How the AU’s work

Each au has four version (book style in which it falls into silver eye’s continuity, game style in which it falls into game continuity, movie style in which it falls into movie continuity, and amalgam style in which it combines all three continuity’s into one)

In xanthophobia Cassidy is the villain (William afton die’s extremely soon in the AU and for once in his life never comes back)

So in my most of my AU’s the souls are able to grow old despit not being alive which explains any shipping you might see. Most of it isn’t my doing though

Elizabeth x Nick is only cannon in golden children

Unless its Evan x Cassidy or Mike x Charlie

TF2 is cannon in the golden children au (i mostly just wanted to make fnaf 2 Jeremy TF2 Jeremy)

The golden children au takes place in the late 80s to early 90s with flash forwards towards the pizzaplex era while the shattered souls au takes place in 1991 and the malefactor malfunction shifts the entire time line to start in 2000 GMTC takes place around 1999 to 2018 xanthophobia takes place in in the 2000s and 2010s

In shattered souls Springtrap is much nicer due to him losing his murdeous tendencies after getting spring locked

malefactor malfunction is a Ben 10 fnaf crossover with Cassidy having a version of the omnitrix called kaizotrix

okay, so i made a post like that with avery, vance, merrill and allen some time ago, but as you know, I HAVE A LOT OF KIDS NOW and i wanted to make a new version of that post! also the way i see my first four characters have changed a little, so.. yeah.

i made them in picrew because even though i'd love to draw them myself, it would take quite a lot of time djdkkdd

avery glass.

avery gets along better with "beautiful people" now and he's also more confident and doesn't think he's that ugly himself. his hair is longer now too. he also doesn't think vil is that bad and he even kinda misses him now, considering that vil is a fourth year now and avery doesn't see him that often. he's still friends with epel though and it's not so lonely with him around. he also created his own gardening club here back when he just transferred to nrc and it's more popular now and some people don't even care if avery was a rsa student in the past. he feels more comfortable in this school now and he actually doesn't regret transferring at all. maybe he really does have those "prince charming" vibes, like other rsa students, but he would rather be friends with villains because they (or at least most of them) accept him for who he is. but allen also suggested that avery can work as his gardener after he graduates.. avery is not so sure about it for now and told allen that it sounds stupid, but he secretly doesn't think that it's a bad idea.

vance mintberry.

YES I AM GOING WITH THAT CONCEPT OF DORM LEADER!VANCE BECAUSE I LIKE IT. vance is not that chaotic and hyperactive as a third year and he's a lot more chill now and he even has his serious moments sometimes. he's definitely not as strict as riddle though and heartslabyul students are happy to have a dorm leader like him, who knows how to have fun, but also doesn't cause too much chaos. he says he doesn't like when other students refer to him as the dorm leader though and asks them to simply call him by his name instead. vance is also taller now (170 cm), however, when riley stands next to him, his growth spurt is not that noticeable and vance is a bit insecure about it dhdjdkdkfk. HE THOUGHT THEY WILL NEVER HAVE SUCH A HUGE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE! and even if they do vance wanted to be taller than riley he's still into gaming and skateboarding too and he even participated in magishift and some other sports competitions because he doesn't care what his family thinks anymore. some heartslabyul students say that vance secretly enjoys being the one in charge A LOT though..

merrill gardner.

yes i forgot his moles. it's fine he can survive without them i say that as someone who has a lot of moles on their face YES. VIL MANAGED TO CONVINCE HIM TO BECOME A MODEL. LET'S GO. it took a lot of time, but merrill agreed because vil told him that he can't let his talent go to waste just because he's still mad at his parents. yes, they were absolutely horrible people and merrill didn't deserve to be treated like this, but there's nothing wrong with him enjoying being the center of attention and being popular for his appearance (as long as he's okay with it). and merrill certainly appreciates being complimented for his other qualities, but he actually enjoys modeling a lot! he also does it out of spite because oh, his parents wanted to use his looks for money and fame? well guess what, they're not gonna get any money from him <3 he still checks on other nrc students though because he cares about them and because they're always so excited to see him again/for the first time.

and no, even though he's a professional model now, he's still into cosplay because it really does make him happy!! also imagine his fans and megu-chan's fans finding out that their idol is the same person. how funny would that be.

allen snowhill.

i think he would finally be free of lumi's magic's influence, so that's why he doesn't have white strands anymore! yes i have ideas how others would save him, but that's a story for a different post and he has long hair now!! he's thriving!! you can still often see him wearing rather warm clothes simply because he's too used to them and he would need a lot of time before he starts finding lighter clothes comfortable. his personality is also more similar to anna's now and even though he still shows his yandere self sometimes, he's more chill about it now. as long as someone loves him, he's gonna be fine <3 he's doing much better now, he's more supportive of lumi and miles' relationship and he also regrets the things he said to riley in the past, but he still doubts they'll be able to reconcile because riley himself doesn't want to do anything with him. he's okay as long as riley is happy though. he's also thinking of becoming a writer after he graduates.

roland thorn.

roland would go back to briar valley after he graduates from rsa, he's sure his parents have missed him a lot. they are quite surprised to see how much he changed, but it's a pleasant kind of surprise. roland would start living alone and he would have a nice little house with a nice little garden next to it :) he's still not so good at gardening, but. um. he's trying his best. taking care of those plants also reminds him to be kinder to himself and he definitely needs that reminder though he still hates having to deal with dirt and that kind of stuff he's not sure what he's gonna do in the future, since he has such a low self-esteem, he doubts there's anything he's good at. so yeah, he would like to focus on taking care of himself and learning to love himself right now. but he's also thinking.. maybe he should get a job that's related to fashion in some way? you know, since he's good at stuff like sewing and knitting and he also can do makeup for others he never wears makeup himself though too. maybe he should talk about it with that ramshackle prefect, he knows a lot about those things. also lilia visits him as often as he can and they have nice conversations together as they drink tea :)

also, a design note: roland would go back to wearing darker clothes after he graduates from rsa and he also would have bangs on the other side to cover his injured eye, even though he still wears an eyepatch. it's not like he doesn't like his eyepatch anymore! he just feels more comfortable with a hairstyle like this, haha. (it's actually him trying to move on from his trauma and telling himself that he's not just "a guy who had a toxic relationship with his gf and got his eye injured because of her")

fake!jay polley.

OH BOY. HE WOULD GET QUITE AN INTERESTING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN THESE TWO YEARS. you see, being friends with allen didn't teach him anything good and jay ended up becoming a very self-centered individual who decided that if he's not real and he doesn't actually have a heart, oh well, he has to act heartless too. jay knows that he's smarter than his real counterpart, he knows he's much more talented than him and he knows that he owns real!jay's notebook, so.. he's the one who has his unique magic now. real!jay can't use it if he doesn't have his silly little notebook with him. so who's more real now, huh? and no, he's not his "evil clone", he's more interesting than jay, he's more popular than jay, he's actually his "better clone"! he's the literature club's president now too and he even has his own clique because rsa freshmen admire him that much! haha, his school life really is so fun, it's just like his creator wanted! and he wouldn't even be able to overblot no matter how often he uses his unique magic, because again, he's not real so he can't accumulate blot! he just becomes very tired after he uses his magic and he falls asleep right after he's done, so he will never overblot and that makes him the strongest magician in twisted wonderland! he will never overblot, right? right?.. he also may or may not become a yandere because of allen's influence. this guy is so used to getting what he wants because of his popularity and his unique magic, what do you mean his crush doesn't like him back?

real!jay polley.

