New theory even though literally nobody talks about this game anymore: I think Muma is a sleep paralysis demon of some sort, and that instead of exploring her own dreams, she’s invaded the dreams of another. Maybe she got shut in a “mental prison” while doing so and ended up getting stuck there for so long that she honestly thinks suicide is a better option. Considering how she’s named after a creature that sits on people's chest and gives them nightmares/sleep paralysis (as seen here) this theory seems pretty viable.
