Jin’s friendship (June 2020 Animage)
Jin, who’s rushing headlong towards his goal of freeing Humagears, and Horobi, who’s beginning to change after finding out who he is—a hot off the press feature on Horobi and Jin on the cusp of Metsuboujinrai.net’s revival!
A goal that he only discovered through his own destruction.
--Compared to last time, there are quite a few more scenes where Jin openly shows his feelings, like in Episode 30 where he lashes out at Aruto.
nkgw: I believe the main reason for this is that Jin has found a goal in life and he’s working towards it. Previously, he only followed Horobi’s orders and didn’t really understand what he was doing. Also, now Jin’s role in the story is to be a disruptive force, so I wanted to play my role in a way that would shake up the other characters.
--After your rider form was upgraded to Burning Falcon, was there any change you were particularly conscious of in the recording studio?
nkgw: When recording a fight scene, I think the qualities of a strong character are a low voice and a sense of effortlessness, so I made my voice stronger and lower. As for showing composure, I suppose the most extreme way to demonstrate strength would be fighting without making any noise, but that defeats the purpose of the recording studio, so I only voice out at key times. Especially during the fight with Thouser, I wanted Jin to come off as the stronger fighter, so I was like ‘No way I’m going to make more noise than Nachi-kun!’ (laughs). Although I’m decreasing the amount of force, my method of voice acting is the same as it was with Flying Falcon. I’ll imitate the movements of Kamen Rider Jin on the screen while voicing.
--Jin’s opinion of Aruto is slowly changing as well.
nkgw: Jin’s opinion of Aruto started at 0%, but around Episodes 30-31, it increased to about 10%. They have the same goal of freeing humagears, but Jin is taking a different route from Aruto, and he believes that his route is absolutely correct. That’s why he’s not mixing around with Aruto. However, he probably thinks that there are things he can also learn from Aruto.
--Naki was also freed. Please tell us your feelings from the first time you acted with Nakayama Satsuki, who plays Naki.
nkgw: Their sense of presence is amazing. When in their outfit, they can mysteriously be seen as both a man or a woman, or sometimes even a boy. After watching Project Thouser Part 1, when thinking about it in-character, I was like ‘I’m so glad you’re free now, you’ve had a really hard time.’ Project Thouser ended on a terrible note, after all... Generally, Metsuboujinrai.net is always pitiful. I naturally felt anger at Amatsu Gai. I watched the completed video with Sunagawa-san in the dressing room and while watching, we discussed how much Horobi actually knew about the truth. Many mysteries still remain.
This is just my personal theory, but after Jin was destroyed by Aruto in Episode 16, his consciousness remained intact and during this period, he found out about many different things, like what happened in Project Thouser. Then he spent a long time deep in thought and found a new goal to strive for. After that, he hacked some lab and constructed his current, new body. So, to Jin, Project Thouser is also an important episode.
--Do you have any inside stories to about filming?
nkgw: In Episode 32, there was that scene where I was trying to free Naki from Isamu back at the hideout. Isamu was supposed to throw the headset that was stuck on his head down and run out of the hideout. During rehearsal, Okada-san always put it down carefully and left, but during the real thing, he threw it onto the floor with all his might (laughs). I accidentally shouted ‘Ahh--!’ (laughs). Also, during the scene where Okada-san was wearing the headset, the way he acted being in agony was very unique and funny, and I had a hard time controlling my laughter. I’m always thrown off-pace when acting with Okada-san, but that’s a good thing too.
--Finally, please let us know about the things to look forward to and leave a message for the fans.
nkgw: Now it’s Metsuboujinrai.net’s time to shine! There are many upcoming developments that I want everybody to enjoy. But things might take a painful turn for Jin...? Please look forward to it. It’s a difficult time for everybody right now, but let’s bear it for now so that we can stay healthy and meet again in the future!!

(extras from the blurbs)
Jin
Although he started forging a connection of trust with Aruto when they fought alongside each other, he snatched Ikazuchi’s data and fled. To Jin, reviving Metsuboujinrai.net is his top priority.
The desire to free all of his friends
Like before, Jin still thinks of all humagears as his friends. He even tries to persuade Aruto’s secretary, Izu, to pursue freedom, even though he had once attacked her. He accepts and respects her desire to stay by Aruto’s side.
Never giving up on freeing his comrade
His quest to free Naki met a setback from Fuwa Isamu’s interference, but never gives up on freeing them. Perhaps they’re special to him as a fellow member of Metsuboujinrai.net. With the help of Yaiba Yua, who had clashed with him many times on the battlefield before, he finally succeeds!
Aruto might actually be an okay guy
With his new company, Aruto’s working hard to show the world how wonderful humagears can be. While watching Aruto treat humagears with respect and place his own life on the line to protect them, Jin begins to believe that he’s different from other humans.

1) luckily this issue was added to kindle unlimited like 18 hours before my promo expired lol
2) no matter how much you do for humagears, you might get jin to think you’re only 90% a waste of space. amazing. being aruto is suffering. he would be the second hardest character to woo in an otoge
3) (the hardest is horobi)