real!jay, on the other hand, finally gets a character development that he deserves! he's still a bit shy, but he's more confident now, he looks so much better, seth really helped him get a whole glow up! he also starts wearing the uniform seth made for him back when jay just started living in ramshackle but refused to wear because "it wasn't comfortable" he actually thought he doesn't deserve to wear it and people are surprised to see how good he looks in it. his hair is also longer but he takes better care of it and it's not as messy as it was before. he sounds more polite than before and he has a more elegant vibe now, some people can't believe he was this anxious and insecure boy who refused to go outside and didn't know what grass is. he takes care of the ramshackle dorm building when seth and minnie are too busy and he doesn't find it tiring at all, he's glad to be useful to them. he also had a chance to transfer to a "real" dorm at some point, however, he decided to stay in ramshackle because he's too used to it and he doesn't think he's good enough for other dorms. the dark mirror thought of sending him to diasomnia though he's not sure about his future, but he kinda wants to stay at nrc, so.. maybe he could work here as a staff member? he still needs some time to think about it. and no, jay doesn't know anything about what his clone is doing and he believes fake!jay is living his best life.

austin valiente.

yes, he's wearing glasses now, because that's what happens when you spend so much time working with tiny details and staying up to come up with a new invention or fix someone's broken phone. if anyone makes fun of his new look, he will punch them. he also makes jokes about having to wear glasses instead of merrill since he's a fourth year now and people almost never see him it's him trying to cope he misses him okay. austin has thought about going back home, but.. he's not ready. he wants to stay in twisted wonderland for just a little bit longer. he misses his family a lot and he's sure they're very worried about him, but he's scared. he still doesn't know if he wants to get a technology-related job just like they wanted or he wants to do what he likes and try to do something more artistic. and he's also scared that they're gonna be mad at him and they're not gonna believe him when he tells them where he's been all this time. he really wishes he could talk to someone about his problems, but he rarely sees those people now and it doesn't feel right to talk about it on the phone. and about his personality, he's a bit calmer now. he still likes to bully others and laugh at them, but he knows when to stop and he's not that serious about it. some people even think he's more like merrill now, because sometimes him teasing them can make them go 😳😳. he doesn't understand why they react like that though.

minnie lynley.

she's doing so much better now! she's much more friendly with male students now, though she can still be strict with them sometimes, but she's doing it because she cares about them :) she's very popular and she has so many simps, but sadly, they don't have a chance with her because she and sebek are officially dating! MALLEUS IS NO LONGER A NRC STUDENT SHE SAW THAT CHANCE AND SHE TOOK IT. HE CAN'T TAKE SEBEK AWAY FROM HER. her personality is a bit different too now, she's more of an onee-san type now. and yes, she can be that soft and caring onee-san AND the one that goes "ara ara~" and makes you go get a wedding ring because you're this down bad for her. she also became seth's vice prefect when she was a second year and she still is one, though she likes to joke about her being the real prefect. she doesn't mind being seth's sidekick though, she actually admires him a lot and she's grateful to him for helping her get used to this place and overcome her trust issues and daddy issues. she really wanted to go back home when she just got isekai-ed here, but now.. she's actually okay with staying in twisted wonderland? she doesn't miss anyone from her world except her mom and she really does worry about her a lot, but she's not sure if she wants to go back home just for her sake, because.. if she does, she's sure that she will end up doing all the work again and her brother won't try to help in any way. minnie loves her mom, she really does, but she's not ready to see her again.

another character who changed his appearance in some way! hayden dyed his hair so that he won't look too similar to his family members and he actually feels much more comfortable with this hair color. riley's parents pretty much adopt him because they're so happy to see that riley has such a good friend, they don't care about hayden's past at all. so now he's living with them and riley even calls hayden his big brother and that makes hayden tear up a little bit every single time. he just.. he always wanted to have a little brother, he was so tired of being the youngest child.. and don't let that cool villain-like outfit fool you, he really doesn't try to act nice to make others trust him anymore and his words are more painful now, but he also shows his poor little meow meow side much more often. yes, he likes horses. yes, he has a huge sweet tooth and the moment someone mentions desserts, he forgets about everything else. yes, he has a soft spot for riley and he will fight anyone who hurts him you heard that vance. treat this boy right he really is much happier now because his family's crimes are known and they finally got what they deserved. he doesn't have to worry about them finding him anymore. ah, what he plans to do in the future? when seth asked him that, hayden was too busy eating cake, but seth noticed a book about insects in his bag, pointed at it and went "ah, maybe something with these little guys?". hayden almost choked on his food. so.. yeah, he kinda wants to get into entomology but don't tell anyone. ALSO HE HAS HIS OWN HORSE NOW BECAUSE RILEY'S PARENTS ARE RICH AND THEY ALLOWED HIM TO HAVE ONE. HE'S LIVING HIS BEST LIFE.

so. here's a reminder that allen and riley are related. and as you know, allen is very tall. SO RILEY IS THE SAME HEIGHT AS HIM NOW. YEAH. maybe even kinda buff who knows riley doesn't seem like that character who changed a lot in these few years, but those who are close to him know that he's a whole different person now. he still does act like his kuudere self, but only with those people he doesn't know that well. his friends know that riley can be much more talkative with them and he really does have a lot to say, even if it's just him ranking scented soaps he ranks them by flavor btw. not by scent. he's still popular, in fact, he's even more popular now, but he doesn't mind it that much anymore. he's not trying to avoid his fans, but he's also not too friendly with them, he just says something like "hey, i appreciate your support, but i'm a bit busy right now, so can we hang out later?". he doesn't want to be mean, but he also wants them to respect his personal space. his simps are not as desperate as before anyway, because the fact that he's dating the heartslabyul's dorm leader makes them go "OH. OH OKAY MAYBE I SHOULDN'T FLIRT WITH HIM". about his relationship with allen.. yes, he still doesn't want to talk to him after that overblot incident. but honestly, riley thinks it's better this way, he doesn't want to become obsessed with making allen like him again. he's just glad that allen is doing much better now and he hopes his cousin will find his true happiness one day. so yeah, he's doing good :) he's not sure about his future job and when he was asked about it, he just said "as long as it's interesting, i'm good with anything".

ashley "angel" leroll.

YES THIS IS ANGEL. YEAH. they decided that they want to look more masculine now and they also wanted to have a more "responsible dorm leader" look. it's their redemption arc and they really are trying to take better care of their dorm members and they know when to stop and when those students can do something without their help. they also try to treat bunny better and they don't let her overwork herself, even though bunny doesn't call angel her friend anymore. OH and speaking of their name, they actually prefer to go by their real name now. they just don't feel like they deserve to have a nickname like that after everything they've done. they try to stay optimistic though and they believe that they can become a better person and maybe, maybe one day they will become worthy of that nickname. they also hope that their brother will forgive them for what they've done to him, but they will understand if he doesn't. hm? what they want to do in the future? uh.. being a scientist sounds fun! haha, didn't expect that one, did you? and don't worry sol they still use kaomojis when they talk even though they don't do it as often

blythe "bunny" whitney.

pretend that she has bunny ears here okay she can finally be herself now! she doesn't try to be polite, she speaks her mind and she's strict, just like minnie, but not because she loves other dorm members, she just wants them to behave for once. she can't transfer to a different dorm, so she decided that if she has to stay in speculum, they will have to listen to her and follow the rules <3 sometimes she can be.. um, a bit cruel, but at least other rsa students don't have to run away whenever they see speculum dorm members. they're still chaotic, but the moment bunny looks at them, they go "YES VICE DORM LEADER". she's not friends with angel anymore and their relationship is more professional now, but she doesn't feel sad about it at all. she feels more free now, like she's finally done something that she should've done a long time ago. and yes, people call her by her real name now. no one is allowed to use that nickname anymore.. well, except hayden. but only when she's in a good mood. and maybe fake!jay can call her that too, hehe.. what, why are you looking at her like that? but she's jealous of angel already knowing what they want to do in the future, because she's still not sure about her plans. how weird, bunny always was the one to have a plan for everything and she was more organized compared to angel..

