonfire by saying that these objects were temptations which will make him unhappy and that the fire was the solution to this problem. On one occasion, Pra Maha Chuan failed to put out the fire at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, this made the villagers very unhappy. They didn't understand why Pra Maha Chuan behaved like this. This leads to many villagers thinking that he had simply become insane. Pra Maha Chuan was requested to leave Wat Bowonniwet Vihara but he was then invited to go to Asom Bang Mot, Bang Mot, Bangkok by a White-robe Master, Archan Bow.
While Pra Maha Chuan was staying at Asom Bang Mot, he called himself “Ophasi”, and people called him Luang Phor Ophasi ever since. Luang Phor Ophasi became very famous for his supernatural ability and fortune telling. Luang Phor Ophasi soon became that well- known that visitors came from far places to have Luang Phor Ophasi foresee their future or to ask Luang Phor Ophasi to perform a miracle for them, that made Luang Phor Ophasi too busy, and skipped his meditation practice. Luang Phor Ophasi then decided to give out amulets as gifts to those which would carry them and to give them to the visitors that asked him to predict their future, and ask them to leave Luang Phor Ophasi in peace. During these years Luang Phor Ophasi also made other amulets such as the Garuda amulet, portraits of himself and King Rama V. Nowadays these amulets are all in collectors’ hands. Many copies were made, and it is extremely difficult to get the authentic items made or blessed by Luang Phor Ophasi.
In BE 2498, Luang Phor Ophasi and two of his disciples were invited to a Buddhist gathering in India that was held on October 28. Luang Phor Ophasi told his two disciples to leave before him and that he would join them later. He also told them that he will not be on the spot before October 31 and to inform the organizers of his delay and the date of its arrival. On that day October 31, many of his disciples went to the Bangkok airport to wish him a happy voyage, but Luang Phor Ophasi did not show up. Unfortunately, a few days later the death of Luang Phor Opasi was announced. In the evening of Oct 30, Luang Phor Opasi himself told the monks at Asom Bang Mot that he was going to remain in meditation for several days and not to disturb him under any circumstance, then he went into the monk house. On October 31, BE 2498, an anxious monk decided to open Luang Phor Ophasi’ monk house and observe whether Luang Phor Ophasi were well or not, he entered the monk house to find Luang Phor Ophasi had passed away.
During this time, in India, the two disciples of Luang Phor Opasi attended the Buddhist gathering in the company of Luang Phor Ophasi. Luang Phor Ophasi had conversation with many other Buddhists dignitaries and even gave a speech to hundreds of people, even photos of this occasion were took.
Luang Phor Ophasi said goodbye to his two disciples, and told them that he was going to return to Thailand only by other means of transport. When they came back, the disciples had a hard time believing the news of Luang Phor Ophasi's death, everyone believed that they had become insane when they said to have spent the days in Luang Phor Ophasi’s company. Only the testimony of several other monks present and the photographs in India of Luang Phor Ophasi proved the veracity of their incredible history.
Each year at Wat Luang Phor Ophasi, Bangkok, the coffin of Luang Phor Opasi is opened, his body has not decomposed. The changing of his monk robe and a manicure, and grooming of his hair is provided. This is a common thing regarding monks that have become enlightened, the body will not decompose or if the body is burned the bones will turn to relics.

Buddha on 5 tiers
The amulet with Buddha seating on a 5 tiers, the 5 tiers refers to Benja-sean / Benja-tham which is  Buddhist five precepts.The Five Precepts are the Buddhist version of a code of conduct or rules to help people behave in a moral and ethical way. Buddhists should follow the Five Precepts to ensure they are living a morally good life. This helps them to get rid of suffering and achieve enlightenment.
The five precepts are as follows:
1. Refrain from taking life. Not killing any living being. For Buddhists, this includes animals, so many Buddhists choose to be vegetarian.
2. Refrain from taking what is not given. Not stealing from anyone.
3. Refrain from the misuse of the senses . Not having too much sensual pleasure. For example, not looking at people in a lustful way or committing adultery.
4. Refrain from wrong speech. Not lying or gossiping about other people.
5. Refrain from intoxicants that cloud the mind. Not drinking alcohol or taking drugs, as these do not help you to think clearly.
It is important to practice the precepts over time as they are not always easy to carry out. The main aim of a Buddhist is to get rid of suffering, and therefore following the Five Precepts is important as they help Buddhists to avoid causing others to suffer. Following the Five Precepts is linked to karma, as these count as skillful actions, which produce good consequences.

