#my art#doodles#place spirits#the rook#< guy whos design got heavy insp from my black mask design but he is not like akechi very much#hes like some silly little freak he lives joyously#LORE:#his actual title is The Justice but he uses a fake one when hes not doing his job#hes accomplices with The Cycle (spirit of life and death). the cycle greets every new life and takes every newly departed soul away#the justice's job is to seek retribution for the wronged and punish evildoers (read: torture) before they die. he takes Great Joy in this#hes dragon themed. much more humanoid than any other spirit though and thats on purpose#the whole thing with the masks is to not frighten humans with their true faces#but the justice appears so close to human specifically to further frighten those who have committed great wrongs#because once you die spirits feel no need to hide their faces from you . its thought that the soul can comprehend but the physical body cant