seth delaney.

okay so, i have never mentioned this before, but seth's vision is actually not that good and he has to wear glasses when he's painting, sewing, drawing, etc. and even though seth has a pretty high self-esteem, he's very insecure about that part and he thinks he looks like a nerd when he wears them. so yes, he's actually kinda blind most of the time hjdjdkdkd. but hey, that's still impressive, considering that he can easily guess anyone's measurements and he can tell what colors would suit someone even when he's not wearing his glasses. and third year!seth would start wearing glasses all the time mostly bc rollo was worried about him and made him do it and he also would stop dyeing his hair blond, but he would still keep the purple tips. his hair is longer now too, he's just trying to accept his past and stop running away from it! don't worry, he has even more piercings and tattoos now though. seth definitely would want to spend the rest of his life in twisted wonderland, he has no reason to come back to his world. didn't the dark mirror say that "he has no home to go back to" or something like that? that's why he wants to make twisted wonderland his real home. and it feels like one, even though it has its flaws and it's not as perfect as he thought it would be. he is still the ramshackle prefect, though nrc students don't see him as often as they did when he was a first year because of him still liking rsa and nbc more. and no, even though he really wanted to change schools, he loves ramshackle dorm too much and he can't leave his dorm members! um.. his future? well, he just wants to live a peaceful life with those he loves. that's it for now.

Ryunosuke Tanaka

Okay...this fucking guy. I have come to the conclusion that I would vibe with this whole team, to be honest. Including the coach. Like, its pure chaotic energy and I’m here for it. But Tanaka takes the cake for me. He’s a great guy, hilarious, and is just...honestly, he’s wild. The perfect extrovert to my introvert. And if you don’t believe me, my best friend since the 4th grade is excellent proof of that. I appreciate a character that gets me out of my comfort zone while making it fun. His antics are just too good to pass up and I know he’ll always have my back when I need it, he’s ride or die. I need a little bit of crazy here and there, and honestly, Tanaka is the perfect friend for that because he’s not Too Much. Like, he won’t get my ass in trouble kind of wild. I’d have to take a couple days in between hang out sessions to restore my energy, but I don’t have anything to really fear in terms of getting out of control. He’s just a lot of fun and very excitable. 

Fumikage Tokoyami

So, I wanted to say Kirishima, Mina, or Denki. Even Bakugo. But the truth of it is that I’d probably crush on them, and there’s a chance Bakugo and I would clash because honestly, we have too much in common. The fact that I jokingly threaten to fight or throat punch one of my best friends repeatedly has nothing to do with this at all...and that would probably lead to Bakugo and I actually fighting...so no dice. Then I thought of Jiro, who is totally punk rock and amazing, and yeah, that would work because we could talk music, tease Denki, and listen to Panic! At the Disco and My Chemical Romance together. But ultimately, I chose Tokoyami. And maybe its my goth showing a little bit, but we would have a lot in common. I think we would like a lot of the same things and he would have killer recommendations for books, movies, and music, if I don’t know of them already. And you can’t tell me he isn’t a fan of Edgar Allen Poe. Plus, Dark Shadow is amazing and hilarious, and we’d hit if off pretty well too. But I’m more of a dark person myself, I’m not a sunny person at all. So having a friend on the same level as me would be awesome, so we would be total besties. 

Dick Grayson aka Nightwing

Okay so like... Raven would have been an excellent follow up character, and just as valid because we would get along....but I’d be ashamed of myself for not putting him on here. I tried not to pick people I simped for, but I honestly couldn’t help it. Dick is one of the very very few characters I have a friends to lovers ship with when it comes to ocs, and its mostly because he makes such an amazing friend. Dick is the kind of compassionate guy that will let you cry on his shoulder, then do something dramatic or awesome just to cheer you up. His pun game is on point, his ridiculous, and he’s been a comfort character for as long as I’ve been a DC fan. We would be best friends and it would be so much fun to try helping him to keep the batfam from utter chaos. I feel like Dick isn’t one to judge someone, so I can tell him everything without worrying about it, and I also think he’d be very supportive with mental health struggles. Plus, he can introduce me to Sitka. 

Varric Tethras

THIS GUY!!! Okay, Varric is one of my favorite characters in Dragon Age, and honestly, he’s one of the best companions you have. I went back and forth between him, Alistair (because loveable redheads seems to be a reoccurring thing in this world), Dorian, and Iron Bull. Ultimately, I chose Varric because he deserves the love and he’s honestly another ride or die. Varric will literally go to the ends of the world for, or with, you (and he very well does, depending on game choices), and he’ll do it with a smile and a fun little quip, even if its not looking good. Varric is fun, caring, and also, a hell of a good time. He knows Wicked Grace to the point he’d probably beat me every time (I’m not beating my clothes like Cullen did though), and probably also drink me under the table. But not only that, the stories he would tell. Honestly, we could talk about stories, books, characters, everything of that nature for hours and he would love it. His sarcastic wit is super up my alley and matches, or even surpasses, my own. It would be a battle of puns. I would lose, but it would be worth it. 

Sakura Haruno

If you wanna say that this list is kinda rigged, that’s fine. I’m a little biased because not one character on this list isn’t a favorite of mine, but I’ve behaved for the most part, outside of Nightwing. Sakura...is definitely a biased choice. This girl would be my best fucking friend. Ever. And I might actually get a lot of heat on this one from the people that actually follow Naruto and are fans of the anime because she’s hated by the majority of the fandom...but I don’t care. This is a hill I will die on a thousand times and then a thousand more. She’s so damn caring about the people she loves, she’s strong, and smart as hell. I know she would always have my back, be there for me, and would be loyal as hell. Sakura is also a lot of fun, so I can just imagine the hilarious stories about Naruto and Kakashi, or the stories we’d make from our own shenanigans. We’d probably go to festivals with each other and also train together (she’d beat my ass, let’s be honest), and probably shop and work together. Sakura is a good listener and while she’s supportive, she would also call me on my bullshit, and let me know when I’m being an idiot, which I need. A best friend does that. Another ride or die that I would be honored to call a friend and another ray of sunshine I’d need.

RANKING HAISUTE (or the ones i’ve seen so far)

not that anyone has asked me, but i’ve literally been so hyperfixated on these shows for MONTHS and although i’ve gotten my bestie into them now, it’s not like i can bombard them with all these deep-ish dives into these things and how much and why i love them, so i thought HEY why not just put it out into the ether coz DAMN i really wanna talk about them.

under the cut for length (HELLA LENGTH) and spoilers.

let me preface this first by saying i havent seen ALL the shows yet. i havent ever watched the first run of Itadaki No Keshiki, and i havent seen any of the new Karasuno cast shows yet, as by the time i had gotten hooked on these shows, the time to watch Strongest Challengers and Battle At The Garbage Dump on DMM.com had passed, and with my limited budget (i havent been able to work properly since literally mid-July last year), it’ll be a while before i can afford their twin pack DVD when it comes out next month. ALTHOUGH i am hoping to be able to download Fly High on DMM.com before the availability runs out in the middle of March, if i’ll actually have enough money for that.

additionally, i rank these from my least favorite to most favorite, but that does not mean that i hate or dislike any of them. in fact, i have little to zero negative things to say about any of these shows. i just happen to love some more than the others, and i think you’ll be able to tell by how long i go on about each show. i’ll TRY to keep things concise but im telling you now, i’ve already tried this once until an accidental button press erased everything i had written, and this will not be short. at all.

i’ll start first with the things i love about Haisute in general:

quite obviously, the projections. before i finally saw Haisute this year, i had only ever seen BNHA, KNY and Kuroshitsuji musicals, and while they have awesome set pieces, i had never seen video projections utilized the way Haisute does, and i think it’s so wonderful and creative, and so technically sound on everyone’s part. like, it has to be so precise with cast performance and blocking and sound and lights...like. dudes. shout-out to the tech staff of Haisute, y’all are amazing.

