- him and tweak are very good friends but tweak scares him sometimes and he wont even lie to you about that

- Ranger Marsh knows she's lesbian and will often attempt to relate by just,, "hey that girls pretty, you could date that one" which almost always turns into tweak going into a laughing fit

- they read manga and NO I won't elaborate, its nestled right in on his book shelf besides they're lengthy medical books.

- the noises they make when they bandage are neccesary for focus, no one knows why, it's like a stim for them

- hangs out with kwazii a lot and enjoys his stories, actually very convienent considering they're almost always around when kwazii is injured, which happens frequently

- surprisingly unaffected by gore! It will make him shiver a bit if it's really bad but due to being a medic he can remain pretty unaffected by it

- asian-hispanic, which sounds like a generational trauma nightmare but they're actually doing quite well

- horrible anxiety but actually pretty okay with social anxiety, mostly afraid of getting hurt not talking to people, can actually be very social in the right groups

- she/they, bisexual, has a horrible problem with anorexia

- has a bunch of mystery books in a box under her bed that branch out from a bunch from one author to a bunch of random ones

- keeps one of those diaries with a lock on it and is the only person on planet earth who can keep track of the keys for it

- a bit of a clean freak around her bedroom, sprays surfaces every few days and cleans up often

- Tweak has experience with EDs and will often help her through rough spots

- They dress pretty femine but will sometimes wear sweatpants and a T-shirt with no makeup instead

- pretty close friends with shellington, has listened to so many of his marine biology infodumps that they might as well have a marine biology degree.

Kwazii 🐱-

- transgender he/him, MLM

- has horrendous ADHD and can still drive a gup better than shellington

- pirate special interest, he has been a pirate but it's also his interest

- spyglass comfort item, won't leave his room without it on him but still insists it's not a comfort item

- takes the Gup B on rides every few days if it hasn't been used, he doesn't want it to get rusty supposedly

- a menace to tweaks work schedule along with shellington

- plays with yarn, he's like half cat what did you expect

- has a bunch of kids pirate storybooks hidden in his treasure chest

- I don't know if everyone has this, but his treasure chest doubles as a "hope" chest, it's mementos and old memorable things to keep you going, had it since he was a kid and hid a broken glass in it once to not get in trouble, regretted it as an adult.

- said he was tough enough for testosterone shots but had to switch to gel after a month

-tail is permanently bent at the end due to how much it gets messed with

Inkling 🦑 -

- uses a wheelchair while on land or inside but not in the water

- has many degrees, was a professor at a school for awhile

- also has a marine biology special interest but masks it a lot more than shellington

- collected most the books in the library himself, even wrote a few, has some of shellingtons old journals stored in there

- spends most his days living his life as a peaceful old man but will beat the crap out of anyone on sight

- had a chaos streak in high school

- knits and crochets VERY efficiently, made matching sweaters for the vegimals and shellington. Shellington cried.

- basically the vegimals grandpa figure, he reads them stories when shellingtons out

Shellington 🦦 -

- I love him, uses all pronouns besides she but I'll be referring to him as he for convienence

- MLM but uses the achillean flag specifically

- can't drive because he's gay /hj

- has crashed the Gups so often that they have a "days since shellington has crashed a gup" board, his record is 32

- very heavy marine biology special interest, he doesn't masks it and everyone on the octopod listens to him as intently as they can

- infodumps so fast he runs out of breath and foams at the mouth a bit, (I also do this, the spit is not nice)

- will hurt you if you touch the vegimals in a negative way

- vegimals pretty much consider him their birth father! first person they saw out of the egg, quite literally consider him their dad

- he's very good at gardening due to being said father, I mean seriously he can make a mean garden

- has a bunch of science equipment, does leave it laying around the octopod sometimes

- just,, weird tastes, hot sauce on kelp cakes, he has also got fed caramel covered broccoli as a joke and liked it.

