Thinking about Sealed Flower AU

Down the line when Flower tries to give their parents a chance

Ebur notices they're down in the dumps about their now short hair sometimes, so she cuts hers short too

"Now we can grow it out together."

Flower just cries and hugs her tightly

She tries to be a good momma <3

Also wondering if she'd change her title to the Pale Queen or stay as Pale King

"king" is a gender neutral word in Hallownest but because it's been so often paired together with her previous masculine identity she might be uncomfortable with it

Also I think in normal FaaF Ebur might also trans his gender waaaaaay down the line

Though, I think it'd be nice if they slowly returned to using they/them and it/its after retirement, just a subconscious switch

They don't mind he/him but these were the pronouns picked for them by their subjects, and now that they're not really the king anymore they don't feel strongly about them. They were heavily assiociated with their time as ruler for them but now they're not that anymore, so...

But I think a lot of people still call Ebur "he" and he doesn't really mind, like he doesn't mind his children calling him papa

He truly doesn't feel strongly about pronouns, it's whatever

She might, with time, after she realises she prefers feminine terms and presentation, like in Sealed Flower

More gender journey; after some time maybe Ebur realises being a woman also doesn't fit her, that it's far more complicated and maybe closer to genderfluid or something indescribable but for now she likes the feminine and gender neutral terms and pronouns so she's sticking with them. He/him and masc terms aren't bothersome to her just not preferred. In a way she kind of associates them with herself that was a king in Hallownest's prime, before this kingdom's fall. She was an it/its as a wyrm, a they/them when she first shed her shell and at the beginning of her rule, a he/him as the god king of Hallownest and now she's onto a whole new chapter, just Ebur, a broken king trying to rebuild her equally broken kingdom.

Maybe she goes to Flower and Hornet for advice, since Hornet is trans and Flower has their own flavour of gender fuckery, and they put her worries at ease and reassure her she doesn't need to figure any of this out, she doesn't need to call herself anything if she doesn't want to, to just go with what's most comfortable

"So, okay, you don't think you're a woman but you still like she her and feminine terms, right?"

"...Y-yeah...Yeah, I think so. I'm happy with who I am."

Flower smiled and leaned down to gently nuzzle their heads together, purring to her, "Then you're still our momma~"

"Just do what makes you happy, mum," Hornet chimed in, gently bumping her with her elbow, "There's no timeline or deadline for these things. Hell, you don't have to figure it out, you can just be yourself."

"Do what makes you comfy, momma. If you feel best presenting this way then don't stop."

"I...thank you, you two..." She chuckled, "What would I do without you?"