the acting performances in general. i dont think there’s a bad actor at all in any of these. some stiff-ish performances (Noah Ishikura as Lev, but mostly in SoE, which was his first time acting ever, so understandable), maybe, but even those actors do great when they’re having a pivotal moment, scene or dialogue. it’s hard to pick faves but somehow i do have them, lol - Kenta Suga as Hinata (obviously), Kentaro as Daichi, Hiroki Ino as Suga, Kousuke Asuma as Oikawa, literally ALL THREE BOKUTOS, literally BOTH AKAASHIS, Ami Saito as Yachi, Tatsunari Kimura as Kageyama, and my top two faves, Shori Kondo and Takato Nagata as KuroKen. for obvious reasons (see: my numerous gifsets that i still have so much to add to alkdjf).

the music is WONDERFUL. the varieties across shows, teams and characters while still maintaining the main themes are just so good. it’s easier for them to be highlighted to since there isnt any singing, and so many moments are told through the music rather than the music accompanying the moment imo.

the choreography is gold af. im sad we lose HIDALI after Tokyo Battle, but im sure the rest of the shows still keep that amazing spark. but i juST. HIDALI’s choreography is iconic. i’ll talk abt it a bit more in some of the entries in the list.

OKAY, now on to the rankings.

7. View from the Top (2nd Run) so again, I DONT HATE ANY OF THESE SHOWS. the reason this is at the bottom of my list is mostly because of what it doesnt have through no fault of its own, rather than anything that it does. i personally love watching character growth and evolution, so for the most part, the first story in anything that has multiple follow-ups tend to be my least favorite part, and i come to enjoy them more as a “look how far we’ve come” thing. that being said, i do think this was such an awesome show to kick-off what has become an iconic 2.5D franchise. so much of it feels like the transition from potential to kinetic energy. a little show that could, and then did. i do think i enjoy this more with a nostalgic sort of fondness than i do with a “look how cool this thing is!” feeling, but again, that’s coz i enjoy watching things changing rather than at the start. what definitely stands out to me here is that i came to it this as only my fourth 2.5D franchise, and the ones i’d watched before this were so different in staging and execution, and that really had me hooked. also, this franchise honestly is one of the best casting in any show i’ve ever seen in my life, like wtf, i havent seen a badly cast actor at all, even for the side characters i dont really pay that much attention to otherwise. you cant help but be sucked into the bright light that is Kenta Suga, and Kousuke Asuma has to be the most Oikawa Oikawa to ever Oikawa anything Oikawa. Tatsunari, Ryotaro and Justin absolutely jumped right out of the manga and anime and onto the stage as Kags, Tsukki and Asahi. and GAWD do i love me some Kentaro and Hiroki as DaiSuga. i went in a big fan and simp of Hiroki Ino and Sugawara, so for the first couple of watches, i was heavily focused on Ino!Suga, but by the third rewatch, Ken-chan came around a corner and smacked me in the face with a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire. when that man smiles, i just get murdered.

6. Start of the Giant i honestly had a hard time picking between this and InK for the bottom spot, not because i hate this (AGAIN, I DONT HATE ANY OF THESE SHOWS), but because of how this show feels to me. ultimately, i picked this one to win over InK because of how much character progression is shown between these two shows. stating the obvious, KAZUMA KAWAHARA. HOO BOY. and big, BIG shout-outs to Kouhei Shiota for portraying Tanaka’s emotional roller-coaster so excellently to stride alongside Ennoshita’s big journey and Kazuma’s powerhouse performance. i also wanna spotlight how much more comfortable Tatsuya Kageyama was in his second go-around as Kags, and how well Keita Tanaka and Naoki Tanaka came in as new(old)!Daichi and new!Suga. it took me a while to get to this show because i was so sad to lose Ken-chan and Hiroki after SoE, and i thought i just would not be able to love DaiSuga the same way. turns out that that’s a good thing, because they do play similar but different DaiSugas to Kentaro and Hiroki. it possibly also helped to know that KT wasn’t entirely new, and to have known of Naoki from BNHA (with Hiroki!), although i hadnt known it was him until i started the show up at last, lol. Kentaro got to play a captain who was warm and very much one of the boys, someone who was growing into the role of a captain of a team that had a very real chance of going farther than it had in a while, while KT got to play a Daichi who, fittingly, was more established as a pillar of the group (and im sure the storytelling of this show helped with that), more of that Dadchi that we know and love. Hiroki got to play a gentle but mischeivous Suga who was all about watching over and taking care of the team, watching and waiting for his turn while understanding that Kags was their best chance, while Naoki got to play a more active, more athletic Suga who was becoming more active the closer the team got to Nationals. their performances stood out not just coz they were new, but because of the theme of this story in particular, about captains and leading, so i thought it was quite a nice way to welcome them into the fold. i also of course enjoyed Johzenji and Wakunan, maybe Johzenji more than Wakunan. i saw someone say they’re a bit like Fukurodani and Nekoma lite, and i can totally see and agree with that. this show also feels a bit like Revival lite, in that it’s got a fun first half and then a more action-packed second match with an emotional gutpunch at the end. but ultimately, this is lower on my list because, through no major fault of its own, it felt like a filler show, considering what was coming after this. it felt a bit like “lets’ get on with this story so we can get on to the last hurrah that everyone is looking forward to.” of all the side teams to have been portrayed in the Engeki story, i feel like i remember johzenji and wakunan less. again, that’s not really anyone’s fault, it’s just where this show was positioned in the timeline and what it was ultimately representing. as a parting thought tho, i just wanna shout-out the new lighting scheme they did for this show, especially coming from SoE where there was a lot of darkness or back-lighting. this show is brighter lit in general than most of the shows that came before it, and idky exactly but i do appreciate that a lot.

5. Winners And Losers objectively, this is probably one of the top 3 shows in all of Haisute’s history. but it’s lower on my list because it is the most taxing to watch and rewatch, not because it’s too slow or anything like that, but because it really just is such a tiring story, and i think that’s deliberate on the part of the writers and directors. this was Karasuno’s first major loss, and it was against an opponent they thought they knew, so of course the lead-up had to be a big deal. it’s also a story that revolves quite a bit around kageyama reaching a turning point and learning a few lessons that would ultimately change him, so the story had to also execute that change happening not just in Kageyama but around him. add to that the fact that this was Tatsunari’s goodbye performance (as well as Shohei’s as Noya, but then he doesn’t really get a big emotional moment here) and it’s just heavy on the emotions all around. the comedic distraction of ShoriTaka as Tetsuko and Kenko was honestly quite welcome, lmao. quick little shout-out to Kousuke Asuma and Allen Kohatsu as IwaOi, since they got to really show off the different sides to both those characters in this, and they just are stellar in general. that bit at the end of one of their flashbacks where Iwa-chan tells Oikawa that he’s not the only one fighting, there’s six people in that team, and Oikawa breaks into laughter as Kousuke strips off the flashback jacket, and Iwa’s like “uuuhhh did i hit you too hard, or?” UGH, i love that bit, that almost creepy laugh from Kousuke and the way he comes out of it to say “suddenly im not so upset” is just SO good. im also so happy to see Hiroki get his due as Suga when he finally gets to step up to the plate - or net, as it were - and basically pinch-hit for Kags. he plays senpai!Suga so sweetly, like you really can’t help but love him coz he’s so caring. i also did not expect to be hit right in the feels with the switch back from him to Kageyama, but that bit where he says “it’s frustrating, but hinata’s expression when he’s hitting my sets is different from when it’s yours” really got me. and then when he had to leave the court, asahi and daichi send a fist bump his way, and he gives just this tiny fist bump wave that’s both tired and disappointed and sad, and it’s juST! it hurts me everytime. and before this gets long, im gonna just spotlight the last 10-15 minutes of the show, right after Karasuno loses. Kenta absolutely nails Hinata’s expression in the manga, that wide-eyed disbelief and shock. and then when Daichi tells him not to apologize because he didn’t miss, when Daichi just walks over and hugs him, good gawd. (sidebar, but i’m so glad i got to see that bit with both Ken-chan here and KT in Strongest Team.) and the way Hinata couldn’t move after thanking the audience, not even after Ukai called him back, so Daichi had to actually go get him? my heart was in PIECES. and then the fuggin dinner scene. LORD ABOVE. like, if you dont love Kenta Suga as Hinata, this is the scene that should convince you you’re wrong.

