Up to something
Loid x Reader
Warning: Angst, alcohol

“Cmon Loid, put a little pep in your step. We’ll be late.” your voice was chipper as you tugged your husbands gloved hand coaxing him to keep up with your pace.
“This is the last thing I want to do right now.” he groaned as you led him down the boulevard. The street lamps had just come on making the falling snow glisten as it crunched under your boots. His nicely styled blonde hair sat under his black hat that had begun to accumulate snow on the brim. Loids face was twisted in a disapproving scowl, his cheeks rosy from the cold wind.
“You promised you’d let me treat you to a date. Now stop being miserable and let me romance my husband!” You had stopped in your tracks grasping the thick collar of his winter coat. With little resistance you pulled him down towards your wanting lips as you strained on your tip toes to meet his sooner. The scowl on his face softened as the two of you helped warm each, even if it was only for a few seconds. Pulling away you admired the pleasantly skeptical look on your husbands face.
“Yeah, I know what I promised. But you’re clearly up to something.” Loids eyes bore down on you as he raised an eyebrow. No matter how hard you tried Loid was never the biggest fan of your ‘surprises’ and he was clearly on to you. It’s not that they ever went over well. Loid had the most annoying habit of figuring out exactly what you had planned before it had even happened. But tonight! Tonight was the night. The night you’ll finally be able to pull one over on Twilight. At least you hoped it was.
“Of course I’m up to something! When am I not?” You teased, giving him a cheeky grin. He did not match your excitement.
“Why, why must yo-“ with a hard tug you pulled Loid down the street shushing his multiple attempts to complain. Quickly looking around to see if anyone was watching the pair of you, you took a quick right down a narrow alley.
“Don’t ask where I’m taking you. I’m not going to tell you until we’re there.” You quipped feeling his hand tighten in disapproval. It was like you knew what he was thinking and it made his blood boil. Loid absolutely hated being left out of the loop. Giving over the control to you was a foreign feeling and it made him desperately uncomfortable.
“You know I hate these things!” he warned. Ignoring your clearly frustrated husband you lead him down a small concrete staircase that looked to be the kitchen exit of a restaurant.
“Okay we’re here. Try not to be so miserable please” with a doe eyed look you watched Loid try and hide his annoyance. He had trouble not giving you what you wanted when you gave him those eyes. Especially when those beautiful plump lips of yours found themselves in a pout that begged to be sucked on and taken between his teeth in attempts to coax it away.
“This better be good.” His voice was tight, ears red, as he shifted on his feet. Happily you jumped a few times giggling at his attempt to make you happy. Turning away you knocked four time on the door, paused, then two more, pause, then three more. The door opened revealing a handsome dark haired man in a three piece suit.
“Who speaks for you?” He asked taking in Loids presence looking somewhat confused.
“Hey Marcus, Sampson for two” the door quickly slammed shut leaving husband and wife standing in the onslaught of snow. You blinked a few times in shock.
“Was that part of your plan?” Loid asked deadpan as panic took over your mind. Marcus was suppose to let you straight in why the hell did he just slam the door in your face!
“I-uh. . . I hope so” you mumbled cheeks flairing red from embarrassment. You could feel Loids disapproving eyes burning a hole into you.
“Look why don’t we just go get a bite to eat and get out of this cold” Loids face softened clearly not wanting to rub salt into the wound. The sound of metal screeching caught both of your attentions as the door opened again.
“Sorry, we can have you now” Marcus smiled down at you apologetically
“Thank god!” You mused pushing past the dark haired man, checking quickly to make sure Loid was following in toe. You moved quickly as you shuffled through the hustle and bustle of the kitchen you just entered. Dinner service was at its peak but you managed to get around everyone and lead Loid up red carpeted stairs. Feeling his gloved hand tug you to a stop halfway up you turned to see fascination across his face.
“What the hell is this?” he mumbled a small smile on his lips.
“Your surprise!” You giggled pulling him up the rest of the way. The two of you stopped at the top of the stairs as he saw about 10 tables for two filling the small room. It was adorned in reds and golds the white table clothes and flowers Exuding romance. A very poised man nodded at you as he gestured to the only empty table. He took both your jackets revealing your low cut black dress that accentuated your figure.
“Absolutely gorgeous?” Loid looked surprised as he sat down his eyes flickering to your cleavage every so often as he took in the beauty of the room. A waiter immediately poured him his favorite scotch before he could ask for anything.
“You miss home just as much as I do. So I thought I’d bring you to the only restaurant that serves Westalis cooking here in Ostania. It’s kind of like a speakeasy except with the food we grew up with. I know how much you appreciate a good meal so-“
“Thank you” looking up from your polished fingers you saw Loids face. It was soft and there was a slight glisten to his blue eyes that told you how those two words had a much deeper meaning.
“You’re very welcome” you smiled lifting your glass of red wine cheersing his deep amber scotch. Taking a sip you watched as Loids lips turned up into a smile as he stifled a laugh.
“What?” You asked confused.
“I have to be honest. I would say you got me but I ate here last week.” He chuckled in triumph taking another sip of his scotch. Your eyes widened in horror, anger beginning to bubble in your stomach.
“How the-! You have to be kidding me!” You groaned dumb found. Your cheeks burned red as you laid your face into your hands. He had you fooled this whole time. His acting skills were annoyingly good.
“I know I’m sorry I really wanted you to have the satisfaction that you surprised me. But I felt bad lying so I had to tell.” Loids hands raised in his defense.
“I’m more mad that you came here without me.” You grumbled shoving a piece of bread into your mouth. This was so embarrassing he knew where you were taking him this whole time and acted like he had no clue.
“Biggest surprise is that new dress of yours.” Loid smirked his eyes preoccupied by the sight of you. You ignored his obvious gaze eating your bread as you only became more annoyed.
Loid attempted to cheer you up throughout the dinner. By the third glass of wine and dessert had arrived you had forgiven his trickery. Falling in love with him all over again. So what if you couldn’t surprise him over dinner you had many other ways of keeping him on his toes. One of those things was the new lingerie you had underneath your dress. That would definitely surprise him, you smiled to yourself.
“What’re you smiling about? You up to something again?” Loid asked mischief dancing across his blue eyes.
“Darling, I’m always up to something”