Thus, showing him as an emaciated renouncer relates to his enlightenment and his status as a yogic ascetic who has ultimate control over his body). In Buddhism, fasting is considered a method of purification. Fasting in Buddhism is to develop control of one’s attachments so the mind can be freed to develop higher awareness. Also fasting can be done so that one restricts from a pleasure (food) and dedicate it to someone sick, in need or dying. After 18 materials are crushed in fine powder, and then added holy powder, water from 7 wells, and plaster cement as binder. The resultant putty was then rolled into cylinders or slender sticks and dried. During the mixing process of these holy materials, the rituals were performed, the offerings were presented to Buddha, Holy Guru Monks, Devas, Masters (teachers), and holy spirits. The ceremonies were held in the temple buildings in front of the Principle Buddha Statue, and monks were saying sermons to invite Buddha, Holy Guru Monks, Devas, Masters (teachers), and holy spirits to bless on the holy powders. The formulas are written accordingly to the ancient scriptures, and while drawing them, the monk must say sermons and prayers to invite the power of Buddha, Devas, and holy ghosts of departed master or guru monk to accumulate their power in the molecule of the powder. At the end of each writing, monk will then erase the formulas of cabalistic writings, and keep the chalk dust in a container for further making Buddha amulets.
The Pong Viset Ha Pragaan must be made orderly, beginning with 1)Pong Pattamang, 2)Pong Itthijay, 3)Pong Maharaj, 4)Pong Buddhakhun, and 5)Pong Tri Nisinghe.
The first holy powder or the precursor to make Pong Viset Ha Pragaan is Pong Pattamang Holy Powder by drawing the formulas of Pattamang cabalistic writings with sermons and prayers. After the completion of Pong Pattamang Holy Powder, it will be divided into 2 parts, one as “Pong Pattamang”, and another one is for making of the next Pong Itthijay Holy Powder. Then returning to the first process of making the chalk sticks and then follow the second process to drawn Itthijay cabalistic writings with sermons and prayers, and keep repeating the processes for the next 3 holy powders.

Dvaravati
Dvaravati was an ancient Mon political principality from the 6th century to the 11th century that was located in the region now known as central Thailand. It was described by Chinese pilgrims in the middle of the 7th century as a Buddhist kingdom named To-lo-po-ti situated to the west of Isanapura (Cambodia) and to the east of Sri Ksetra (Burma). Dvaravati also refers to a culture, an art style, and a disparate conglomeration of principalities of Mon people. Archaeological research over the past two decades or so has revealed the presence of a "Proto-Dvaravati" period which spans the 4th to 5th centuries, and perhaps earlier.
Dvaravati lost its importance after the rise of the Angkor in the lower Mekong basin around the 11th–13th centuries. In the 14th century, one of its main principalities, Si Thep, was almost left abandoned, while the remaining was split into the city-state confederation of Suphannabhumi in the west and the Lavo Kingdom in the east. However, a new kingdom, Ayutthaya, was subsequently founded southward on the bank of the Chao Phraya River in 1351, as the succeeded state,[1] as its capital's full name referred to the Kingdom of Dvaravati; Krung Thep Dvaravati Si Ayutthaya (Thai: กรุงเทพทวารวดีศรีอยุธยา). All former Dvaravati principalities, Lavo, the northern cities of the Sukhothai Kingdom, and Suphannabhumi, was later incorporated to the Ayutthaya Kingdom in 1388, 1438, and the mid-15 century, respectively.
According to an inscription on a bronze gun acquired by the Burmese in 1767, when Ayuthia, Siam's capital at the time, fell to an invading Burmese force, the Burmese still referred to Ayutthaya as Dvaravati. Several genetic studies published in the 2020s also founded the relations between the Mon people and Siamese people (Central Thai people) who were the descendants of the Ayutthaya.

……………………………………………………..
Yant Nam Tao
The Yant Nam Tao (cabalistic writings in gourd shape) or Yant Pakawamphee (Pra Pidta) or Yant  Pra Sangkajai was created by Somdej Pra Buddha Khosachan (Chareon Yannaworatain), an ex-abbot of Wat Thep Sirin between BE 2441 to BE 2494 (CE 1898 to CE 1951).