4. The Strongest Team this is right smack dab in the middle of the list because it’s probably the best staged show of all the seven that i’ve seen, but it also hurts me so much for all the obvious reasons. this is the one i’ve rewatched the least, and everytime i rewatch it, i cry as if it’s the first time im watching it. the whole show absolutely feels like a tribute to the Karasuno cast and all the growth they’ve had and contributed to Haisute over their three years with the show, and the entire thing feels so fond, if that makes any sense. everyone on the team gets a big emotional moment, and it’s so sweet to see them each paid tribute. aside from them, i gotta AGAIN shout-out kousuke as oikawa. i like aoba josai enough, i like oikawa enough as a character, but that moment when kousuke absolutely broke down in the locker room after losing to karasuno broke my heart, even more so knowing that he absolutely felt all that gratitude because he wasnt sure he’d be able to come back to the show coz of his hip injury. i think one little moment that doesnt get as talked about as it should is just after he and Iwaizumi have that short convo of always being each other’s partners even after they’ve moved on to different schools. they do their fist bump, and then Iwa walks away, but Kousuke/Oikawa is still absolutely in tears, and as Iwa walks off, he just kind of reaches out and lets out a pained “Iwa-chan!” that’s just barely audible, and that jUST. GETS ME EVERYTIME. hell, im feeling a little heartstring pull right now just thinking about it. i also wanna shout-out Shiratorizawa because Engeki made me actually care about them. like, okay - i dont hate Shiratorizawa, at all. but watching the anime, despite having an entire season be around them, i just never really latched onto them. i like Ushiwaka enough, and i just...dont like Tendou (sue me). but Engeki Haikyuu has a habit of spotlighting other teams and characters enough to make you actually think about them and care about them, and Shiratorizawa was the biggest example of that for me. their theme is awesome, it’s this big, deep, heavy thing that feels as big and broad as the players look. and i could feel their almost militaristic teamwork when the coach is on them, and it’s so good. speaking of Coach Washijo, shout-out to that flashback scene to his younger days. Kenta looked absolutely risible in the wig and giant eyebrows, but i think it was an important touch to have the person playing Hinata be the person playing younger Washijo, because their inner conflicts are basically the same, and Washijo comes to appreciate Hinata’s efforts because of it, so i thought that was a nice touch. (still dont like Tendou tho, sue me.) i gotta end this entry coz it’s getting long, so im just gonna quickly list my favorite scenes/moments:

Yamaguchi’s pinch serve, and bringing out the spear. Kairi Miura wields that spear like he’s been doing it all his life.

Tsukki’s big “GODDAMMIT I THINK I LOVE VOLLEYBALL NOW” moment. the expression on ryotaro’s face right at the end of that scene, where he’s basically saying “it’s just a club, AND YET!” uuuggggghhhh, please i love it. also, shout-out to when Hinata pointed at him and just said “...nice.” like...that always feels like only half Hinata and Tsukki, and more half-Kenta and his best friend Ryotaro, just like the “Tsukki! that one was worth a 100 points!” line that absolutely gets Ryotaro so that on the live cam he had to turn his head away before he meant to for the next bit.

that moment in the last-ish set of the match where everyone is just DESPERATE to win, so it becomes this frantic rally and volley where everyone just starts to grunt and yell louder and louder, and people are running back and forth and jumping and diving, and it’s just this cacophony of sound and blur of movement that just seems to stretch on and on, until finally Shiratorizawa just yells “SHUT UP! WE’RE STRONGER!” and knocks all of Karasuno down. WHEW. that bit is just. WHEW. i almost always forget to breathe at that point. and then the waterworks get turned on as Ukai tearfully tells them to get back up, because volleyball is a sport where you HAVE to look up. LORDDDDD.

the bit towards the end of the match, after tsukki returns from his injury, where they absolutely acted out Ushiwaka pushing Hinata and Tsukki to the floor and holding their heads down. when i first watched it, i gasped because that is straight out of the anime and manga, and then when the rest of Karasuno came in to pull Ushi off, i just turned into a giant sobbing mess.

the graduation curtain call, obviously, but in particular, the bit that will ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, destroy me is when Kenta says “this show was so tiring and tough sometimes, but when i look back, all i can remember are the good times, the best times.” GODDAMMIT IM TEARING UP BADLY RN JUST THINKING ABOUT THAT BIT.

3. Summer Of Evolution this is where the lines between the rankings get a little bit blurred, because i love these top three equally for the most part, but i had to choose a number two (i absolutely know what my number one is), and when i really think about it, SoE just gets edged out by my number two, but barely. i think what i love the most about this show is that this, more than any of the other shows, really portrays these characters as high school kids. and that’s not just because part of the story is set in the school and it’s actually showing the school sometimes, but coz they’re going through and portraying teenage experiences and emotions. most of the other shows portray the team in matches, so we’re seeing them more as volleyball players than teenagers or students, but we get to finally see that here, and it’s really refreshing. other than that, im gonna try to just list some of my highlights and favorites again coz i dont wanna keep going too long:

im so glad to finally have girls on the show, and not just in a “YAY FEMINISM! GIRL POWER! WHOO!” kind of way. kiyoko has always felt like an inextricable part of the team for me, so it was bittersweet to have such a great Karasuno cast but without a Kiyoko, so i was REALLY happy to finally get her here! and for a first time actor ever, Shizune was so awesome! she absolutely has that gentle strength that Kiyoko has, and the way she’s been written in absolutely does feel like she’s always been there. i do wish she got more to do with the third year boys, but all in all, it’s SO good to have an actual Kiyoko who absolutely looks like she came out of the manga.

im also just so DAMN happy about Yachi and her portrayal here. i think ami saito is so dang perfect, and yachi is such a fun addition that fits right in with the chaotic fun of Karasuno. one thing that i REALLY love, though, is how she gets to just act. before Haisute, my only experience of female characters and actors on a 2.5D stage is with Uraraka (and two or three other female students) in BNHA and Elizabeth in Kuroshitsuji, and those characters are your typical cutesy girls, and their movements and body language are so typically girly, you know what i mean, those softer arms and smaller movements, looser fingers, these little “Kyaa~” things, those things. but Kiyoko, Yachi and Saeko arent like that, so that’s not how they’re portrayed here. Ami as Yachi is just as loud and expressive and active as the Karasuno boys, bar actually playing in a match. also, her chemistry with Kenta is SO GOOD. i dont really ship YachiHina, i think they’re cute friends, but BOY DID THESE TWO MAKE ME RETHINK THAT. ami’s Yachi with Kenta’s Hinata made me think “YOU KNOW WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE TWO GO ON A CHAPERONED DATE.” they’re adorable. a particular fave of mine is when hinata climbs a tree to help a baby bird back into its nest and he asks Yachi if she wants to climb up too, and also after Yachi finishes making the Hinata poster, she jumps onto the back of Hinata’s bike and they ride off-stage together. PLEASE IT’S SO CUTE.

