YOUNG!RUKI EVENT: CLOSING
“Today has been, by far, the most outrageous occurrence I’ve ever experienced! So many people, most of which I’m unsure of their social status, possessed something called a… ‘smartphone?’ Goodness gracious, it’s as if the masses allow such a tiny black box to control their every move, which I find quite laughable. I could never allow an inanimate thing to determine how I should live my life and carry myself! Ah, yes, and let’s not forget the copious amount of ice cream I consumed earlier. It absolutely chilled my brain to the point of a headache, but it tasted delectable nonetheless. Though I must say, my stomach is beginning to ail me… Ugh, I’m flagging! I must return home right this very moment!! Mother… Father…”
As young Ruki recalled the eventful day that just transpired, he traipsed along a winding road, away from the busy city and closer to the woods and forests surrounding the urban area.
“…For a town center, Kaminashi City… Oh dear, I cannot seem to pronounce that name quite correctly… Honestly, it seemed rather unimpressive compared to what I’m accustomed to. Another ludicrous discovery I encountered was that sorcery is, in fact, real. Oh, and some people attend school at nighttime! Isn’t that just preposterous?! In the end, no one could guide me back home, but rather I learned of numerous interesting phenomena in such a short amount of time. Surely that must count for something. Father says knowledge is power, after all. As fascinating, albeit frightening, as it was, I do pray I find my way back home with haste… Hm? What’s that?”
A glowing silhouette containing the very image of his home immediately caught his gaze and halted the child in his steps. Hesitant and somewhat suspicious of the magical portal, Ruki carefully approached it, extending a single finger in disbelief.
“No way…! It’s… It’s really my home. At long last, I’ve finally found it…!! Mother, Father, I’ll be there soon, just you wait!”
Before stepping foot in the strange opening, the child turned around to bid Kaminashi, as well as all the curious acquaintances he met along the way even if they were no longer present, farewell.
“Goodbye, Kaminashi. I’ll be sure to document each and every unforgettable incident that happened. My, this is groundbreaking indeed… but first things first, I must see my parents at once!”
“It is impossible for the sinful sons of man to grasp the truth with their own hands, alone and without the bonds that unite them in solidarity. Soon, Ruki, you will understand… May your brothers and those with whom you established close relationships shed light upon the myriad of wonders in this world. Consider this journey a fruitful and insightful one, worthy of marking a turning point in your destiny. One day you shall fulfill my request and bear witness to the origin of not only a new race, but also realm in which both the kindness of humanity and the acridity of demonkind combine to restore harmony and balance. Until then…”
(( Okay, sorry for that cringe Karl moment, I thought it would be fun to chalk up the reason for baby Ruki stumbling into the future because of none other than Karl himself. This event has been a lot of fun and I will be finishing the ~8 or so rp replies I have left and then resume business as usual with regular Ruki. Not to worry, though. Young!Ruki will return to this blog another day in the future (no pun intended) for those who might’ve missed out. ^^ I hope all of you enjoyed interacting with him even if I was slow with replies, ahaha. Here’s to more fun and quirky events in the future! ))