It is a formula of 3 lines of cabalistic writings with 6 ancient Khmer characters, the top one is A refers to Arahang or Buddha. The 2nd line is with U and Ma, U refers to Uttamatham, a Dharma, the truths that the Buddha revealed, and Ma that refers to Maha Sanggla, the community of Great Buddhist monks who follow the path of Buddha. The 3rd line is with Pa Ka A, the Pa refers to Buddha, the Ka refers to Khosa, and the A refers to Archan or Chan in short, these 3 characters means “Buddha Khosachan” himself who created this formula of cabalistic writings. And then, the 3 lines of cabalistic writings are put inside a frame of gourd shape or Pra Kawanphee or Pra Sangkajai.
Pra Pakawamphee or Pra Pidta (Closing Eyes Buddha) was an Arhat and a disciple of Lord Buddha whose appearance was charming and gorgeously handsome, and people always mistaken him to Buddha and offered him better offerings than other monks, so Pra Pakawamphee turned himself to a fat monk and sealed his face with his 2 hands when he was in his meditation (Pra Pidta / closing eyes Buddha), to blind people around him. So the gesture of Pra Pidta became type of amulet with magical influence to blind people around you with magic charm, and your gaiety and wit would enchanted them all…
Pra Sangkajai / Pra Sangkachai
In Thailand, Budai is sometimes confused with another similar monk widely respected in Thailand, Pra Sangkajai or Sangkachai. Pra Sangkajai, a Thai rendering of Maha Kaccana or Mahakaccayanathera, was a Buddhist Arhata (inSanskrit) or Arahant (in Pali) during the time of the Lord Buddha. Lord Buddha praised Pra Sangkadchai for his excellence in explaining sophisticated dharma(or dhamma) in an easily and correctly understandable manner. Pra Sangkajai (Maha Kaccana) also composed the Madhupinadika Sutra (Madhupindika Sutta MN 18).
One tale of the Thai folklore relates that he was so handsome that once even a man wanted him for a wife. To avoid a similar situation, Pra Sangkachai decided to transform himself into a fat monk. Another tale says he was so attractive that angels and men often compared him with the Buddha. He considered this inappropriate, so disguised himself in an unpleasantly fat body.
Although both Budai and Pra Sangkajai may be found in both Thai and Chinese temples, Pra Sangkajai is found more often in Thai temples, and Budai in Chinese temples. Two points to distinguish them from one another are:
1.Pra Sangkajai has a trace of hair on his head (looking similar to the Buddha’s) while Budai is clearly bald.
2.Pra Sangkajai wears the robes in Theravadin Buddhist fashion with the robes folded across one shoulder, leaving the other uncovered. Budai wears the robes in Chinese style, covering both arms but leaving the front part of the upper body uncovered.
The power of Yant Nam Tao or Yant Pakawamphee or Yant  Pra Sangkajai, it is believed that Yant Nam Tao creates a spell that makes people around you temporary blind to the charm of you. People will be kind to you, and support you no matter what. It brings continuous growth and multiplication in wealth, money luck, and good fortune. Maha Larp (it brings lucky wealth), Metta Maha Niyom (it makes people around you love you, be nice to you, and willing to support you for anything), Kaa Kaai Dee (it helps tempt your customers to buy whatever you are selling, and it helps attract new customers and then keep them coming back, Klawklad Plodpai (it pushes you away from all danger), Maha-ut (it helps stop gun from shooting at you).
……………………………………………………..
Yant Ma-a-u
The Ma-a-u Cabalistic Writings means “I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Buddhist Monk”, also refers to the Three Jewels, Triple Gem, or Three Refuges are the supports in which a Buddhist takes refuge by means of a prayer or recitation at everyday life.
These Three Jewels are:
The Buddha, the fully enlightened one
The Dharma, the teachings expounded by the Buddha
The Buddhist Monk, the monks who practice the Dharma.

Chao Khun Norrarath Rachamanit (Chao Khun Nor) was born on Saturday, 5th Febuary BE2440 and was the eldest of the family of 5 children. He was in the first group of students of the 1st Official University of Kingdom Siam, later known as Chulalongkorn University. After completing his studies, Chao Khun Nor became an officer of the Royal House of King Rama VI. He became the closest attendant to the King and he was promoted to serve at the King’s chamber and attended to the King’s daily needs. After the death of the King Rama VI, Chao Khun Nor was devastated. He left the palace in BE 2468.
His parents wanted him to get married with a lady teacher after seeing Chao Khun Nor was in lament over the death of the King. However, before the marriage would be engaged, Chao Khun Nor told his parents that he wanted to enter monkshood.