OH HI FUKURODANI. they are such good chaos boys, i love them. i dont have much to say about them here just yet, but WOW im so glad to have them onstage at last.  

NEKOMA IS BACK THANK GAWD I LOVE NEKOMA. of all the teams portrayed, i think nekoma is the one that feels the most connected together (AHA!). like, even when they have a new character and/or cast member, the new ones never really stand out as new, they feel like they’ve always been there. this play really showcases the teams at their most casual so we dont get to see as much of their excellent teamwork and connection as we do in past and future shows, but you really get a sense of their family dynamic and just GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, and honestly dont get me started on ShoriTaka, i will literally never stop

shout-out to Tatsuya Kageyama, he had big shoes to fill not just in terms of character but also as an actor, since this is his first show ever. much like with KT and Naoki as DaiSuga, it does feel like he plays a similar enough Kageyama without just mimicing Tacchu. this is also the right Kags arc to introduce a new Kageyama actor with as well, since there’s a big change after that loss to Aoba Josai and Oikawa, so i think the writing of the show also absolutely helped Kage-chan ease into his role, and helped the audience ease into this new Kageyama. overall, i think he did an awesome job, and we’re really fortunate to have had two awesome Kageyamas before gen 1/1.5 changed to gen 2.

i also just noticed/realized that the backstage video for SoE starts with the introduction of Kage-chan and Fucchi as new cast members, and ends with the farewell to Ken-chan and Hiroki as graduating members, and i know that’s just natural coz the first time the Karasuno cast met the two new members was at the photoshoot for visuals, but also what a nice little circle of life there.

COMING INTO THE HOMESTRETCH NOW, if you’ve made it this far, thank you SO MUCH, im sorry, i really just have a tendency to ramble, and like i said, i dont really have anyone or an opportunity to talk this deep about these shows to, so thanks so much for your time.

2. Karasuno, Revival! WHEW okay, so idk if this is Unpopular Opinion or controversial coz objectively it is the best show so far, and i’ve put it only at number 2. BUT LISTEN: before i saw Tokyo Battle, this was absolutely my number 1 favorite. the Dateko match is so good and so fun to watch, and honestly, that rap battle gives me so much life im almost immortal now. i LOVE that they also got to show ikejiri (THANK YOU KENTA SUGA) and ken-chan as daichi got his moments because of it, and it gave us “katou tou shinakya, katenai!” as an iconic quote and theme for the show, we got a fantastic moment for Asahi that was paid off from the previous show, also honestly “otchita kyougo, tobenai garasu” is just gonna be stuck in your head forever for a while. we also got Kousuke and Allen’s excellent IwaOi back, bringing with them their “Iwa-chan, are you my mom” dynamic (and gawd the cackle i let out when Iwa yeets a volleyball at Oikawa, or that turn and yell that makes Oikawa yelp as he exits off stage lkasdjf), which is always a plus. but! BUT!! best thING FOR ME???? NEKOMA, BABY!! like im sorry, im biased, but i fuggin LOVE nekoma, kuroo is my favorite character in the entire series, and Haisute really gave them a fantastic story and dynamic, because again, there’s so much you can do on stage that you sometimes cant do in anime or manga, so they were really able to highlight Nekoma’s famous teamwork, especially when centered around Kenma. more on that later, but like. it was just such a JOY to watch Karasuno, still kind of scattered puzzle pieces at this point trying to figure out how to best go together to create one big picture, go up against the smooth teamwork of Nekoma, and learn and grow from it. also they honestly have the best team theme music and team dance, fite me. also thank you Haisute for making KuroDai so painfully real lakdsfj

1. Tokyo Battle okay okaY OKAY OKAY OKAY. i think there are some people who actually like this the least coz it’s just too different from the rest of the shows that came before it - no Karasuno, less projections, different music style, aesthetically different stage, etc. B U T. aside from me just being biased because Nekoma are my favorite team, i actually think many of those differences are what makes this show my favorite one. first of all, the music is LIT AF. the themes for each team are so distinct, they really help play up the animal motifs that are played up the most in this show than in any of the others. secondly, THAT CHOREOGRAPHY THO. good gawd. HIDALI said “it’s our last Haisute, let’s go out with a bang” and they really fuggin did. Fukurodani absolutely is TOKYO PARTY TIME, they got to really play up their party birds schtick and i love it. Nohebi i cannot HELP but love because i love snakes, but also, with Nohebi’s cast, you can tell the choreographers were so happy to finally have an actual technical dancer. they had yuu fukuzawa doing the most and then some in playing up the snake theme, and it’s literally so hypnotic to watch his pops, locks and isolations. he’s also just such an AWESOME daisho, and it helps that nohebi are written to be cunning and sneaky. i also love that he and Kuroo seem to actually have a lot of untold history, and i kind of wish we could get a bit more elaboration on that, coz Yuu’s and Shori’s chemistry as frenemy team captains is SO GOOD. and then of course. NEKOMA, BABY!! so okay. kenma absolutely should be the lead of this show, and he is, BUT he’s also, to a certain extent, inextricable from Kuroo and the rest of the team, so that you dont always get that feeling of Kenma being in the spotlight the same way Hinata is (for understandable reasons since Nekoma arent even really the main characters of the story as a whole), and i think that’s important because, again, Nekoma is all about that teamwork and connection. like, Kenma is the lead because he thinks for Nekoma, and Nekoma acts accordingly, instead of how it is usually where the story is showing Hinata’s perspective alone. it also feels like that in terms of the actors. like, technically Takato is zachou, and he is, but also several times in the curtain call speeches, the cast members refer to or mention both Takato and Shori together. even Takato says that when he had spoken to Kenta about how nervous he was about taking up the zachou mantle from him, Kenta had said “if it’s you and shori, you’ll be fine.” they are a unit, and it really comes across in their portrayals of Kuroo and Kenma as well, and even if you love nothing else about this show, you literally cannot help but love that about them. i think the show does a great job revolving the Nekoma team dynamic around that too without making it the ONLY thing that keeps Nekoma together. the star of the show is absolutely the theme of “connection” (more than the other theme of promises), and if you’ve seen the show and you dont cry at the “Tsunage” section as Nekoma wins the match against Nohebi, then are you really watching the show lmao.

Cassandra Cain, kid!Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman: i just feel like cass needs to be around pre teens/teens her own age. i think she would love that billy can turn into an adult and i just feel like freddy would try and come on to her and show her his batman stuff and try to impress her (hinting at her cb counterpart)

Helena Bertinelli and Katana: god i feel like these two would bond a lot over being stoic warrior women who overcame their trauma and are striving to be better and it would be very heartwarming if they became friends (also karen fukuhara needs to come back!!)

Billy Batson, Barry Allen and Victor Stone: you cannot tell me these three wouldn’t all get into hijinx together like yes even though barry isn’t actually a child i know he and adult!billy would get along really well and victor would be reigning them in but also enjoying their company as well

Dinah Lance and Bruce Wayne: bruce takes an interest in her after seeing her metahuman and vigilante activities around gotham and after a rocky start he would invite her to the league and maybe she would meet up with them but ultimately she says no and stays as the leader of the Birds of Prey but she’ll always be around if bats ever needs a super strong canary cry

Lois Lane and Renee Montoya: Lois goes digging around in gotham for her next story and needs help finding something out, who better than to help her out more than a ex-cop turned vigilante? i feel like renee would immediately respect lois for being a fearless woman always trying to do good so i feel they would relate to each other

YESSSSS WE'RE DOING THIS okay so this is very self-indulgent, i should've probably done something.. you know, like i could finally post some of my ocs' backstories or write more vignettes or voicelines/chats for them, BUT NO. I'M ASSIGNING THEM PRISONERS' SONGS. it's okay, it's gonna get pretty deep and i will psychoanalyze them a lot in this post <3

okay, but the thing is that i'm actually not doing this like "this character is this song", i'm actually choosing multiple characters for most songs. the reason? i couldn't decide which song fits which character more and i had too many ideas, so.. yeah. also it's just really fun to imagine my ocs covering these songs and singing them together!

