I thought my cup was empty...
I was just about to give up on this blog and delete it. But then I found out I that one person reads this blog. So since I'm NOT just talking to myself, I think I'll continue. I went grocery shopping for the month today. And of course I visited the coffee/tea aisle. I got my donut shop coffee that I like and then moved onto my favorite part of that aisle: the teas. There were ten different ones I wanted, but I narrowed it down to two, Celestial Seasonings Lemon Lavender Lane and Honey Vanilla Chamomile.
I tried the Lemon Lavender Lane tonight because honestly, my favorite color is purple. I hope you weren't expecting a more scientific reason than that. There isn't one. The important thing to remember about this tea is the flower aspect. Much like other flower teas, the flower tastes like something else (usually a fruit). Lemon Lavender Lane is no different; the lavender tasted like blueberries. But the surprise here was the lemon. With lemongrass, lemon verbena, lemon myrtle and lemons; I was expecting more of a citrusy taste. So if you're considering this tea because of the lemon, I would go with lemon zinger (also from Celestial Seasonings) or something like that.
Another thing I expected with this tea was that it would make me tired. Lavender has been used for years to help people sleep. So I made it in the evening. It didn't make me tired but it did relax me. Trust me that's a big deal. I have struggled with anxiety since I was a child. That's what started me drinking tea to begin with. But it does say on the box that you can drink it any time of day. I think this is gonna be something I buy a lot of.