- doesn't actually hate touch that much but instinctively flinches away from you when you reach out for him

- likes to test and push his own limits, he has purposely kept himself awake for two weeks for an experiment, he's, a bit odd

- has a diary hidden away in his journal stash

- has a lot of journals! they document a Lot of things

- has a journal on the behavior of people on the gup, he has never shown anyone, he thinks it would be creepy if people knew he watched anyone that close

Waiting to hit the stage. Was a bit nervous tonight without Jesse - I sang some of the old GUP songs: All My Life, Never Love Again and My Yesterday and everyone was super receptive. Plus I got two awesome guys to improv for me some backup in the form of a bassist and drummer. I met a lot of local music lovers and was even invited up on stage to help sing an impromptu version of Wicked Game and Lovers in a Dangerous Time. Overall a fabulous night.

holly is the only child to leandro and susanna addams ( the addams family 👀 ) . she was born with not just a silver spoon but the silver spoon . the addams are a prominent american family , that are regarded as one of the leading industrialist during the gilded age . in short her families been billionaire rich for a long time and are known as one of the families to bring wealth to the city of chicago . she was incredibly spoiled growin gup as you would assume but by the grace of her parents teachings she was anything but a brat . she had being filthy rich and being an only child working against her and she still managed to be the most giving and down to earth child . from a young age holly would give her toys to other kids during play dates & ask her parents if she could donate the things she didn’t use anymore to the less fortunate . 

although her father had a busying career as he took over the family company just a year before holly was born , but in spite of that he always made time for his family . luckily her mother had stepped away from her career soon after meeting holly’s father , so she was able to be a stay at home mom and be there for every important moment of holly’s life . by the way , susanna was straight of of a real housewives show only just an overall better person ? they had dinner together as a family every night , threw parties at the house for every big moment in holly’s life . everything from birthdays , graduations , academic honors , to becoming captain of the cheerleading team and everything in between warranted a celebration in the eyes of susanna and leandro . 

she grew up extremely sheltered , mostly because her parents wanted to keep their little girl well their little girl . they didn’t want the world to taint her . she went to church every sunday and even wednesday nights , if she wanted to have a sleepover it was always at the addams household , and her parents met the parent/s of every kid she befriended growing up . 

despite their attempts her parents couldn’t shield her from one thing . getting her heart broken and at sixteen she experience her first bout of heart break . the boy she’d falling head over heels for just stopped talking to her one day , with no rhythm or reason he moved on to another girl with a blink of an eye . she couldn’t understand why ( pst ? it was because she slept with him and that was all he wanted to begin with ) someone could be so cruel an play with someones heart like that . it was her first experience of how the world could really work and in all honesty , holly couldn’t handle it . she got her hands on her parents bar room in the house and would literally drink every night before bed so she could sleep . 

this soon turned into her going to parties , promising her parents "i just want to hang out with my friend , i wont touch any alcohol” and her promise was always kept , she didn’t touch alcohol at these parties instead she smoke weed and on the chance one of her friends had it on them she’d do a line . 

this double life , if you would , didn’t lead to any real issues , at least not while she was in highschool . she still graduated top of her class  and even got accepted into her dream school university of southern california .  it wasn’t until she was a semester deep in usc that she realized she was losing control over her life . maybe it was a mix of her derailing mental state , being separated from her parents , and the los angeles social make up . whatever it was holly wasn’t too far gone to see she needed help . 

instead of going back to school the following semester holly checked herself into rehab . her parents freaked out , unaware their daughter had touched a substance a day in her life . it was a long process and took alot of owning up for her own wrong doings but after a couple months she checked out of rehab and flew out to her parents .

she had decided upon leaving rehab that her best bet directly after getting out would be to surround herself with people who loved her . during her short stint in california her parents had made the temporary move to new york city so that her mom could focus on the salon in the city , so holly transferred to new york university to continue her studies and be around her parents .