Chao Khun Nor ordained on 23th March BE 2468 at Wat Thepsirintravas, a day before King Rama VI was cremated. He became a monk as thamboon (making a merit) for the King Rama VI. Chao Khun Nor was a devoted vegetarian who consumed only a meal a day and decided never to leave the monkshood. He was ordained by Somdej Phra Buddha Ko-sacharn (Charoen), who was also his preceptor. Phra Putwiriyaaigon, the abbot of Wat Sommanatwiharn and Phra Udon Seelahkon Wat Thepsirin were the Dhamma teachers.
STRICT OBSERVANCE OF THE 227 PRECEPTS
It is widely believed that Chao Khun Nor could accurately predict the future by looking at finger and palm prints. When the villagers heard of that ability, all of them flocked to the temple asking him to tell them their future but they were declined by Chao Khun Nor. Despite that, many people continued to visit Chao Khun Nor very often even though they know that they will most probably go back empty handed. They all came for an assortment of reasons ranging from offering presents, to seek a guidance about their problems and to ask Chao Khun Nor about their future lives. Chao Khun Nor was very uncomfortable, pity and sad with all these human beings.
When the villagers offered things to Chao Khun Nor, Chao Khun Nor advised them to bring those to other monks as he strictly observed the 227 provisions of moral precepts. Chao Khun Nor also mentioned that one would similarly accumulate merits when giving offerings to other monks. This made the villagers unhappy and felt that Chao Khun Nor looked down on them. They people brought the matter up to Somdej Phra Buddha Kosacharn (Charoen).
When Somdej Phra Buddha Kosacharn heard this, he asked Chao Khun Nor about this matter. Chao Khun Nor explained that the reason he did not accept the offerings or attendance from the villagers because he was ordained for the purpose of making a merit to King Rama VI. Besides that, he also needed to maintain good concentration in order to study the teachings of Buddhism. In order to succeed, he needed to have no connections to the outside world. All the people who came to visit him brought along the troubles of the world, which adversely affected his concentration. When Somdej Phra Buddha Kosacharn heard his reason, he sympathized and agreed with him.
Chao Khun Nor had strictly observed the 227 precepts, he did not accept any form of offerings from the villagers. The room in which he lived was very empty and consisted of only the basic necessities. There was even no electric lighting. Chao Khun Nor did all his readings in the daytime. When Chao Khun Nor went back to his room, he would lock the door and stay inside. No one ever knew what he did in his room and he never came out to receive guests. He never accepted anything from anyone with the exception of his nephew who would bring vegetarian food from his mother. Chao Khun Nor spent most of his time in his monk’s house.
At the temple, they placed some skeletons of dead people to aid the monks in the development of their insight. The intention was to remind the monks that the female body would eventually resemble this ugly state so that they will refrain from sex and impure thoughts as well as to reinforce the rule of impermanence. LP Parn of Wat Bang Nom Kho Ayutthaya also practiced in such a manner.
WATER AFTER WASHING CHAO KHUN NOR’S FEET COULD CURE SICKNESS
It is a daily routine for Chao Khun Nor to walk back to the monk’s house. There were 2 things that were significantly different with him. Firstly, he did not wear any slippers like the villagers and walked around barefeet. The second and most remarkable was that he always walked on tip-toes and his heels never touched the ground. No one knows why he walked like that but it was assumed that it was a kind exercise for his leg muscles. Before stepping into the monk’s house, he would wash his feet in a basin and dry them.
A village was hit by a deadly disease and one of the villagers was instructed to bring an empty bottle to Chao Khun Nor to ask for some holy water to try to cure his fellow villagers but was declined. The villager had no idea what to do and how to get holy water from CKN to appease the villagers. Out of desperation, he decided to take water from the basin used for washing Chao Khun Nor’s feet and brought it back to his place to give to the sick. Nobody knew the origins of the water and what it was used for. After those sick people drank the water which they thought was holy water given by Chao Khun Nor, all of them were miraculously cured. This greatly puzzled the man who brought back that water to the village.
When this rumor spread out, people who heard it, then all rushed towards Wat Thepsirin to ask Chao Khun Nor for this special holy water but he denied having given any to anyone much to their disappointment. When the villagers heard Chao Khun Nor’s reply, they were all very confused as to where the holy water came from.
The monk staying next to Chao Khun Nor couldn’t stand it anymore as more and more people flocked to the temple and decided to clarify to the villagers once and for all that Chao Khun Nor had never given any holy water to anyone. However, there was one man who came to beg for it but was declined. He also witnessed the same man taking the water from Chao Khun Nor’s feet washing basin but at that time, he did not know what the man was doing.
