So assuming the previous HC's, y'all grew up together. Don't worry, teen!Stannis is JUST as awkward and unsure of his feelings as an adult! It's just even more pronounced! Great. Sometimes he has a hard time making eye contact or standing too close to you, especially if you're the type to dress up and look after your appearance. He never had difficulties before, why is it so awkward now?

If you're awkward and/or shy too, well ... you both might spend a whole hour just fidgeting and trying to talk about something but usually failing. But not all days are like that! It's much easier if you're outgoing.

Since Robert is at the Eyrie and his parents are gone, Stannis is the lord of Storm's End. That means there's really no older parental figures telling you both it's inappropriate to be unmarried and hanging out at this age - it is, and Maester Cressen tries to say so. Stannis is torn between worrying over your reputation vs wanting everyone to screw off and leave you two be. This is back when he still thinks his feelings are platonic 🤦🏽‍♀️

Here's this poor boy's thought process: Really respects and appreciates you platonically -> Can't stand to see you around other lordlings and their attempts at courting -> Your House is closely allied with the Baratheons since forever -> He'll need to marry eventually bc duty -> Therefore, you both should get married. For purely practical reasons. Yes.

He's convinced this is a very good plan but the idea of explaining it to you gives him a stomachache.

It's not all confusing feelings and angsting though, just sometimes. Most days you both like to visit. You're still the person Stannis talks to the most. You know how in the books, he'll just go off on annoyed rants to Davos? Yeah, he does that to you, too. It's very cute when he gets riled up about something. He can complain about the suitors that harass you for hours.

There's probably an unspoken understanding amongst lordlings your age that courting you is a small obstacle course... Forget about having a fling or flirting. You may think those Baratheon blue eyes are pretty, but they're terrifyingly cold when directed at someone Stannis dislikes.

Though he's very protective, it's not like it's always been out of jealousy. It's a genuine desire for you and your virtue to be safe. I think growing up with a lady friend would make Stannis more open and understanding to a lot of shit women deal with.

It's usually you visiting Storm's End. You have a dedicated room with several clothes and necessities. Again, technically this isn't appropriate but your parents are not going to say no to this potential match. Also they know he's nothing like his older brother and are very confident he'll look after you and be gentlemanly.

He hates attending tourneys and galas, the former he never even bothered training in. He only goes because you want to. There's been a few times when Robert has been in the lists, and he makes a big show of winking at you and giving you flowers just to make Stannis grind his teeth.

Though unbeknownst to the both of you, at the Eyrie Robert talks like you and Stannis are already engaged or something. It leads to a lot of confusion if you ever come across Eyrie nobles during parties....

Related to that, you've been a part of Storm's End for so many years, the servants are familiar with you and often gossip about when you and Stannis will be married. There's been a few slip-ups of "Lady Bara- I-I mean Lady Y/N!" already.

Stannis waffling between wanting to do the proper thing and escort you on his arm, before chickening out and just walking beside you like he's always done.

These are getting really out of order, but I like the thought of you having an awful fucking night at a gala. Maybe a harrassing lordling, shitty rumors, catty ladies... something that makes you want to run and cry. So you do. You hide out in the gardens, trying to muffle your tears so no one finds you. But Stannis noticed you leave, because of course he did. And he goes out to comfort you, first by stiffly patting your back, then sitting next to you and trying to ... respectfully keep distance, but if you take his arm and curl up in his chest he really, really can't move. That's it. This is his fate.

After the rebellion, Stannis is more tired, cynical and closed-off than you've ever known him to be... but he still has glimmers of his more carefree, younger self when you're around.