(warning: milgram songs are pretty dark, obviously, and this analysis gets even more darker as we go deeper and some moments.. yeah, they show just how depressed and broken my ocs really are)

"if i tried and couldn't say it, you would get angry at me and say "you're hopeless". if only i could do what anyone else could do, the right future unfairly chose the wrong me" OKAY WE'RE STARTING THIS OFF WITH SOME GOOD ANGST. so at first i wanted to just use real!jay for this, but then i read the lyrics again and i was like ".. oh, this is haydencore actually". because i remind you, hayden's childhood was not good. this song's lyrics describe hayden's relationship with his family perfectly and i can say the same thing about real!jay as well. hayden's family really was abusive and punished him for pretty much everything, even if it wasn't that bad or it was just him doing something that made him happy, meanwhile real!jay's family members are more "neglectful", they don't exactly hate him, they just.. don't care about him at all. they actually were very loving towards him when he was little and tried to show that they care, but it didn't help much and real!jay still grew up to be a very sad boy who doesn't believe in himself and has an extremely low self-esteem. so eventually they just went "oh well, if you don't want to talk to us, we won't bother you anymore" and they really stopped bothering him which made him feel even more lonely, but he still refused to spend time with them. so yeah, in this case i think real!jay is actually more similar to haruka, because his family actually did treat him well when he was a child and also the main reason why jay's relationship with his family became worse is him not being "smart enough". can't believe my son is a haruka kinnie where did i go wrong also such lyrics as "my life started in a wrong spot" and "my loneliness was desired" fit hayden A LOT.

so, why did i choose these boys? okay, so first of all, it's the vibe. we all can agree that a song like this would fit allen and seth SO WELL, like it's their aesthetic, especially allen's. also of course i had to choose allen for a cute love song that actually has a darker meaning! and i think seth is very similar to yuno, so i really wanted him to have at least one of her songs and then i made him have two . about hayden, this song is literally perfect for him, because it's pretty much about yuno creating all these personas for her clients and HAYDEN CAN RELATE. also, i feel like the beginning of the song gives off "how hayden would act if he was in love" energy, haha. ("why are you here? you annoy me a little, i can't smile well anymore, it's because of you")

also, the "what type of girl do you like" part fits all of them so well, but, like, in different ways? hayden has to pretend to be a different person to make others like him, for seth it's something actually cute and romantic and for allen it's something more creepy and it's just him being his yandere self as usual. and i think that moment where yuno falls off the stairs, catches a balloon and looks more happy after that is very sethcore? it feels a lot like him running away from his sister and getting isekai-ed.

LISTEN THEY GAVE ME A SAD LOVE SONG BY A MORALLY GREY CHARACTER AND I TOOK IT AND GAVE IT TO ROLAND. i feel like i don't have to explain this one, we all know how roland's backstory goes and his relationship with his ex, so i just wanna say that i think this song is perfect for him, especially the moments where shidou says stuff like "don't forgive me" because roland still thinks that he actually doesn't deserve forgiveness. no matter how hard he tries to make people like him and become a better person, he will never truly change his ways and he will always end up becoming obsessed with his love interest and getting into another unhealthy relationship again.. but that's a story for another day.

why did i add jay too? ah, it's just because of the song's aesthetic jdkdksdk. COME ON WATCH THE MV AND TELL ME THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE JAY'S VIBES. DO IT. also i just think jay's soft and pretty voice would fit this song a lot!

okay, so at first i was sure that i will go ONLY with allen, because this song is so allencore, it scares me. however, i read the lyrics again and.. yeah, allen and angel are gonna have a duet together.

so we all know that allen is a yandere and it's one of his main personality traits, and he's very similar to mahiru, he's just as obsessed with love and romance as her. however, the thing is.. angel's view on love is just as twisted as allen's. i mentioned in the past that i see angel as aroace, but it doesn't mean that they can't be obsessed with platonic love! both of them are so unhinged, it's actually very hard to imagine them having a healthy relationship with someone and it doesn't matter if it's platonic or romantic.

let's think about allen's obsession with love first. why does he want to be loved so much? why does he want to find a s/o already, why is he so ready to marry them and spend the rest of his life with them? yeah, the answer looks simple at first: he's a rich kid who had a very lonely childhood. lumi was his only friend and he didn't like riley that much, so he usually avoided him. and when his parents said that they can't let him and lumi keep being friends, something inside him broke. he was forced to spend the rest of his childhood in complete loneliness and butlers and maids were his only company because he didn't see his parents that often. also allen used to read a lot and most stories he read were very romantic and they always had happy endings, so.. of course, little allen thought that love is the only thing he needs to be happy. that's why he dated so many people, only to get disappointed when he realized he didn't feel anything at all. he just wants to stop feeling lonely. he just wants to feel happy again and if love can't give him that happiness.. what's even the point of him still being alive? so this guy can definitely fall in love with someone, but let's be honest here, he will mostly see his s/o just as a cure for his loneliness at first. he will overwhelm his s/o with his love, he will love them so much that they will eventually get tired of him, but it's okay, that's just him showing how much he cares about them! so they won't leave him, right?..

also here's a fun fact! i think i mentioned it before, but allen actually never killed anyone before, even though he can literally summon knives, but he still never used them to stab anyone, he just uses them to scare his rivals. and if he finally tries to stab someone one day.. that's when it turns out that his "spoiled rich kid self" is actually stronger than his "yandere self". why is there so much blood?.. he didn't want to get his clothes dirty, he feels so gross, he's so angry at his victim, he should take his revenge on them! so he keeps stabbing them, but of course, he just gets more blood on his clothes. this just makes allen even more angry and he will order someone to get rid of the body while he's trying to clean himself up. and no, he's not gonna do the dirty work! that's his servants other students' job! so yeah, allen is definitely dangerous and he's not a good person, but he's actually more pathetic than people think and he's too lazy to kill someone. sure, he can stalk his crush, blackmail them, force them to date him, kidnap them, but he can't let even a drop of blood get on his clothes. he was okay with it during the ghost marriage event because it was fake and vance assured him that the prefect is going to love it.

ANGEL IS SOMEHOW EVEN WORSE THAN HIM. actually, this song fits them even better than allen. angel is obsessed with "fixing" other people, making them feel better, helping them and then they will say that they're just showing their love this way. however, they will try to fix that person even if they don't need their help or they're actually doing fine. what do you mean, you're not going through anything bad? but angel has never seen you smile! and no, saying that you just don't like smiling or you're not comfortable with it won't work. don't worry, angel will take very good care of you <3 even if it hurts, even if you cry more often than you did before meeting angel, even if you're in pain, just remember that they're trying to help. it's them showing their love and you better appreciate it. just look at what they did to hayden! they turned the shy little boy that he was into a popular and charming student with a perfect reputation! look at what they did to bunny! she has such an important position now, she's the vice dorm leader and after angel had to leave, she even had to become a dorm leader until they came back! angel gave her so much, they're sure that bunny loves them just as much as they love her. look at what they did to their little br- ah, you don't have to know about that.