When the origins of the “holy water” was established, all the villages rushed to take water from the basin. Some waited around for it to be filled up and immediately emptied the basin. This made it a very hectic job for the person responsible for topping up the basin as he had to do it numerous times a day. Finally, the basin was placed in Chao Khun Nor’s room to stop all trouble.
MIRACLE AT THE AMULETS BLESSING CEREMONIES
There were reports of strange incidents happening when Chao Khun Nor made incantations. On the fateful day of Saturday, 25th April BE2513, a photographer was assigned to take photographs of him consecrating a batch of amulets and was busy snapping pictures of the long and elaborate process until it was finished. After the photographs were developed, there was something strange and remarkable about a picture in which Chao Khun Nor was sprinkling holy water on the amulets. The wooden brush that was used to sprinkle holy water emitted white light from its tip. There were many people who were present at the ceremony but the light was not seen by anyone there. It only showed up on the picture. Everyone was amazed as they could not find any logical explanation for this. However, everyone agreed that it could not have been caused by the actual physical sprinkling of holy water itself.
There was another strange incident on Saturday, 5th December BE 2513. There was a big ceremony at Wat Thepsirin and many people came to witness the event. Chao Khun Nor announced that it was going to be the last time he was going to make incantations for the blessing of amulets. In a photograph, the flames from the candles which were lined up directly in front of the principle Buddha statue were “swaying” as if there was a strong wind blowing. However, all the windows and doors were shut during that time and there was no wind at all. The flames should have been completely still. Everyone who was at the ceremony were astonished when the picture was shown. This particular picture was taken when Chao Khun Nor was making incantations in front of the principal Buddha image in a temple and Chao Khun Udomsarasophon was blessing the amulets with holy water.
Based on the pictorial evidence taken during the ceremony, there was widespread belief that the strange incidents were the result that Chao Khun Nor was already an arhat.

Kumanthong
Kuman Thong is an effigy, or statue which is revered in Thailand by animists. They are believed to bring luck and fortune to the owner, if properly revered. Kuman, or Kumara (Pali) means “young boy” (female kumari); thong means golden. Kuman thong is not a Buddhist practice, but necromancy. Genuine Kuman Thong, which was revered and created in ancient times according to traditional method by Adept practitioners of Saiyasart, was made by surgically removing the unborn fetus from the womb of its Mother. The body of the child would then be taken to a cemetery for the conduction of the ceremony to invoke a Kuman Thong. The body is roasted until dry whilst the Mage chants incantations of magical kata. In the case of making a female spirit child, the effigy is not called Kuman Tong, rather “Hong Pray”.
Some Kuman effigies will be soaked in Nam Man Prai, which has extract of a dead child or a person who died in violent circumstances or an unnatural death. This is much less common now, because this practice is now illegal if using fat from human babies for the consecrating oil. There are however still some authentically made amulets appearing. Some years ago a famous monk was thrown out of the Buddhist sangha for roasting a baby. He was convicted, but later continued to make magic as a layperson after his release. The practice of creating Necromantic effigies of a Kuman Tong comes from age old tradition in Thailand. Thai folk have made Bucha to Animistic spirits and ghosts since time immemorial. The original Kuman Tong came from children who died whilst still in their mother’s womb. The Magic makers would take these stillborn babies and adopt them as their children.
From what information has been gathered from ancient Thai manuscripts about how to make a Kuman Tong, it appears that the correct method is to remove the dead baby surgically from the mother’s womb, and take it to undergo the proper ceremonial ritual; The baby must be roasted until dry. This must be completed before dawn, and should be performed in a cemetery. Once the rite is completed, the dry-roasted Kuman should be painted with Ya Lak (a kind of lacquer used to cover amulets and Takrut with gold leaf, and covered in gold leaf. This is the real reason why this effigy received the name of “Kuman Thong” (which means “Golden Baby Boy”).
Origins: In Thailand, the Kuman Thong is also spoken of in the legend of Khun Chang Khun Phaen, where the character Khun Phaen made one by removing the stillborn baby from the stomach of his wife.

