Listen. Not everyone ships Franletta. Many people do see them as just platonic and, that's what canon was intending, so it's all good!

But I hope we can agree, no matter if we ship them or see them as platonic, Violetta is one of, if maybe not the most important person in Francesca's life.

She is the reason Francesca got to stay in Argentina. She is the reason Francesca could continue with the life she had built up there.

Francesca's biggest trait is her loyalty to her friends. She holds all of her friends very dearly and I am not saying there's any imbalance between her different relationships - she's just as close to Camila and Maxi as she is to Violetta. However, Violetta may have played the most important role for her arc.

I think we can agree her boyfriends are not the most important people in her life. Are they important to her? Yes. But who has been there for her during her ups and downs in her relationships? Her friends. And who has always been someone she's been thinking about while she dates her boyfriends? Violetta.

Tomas. She always considered Violetta's feelings for him. Several times, she put her own feelings down to let Violetta pursue him, even gave her her blessing (and Violetta did the same for her, causing them to eventually realize their friendship is stronger than some boy)

Diego. She had a hard time enjoying their relationship at times because she thought so much more about what Violetta would think, what Violetta would say. Violetta didn't even know (nor did she care who her friend dated), but Francesca overanalysed the whole situation because she cared too much about Violetta's opinions.

Now, Marco is a bit of an exception to this rule, and Violetta more or less wasn't involved - in there, she was only another friend supporting and listening to Fran's rambles on the side. The only times she was involved, it was to help them get back together or something, and then she wasn't alone, there were others involved too. Though, that being said, season 2 as you know is what we called the "Franletta season" cause !! their moments in S2 is everything.

Anyway, no matter if you don't see them as any more than friends or if you ship them, I hope you can agree that, for Francesca, Violetta may be the most important person in her life.

I remember people saying Violetta was "overdramatic" for being upset about losing her mothers diary and like.

You've never been grieving. It's not something that just "goes over" after a while.

Plus, Violetta has essentially not been allowed to grieve because she hasn't even gotten to talk about her mother until she was 17. Finding this diary is literally the closest thing to her mother that she has left. OF COURSE she'd be so upset she can't get out of bed. She might've been able to get up and go to school, but even then, it would be hard to her to concentrate at all.

Anyway, this was actually the line that caused me to write "The Romance of Madrid", the prequel to "Surprises and Disguises". But even if those fics are franletta related, in canon this shows just how tired Violetta is. She has never been this low.