she lives under their roof , despite being more than self efficient thanks to her multiple branches of income including her trust fund but she figures there is only so much more time before they leave to go back to chicago that the more time she spends with them the better off she’ll be when they leave the city . speaking of , she doesn’t know her parents will be leaving the city in the next few months . on a positive note they plan on paying the rent in the apartment they live in for her until she finds somewhere she likes better .   

today , holly is a sober ( she smokes weed here and there but it’s not a addictive so it fine 🙄 ) and happy . although due to how sensitive the girl is anything could make her snap , she’s incredibly fragile guys . like capable of having a mental break at any moment but like we ignore it because if we bring it up it’ll happen . wooo . 

not so fun fact ? when she has an off day she’ll literally sit in her room holding either a bottle she had hidden in her walk in closet or stares at the coke she keeps in her jewelry box . she hasn’t used any of it but she tells herself its there as a reminder when really it’s a crutch for if she ever needs it again , she has easy access .

secret time ? she pushed her ex boyfriend of a balcony while she was drunk . this happened before she went to rehab ... perhaps you could say it was what prompted her to realized her crazy ass needed to go to rehab . ummm , it’s not acceptable and she knows this but one thing we all need to know about holly is that holly + substances + being upset = toxic shit that is always the equation and there is never another answer to it .

Silvia De Giorgi's digital and analog approach to light and shadow captures a world beyond an invisible boundary- a place between reality and conceptualized landscapes in a time of self-isolation.

The award-winning photographer has made headlines in almost every significant art and photography publication. She has recently been recognized as one of Artpil's 30 Under 30 Women Photographers, a recipient of GUP Magazines Emerging Talent Award and Gilchrist Fisher Award. Now, I'd like to bring attention to this distinguished artist's most recent work in a collection titled: "Places of Passage(isolation diary).

"Places of Passage (isolation diary)" is no exception to the artists' ability to transcend the medium of photography to a place of philosophical and existential heightened awareness.

In a statement, she openly describes the series:

"'Places of Passage' examines opposed subjects such as stillness and movement, the inside and outside, and the domestic space as opposed to the wild and open environment. It is a poetic reflection on solitude, the rhythms of nature, and the passage of time."

The series conception began in the Spring of 2020 while self-isolating between Norway, Sweden, and Italy. In March of that year, the world was faced with the most challenging crisis since World War II. A viral pandemic swept across Italy like wildfire as it became the first of many countries to surpass China's death toll, and the "new normal" was a reality.

A Darwinian moment of resurgence would ask the artist to adapt to the darkness and find the light in quiet solitude. The aftermath of her poetic introspection would result in a collection of natural surroundings in an ever-changing entity.

The thematic structure of sequences in her series is powerful and moving. They convey emotional intelligence without words. Ocean scenes dance on the backs of wild animals and play a role in her connection to the environment-mythic creatures from an imaginary place, living unsuspectingly in constant motion.

Waves play a central role as well, building on shorelines with a view from a place of social solitude. Passageways and windows open to shorelines in a hopeful interpretation of escapism. Her story is always best served in black and white, cutting through the distraction of color and finding the core of her poem- a visual isolation diary.

The conception of these multifaceted images began where it ends, in the Italian Alps, she calls home. She references these aspects in symbolic gestures: geological textures, the almost imaginary formations, the pure white of snow, bodies of water in motion.

There's a history she has built-in an archive of memory. These complimentary moments of solidarity seep into the viewer's subconsciousness, a place where the images live and swell in a world she's continuously constructing. A world we find comfort in, knowing that we're not alone.

Survive/Thrive- Notes

Learning from the previous project, i found it hard to keep track of all my posts and where they were, i have decided to make a labelling system to help find them. This way if i type in one of the keys in the Ctrl+F menu, i will be able to find all of the related posts. The Pro’s to this are that anyone can use my blog as long as they know the keys, therefore the layout and post order do not have to make complete sense. On the other hand i will still try to keep posts in a relatively clean order just to improve user experience more.
