love me gently (or not at all) pt. ii
pt i pt. ii, some explanation of what went on between nico and logan and why the power-dixon pack came to get logan, i do think im gonna keep these chapters short so less than 1k words :) this was also kind of like a filler chapter of sorts
The Power-Dixon pack house was huge, slightly bigger than the Hamilton-Vettel pack house. Logan had, for a few years when he was truly a pup, grown here, had raced in the fields behind the house and camped in the forests that surrounded them.
The door is cracked open as they get close, Logan still tucked into Josef’s side, his bags being carried by Will as Scott lingered besides Josef. Dixon had already stepped inside, the melded scents soothing Logan as Josef gently nudges him inside.
The first thing he sees is the Pack Nest, mattresses pressed against each other with walls made up of blankets and pillows. A few pack members are sprawled out in it, but not the alpha Logan wanted to see.
They left his bag in an empty room on the second floor before leading him to an office, the atmosphere cozy despite the professional setting. Dixon takes the chair behind the desk while Will sits on the couch; Josef once again takes the lead, nudging Logan into the plush chair in front of the desk while he and Scott took guard behind him, Josef’s hand a steady pressure on his neck.
“Do you want to tell us what happened?” Dixon asks almost gently, “We haven’t seen you in a few years and your first call was for us to pick you up.”
Logan shifts, “Jenson claimed me a few days after Oscar and I arrived to the pack house. It was nice, but Nico, his mate, didn’t really want me. I really did try to appease him, I guess, but Nico wanted nothing to do with me.
“Do you know why?” Josef asks, “You’ve always been a well behaved pup, I hardly doubt you caused trouble on purpose.”
“My beats coming up in a few days and everyone else that I was close to had agreed to help,” He flushed a bit, “Not like that, my heats aren’t always like that, I just need to be with my pack, and I guess a part of me wanted Nico there.”
The air shifts and it makes him squirm, Josef’s fingertips digging lightly into Logan’s neck, “I think I lingered too close, Checo didn’t think Nico would snap at me and well, he didn’t in a way.” He looks down, the shame souring his scent, “He complained to Lewis that I wouldn’t leave him alone and that he wanted nothing to do with me. I guess he didn’t realize I was there and Checo tried to get me to—anyway, Lewis noticed and that’s when Nico caught on. I called Josef a few hours later.”
“I’m not letting you back there.” Will snarled, “Your pack mates can come see you, but Nico Rosberg and the others will not step foot into my pack house.”
The sound of multiple footsteps cut their conversation short as the door is nearly ripped open, Kyle, flushed and excited standing there. Logan moves quickly, launching himself at Kyle as the alpha laughs, easily catching Logan.
“Oh, Lo! You’re home!” It makes something ache in Logan as Kyle pulls back, “Come on, the others want to meet you.”
“Be careful with him Ky!” Josef calls out as Kyle pulls him out of the office, the door swinging shut behind them. Kyle’s excitement starts rubbing off on him as he directs them to a room on the bottom floor, the now faint smell of a freshly presented alphas lingering in the air.
Nolan is curled against David, fast asleep as the older alpha looks over his phone, a grin on his face as he waves at Logan. Kyle looks over at Pato, the omega watching them tiredly as Logan kneels on the outside of the nest.
Pato is on him, immediately scenting him before a small chirp escapes him. Logan stares at Kyle nervously before he takes a tentative step into the nest. He only lingers for a bit before Pato is pulling him down, pressing Logan against his chest.
Kyle sits on the outside, a pseudo guard as he watches Pato fret over Logan. His friend lets him, his scent easing into something content as Nolan shifts, instincts driving him to curl up against Logan’s back.
It had been years since Logan has laid in a pack Kyle was part of. Kyle could have joined Logan, but he had started courting Colton around the same time so he had to let his friend go. He knew Oscar would never willfully let Logan get hurt so he stayed on his side of the world, wrapped up with his own pack.
Logan had fallen asleep, whatever residual tension that he had finally seeping out as David properly joins the sleeping pile, draping himself over Nolan’s back. It makes his instincts go crazy as he carefully moves, wondering if he can convince Colton to come and lay in his nest instead.