FASTING BUDDHA
After reaching enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Buddha meditated and fasted for forty-nine days. Luang Phu Toh of Wat Pradu Chimphli
Luang Phu Toh of Wat Pradu Chimphli, or official name of Chao Khun Prarachsangwara Bhimonda, was a local of Bangkontee district, Samutsongkram province.He was born on March 27 B.E.2430 to the family of Mr.Loy and Mrs.Tub Ruttanakon, who had another child named Mr.Chuey, the younger brother of Luang Phu Toh.
By the time he was 13, both parents had passed away, and Luang Phor Kaew, a relative, moved him away to stay at Wat Pradu Chimphli, where he was educated by Luang Phu Suek, the then abbot of the temple. At the age 17, he was ordained as a novice, but unfortunately a day after, Luang Phu Suek passed away.
As a result Mr.Klai and Mrs.Pun, Luang Phu Suek’s relatives, decided they would do all they could to support Luang Phu Toh until he was 20, at which time he was ordained as a monk by Luang Phu Saeng (Phra Kru Sammana Tamsamahtahn) of Wat Paknam, at 3.30 PM., on July 16, B.E.2540. Also present as a preceptor was Phra Kru TammawiRat (Chei) Wat GumPaeng. At the time he was renamed as “Intasuwanno”. after Luang Phu Suek, by the son of Mr Klai, Luang Phu Kum the Abbot of Wat Praduchimplee
Luang Phu Toh was a dedicated and merciful monk, highly respected by the locals, but he wanted to learn more about Lord Buddha’s Dharma and magic sciences. Because of his desire and quest for knowledge he actually moved away to Wat Bhoti in Bangkok. It was not long however that the locals pleaded for his return. When Luang Phu Toh had reached the age of 26, Luang Phu Kum resigned from his position at the temple, and Luang Phu Toh succeeded him. In fact he remained Abbot until his death at the age of 68 on March 5, B.E.2524. Luang Phor Toh himself was succeeded by Luang Phu Virojana-kittikun, who remains the current Abbot at the age of 94
Luang Phu Toh was so interested in magic sciences that even before he was ordained as a monk he was learning from Luang Phor Phromma who was then the Abbot of Wat Pradu Chimphli. After Luang Phu Phromma had passed away, Luang Phu Toh studied under many senior monks such as Luang Phor Roong of Wat Takrabue, Samutsakorn province, Luang Phu Nium of Wat Noi, Supanburi province, Luang Phor Pum Wat Bangklo, Bangkok. Moreover, Luang Por Pan of Wat Bangnomko, Ayudhaya province, had introduced Luang Phu Toh to Luang Phor Nong, from whom he learned a lot of magic sciences, so much so that Luang Phu Toh regarded him as his principal.
When Luang Phu Toh began to join the Buddhist ceremonies he also attempted to seek further knowledge. A close follower of Luang Phu Toh revealed that every time he was invited to a ceremony he would touch the sacred thread, and incredibly would know the strength of the magic power, if the power was strong he would enquire as to who created the sacred thread in order to learn further. Luang Phor Toh was involved in many mass chanting ceremonies such as Phra Somdej Luang Phor Pae Roon Rahk chanting at Wat Suthat in BE 2494, 25 Puttawat chanting in BE 2500, Phra Luang Phor Thuad chanting at Wat Prasat in BE 2506, Phra Somdej 09 chanting at Wat Bankhunprom in BE2509, Phra Somdej Roy Pee chanting at Wat Rakang in BE 2515. Even as Abbot of the temple, Luang Phu Toh would spend much time traveling to seek the knowledge that he desired. Beside the lay people, the 9th or the present King of Thailand and the royal family respected Luang Phu Toh very much. One can see from many photographs of the royal family taken with Luang Phu Toh.
In BE2463, Luang Phu Toh chanted the first batch of amulets made of Neua Phong. The most popular Pim from this batch is the Pra Somdej Ka Toh , which is very rare and expensive now. Since that time, Luang Phu Toh continued to chant many batches of amulets of many types, such as Phra Pidta, Somdej, Roop Meuan and Rians etc. All Luang Phu Toh’s amulets are very well-proven to be able to protect people from accidents and hardship.

And the ritual of spirit possession is performed, a monk who roll the putty into cylinders or slender sticks his body will be controlled by holy spirits, ghosts of departed master or guru monk or devas.
THE SECOND PROCESS (Kiang Pong Lop Pong / drawing formulas of holy cabalistic writings, and then erase them).
After the sticks of powder are dried, then process of making Pong Viset Ha Pragaan begins. The monk will draw formulas of holy cabalistic writings on a chalkboard made of a sheet of mudstone.