so we all know that bunny doesn't like angel even though she pretends that she's still friends with her. and their friendship really was kinda wholesome when they first met and angel thought bunny was cute and wanted to get to know her better. but as both of them got older, bunny realized that their relationship is very unhealthy and she didn't want to be friends with someone like angel. she realized just how manipulative angel really is, you see, the reason why bunny is such a perfectionist who's obsessed with always doing everything on time and doing everything better than others is because angel told her that it's okay to be like that. in fact, angel encouraged this kind of behavior and told bunny that she should keep acting like that so that she can show others that she really is better than them. at first bunny truly believed that angel just wanted to help her with her self-confidence, but.. she's not so sure anymore. she really wants to get better, she wants to feel more relaxed, she wants to have fun with other dorm members even though she claims to hate them, but she can't, because the dorm leader themself taught her to hate "chaotic and irresponsible people" like that. and even though bunny hates angel so much, she still can't tell them the truth. maybe it's because she knows she won't have any friends left if she stops hanging out with angel (hayden will most likely leave her after that) or maybe she still wants to believe that angel is a good person. so she just keeps hoping that angel will be the one to end their friendship.

this song describes hayden and bunny's repressed anger perfectly, both of them are tired from people around them and they want to become free from those who have authority over them (in hayden's case, it's his family and azul and in bunny's case, it's angel). they're okay with doing not so morally correct things to achieve their goals and they're used to pretending to be someone else so that others won't suspect anything. though in mikoto's case he literally has multiple personalities but. you get my point

also i chose these lyrics because both of them don't think their actions are wrong. hayden thinks it's okay to lie to everyone and use them and bunny thinks it's okay to say bad things about angel and other dorm members behind their backs and secretly control them with her unique magic. they don't think that they're the villains and they will do anything to make themselves look better.

i love minnie, but. let's be honest, she would most likely be a kotoko apologist 😭😭 minnie is a very strict person, who can be quite judgemental, but even though she thinks that she's the smartest one, she often makes decisions that are.. not so good. like, she can often act out of pure spite and it doesn't help that she has a secret sadistic side and sometimes she just wants to see other students suffer. and in the end she will always say that she just wanted to help them and it's for their own good and they're just too dumb and can't understand it.

minnie does have her reasons to act like that, just like hayden and bunny, she has a lot of anger inside her and she doesn't know how to cope with it. she wants to do something about it, but even though seth is the ramshackle prefect, he's not the best therapist, so he can't give her a good advice. so minnie has no choice but to lash out, scream and blame everyone but herself.. though it wasn't her fault that her dad left and her brother refused to help minnie take care of their mom. but minnie is just too afraid that the same thing will happen again and she will have no one to rely on and she doesn't want to feel as lonely as she felt in the past. so she just keeps pushing everyone away, yelling at them, pointing her finger at them and saying that they're the bad guys. she wants someone to tell her that she's right, comfort her and assure her that she did nothing wrong. so yeah, the "i want to be drowning in the knowledge that i am right" part fits her perfectly my favorite part of the song tbh it says a lot about kotoko's character i think

okay, so why is this song perfect for riley? you see, this guy actually hates his fans. this is exactly why he refuses to show his emotions, he hoped that his fans will think he's creepy and will avoid him, but it didn't work and now people think he's even more cute. but no his quirks and weird personality traits are real and he's not pretending and the main reason why he hates them is not because he's an introvert and wants to be left alone or something like that, but because 1) he thinks allen deserves to be more popular and 2) he knows that his fans don't know that much about him and they see him only as this pure and innocent boy who always has this face 😐. he would be okay with them if they actually liked him because of his achievements, his talents, his personality, he would even be okay with them liking him only because of his appearance. however, people love him only because they believe that he's this perfect cinnamon roll and he's not like that at all. riley is just as flawed as them, come on, he still refuses to leave his cousin alone even though allen hates him! and no, that's not him being cute, that's him refusing to accept that someone can actually dislike him, even hate him. he's used to people loving him and even though he doesn't want to accept their love, he doesn't want to accept them hating him as well. the "so nauseating, so creepy, will you please disappear" part is perfect for riley and it shows how he actually feels about his fans.

fuuta's songs are perfect for austin, okay? in short, i chose this song for avery and austin because both of them are very insecure and cope with it by making fun of others and being mean, but the moment others start treating them the same way, they start to panic and they either beg for forgiveness or.. have a breakdown. avery ended up overblotting because of how much rsa students hated him even though they had a good reason for that and whenever people bully austin or simply point out his mistakes, he locks himself up in his room and cries into his pillow, so yeah, he's much more sensitive than he looks like.

also, i think it would be fun for vance to join them to cover this song, i feel like this song's vibe fits him well and it's just very fun to imagine avery and austin having an existential crisis and rethinking their actions meanwhile this guy is jumping around and going "BURN BURN :D"

listen. the shading and coloring might be a bit messy here and also i didn't really try to make their outfits "historically accurate" or anything like that, i just went with anything that looked pretty or elegant enough, haha.

also i spent six hours working on this. i think it's okay for me to be lazy with shading and coloring because of how tired i was

so, for this event i chose seth (because he's my mc, so of course he's coming), merrill (because he was the only nrc oc that came to my mind when i heard about this event. i just think it would fit him), hayden (yes i know i've been giving him way too much attention lately, but. i had to make him interact with rollo, come on, HE IS GONNA MEET SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER SEVEN), allen (i just wanted him to wear an outfit like this), roland and fake!jay (again i just thought that this event is perfect for them)!

I HAVE A REASON TO ADD RSA OCS TOO, OKAY. it was mentioned that other schools are also participating, so i'll take it as a sign that rsa students are there too <3

now, some design notes because I PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THESE OUTFITS.

seth's outfit is supposed to be similar to grim's because it was mentioned in the event that their outfits look almost the same. but grim insists that he still looks better

seth's mask is dark purple and it (+his cape) has sun motifs as a reference to the flag of corona, rapunzel's kingdom. it also has "a drop of sunlight" in the center, but it's not that noticeable.

IT'S A JOKE FROM THE SERVER, but i decided to make it canon: seth's shoulders are actually open here, but when rollo saw it, he got a bit nervous and he gave seth a cape, so that he can cover them. seth didn't like that, but he agreed to wear it, because his mind went "okay, this guy looks kinda scary, i probably shouldn't get on his bad side".

merrill's outfit is mostly purple with some pink details, as a reference to the colors of meg's outfit. he also wears a hat this time too because i miss estelle (and her mom too, of course) 😔

ANOTHER JOKE FROM THE SERVER, at first merrill showed up in a more revealing outfit and he liked it a lot, but rollo said that "it must've been the wrong version", apologized and asked his assistants to bring the right one. merrill wasn't happy about it and he even wondered why would they make an outfit like that in the first place. he also didn't like that he has to wear something completely different, meanwhile seth still gets to wear his outfit, he just had to cover his shoulders.

hayden's outfit is supposed to be a MUCH MORE simple version of azul's outfit (or octavinelle one in general), not only because i was lazy to draw ALL THE DETAILS, but also because a version like that fits him more in a way. hayden doesn't want to draw too much attention to himself or at least that's what he says

his mask is supposed to look like a chameleon and his belt is supposed to look like it has eyes on it. i originally planned to draw more eyes on it biblical angel-core and all, but i changed my mind.

allen's mask has the same colors as one of anna's dresses from the first movie and his outfit has a lot of hearts on it as a reference to his romantic nature. it also has pink and blue colors, like the sweater he usually wears.

YES, ROLAND EYE REVEAL. at first i thought that maybe he didn't get an eyepatch at all could be a subtle reference to rollo possibly hating fairies but what if he actually could choose between a mask and an eyepatch and he still chose a mask because he wanted to look like he's actually going to a masquerade? he would say that his eyepatch wouldn't fit for this event and he doesn't want to stand out much. he also would apologize to everyone if they think that his "other eye" looks scary.

I THINK YOU CAN REALLY SEE THAT I GOT LAZY WHEN IT CAME TO ROLAND'S OUTFIT JDKESDLSLSDL. it has this nature theme, because of course it does, he's the gardening club leader! so yeah, there's a lot of flowers, tree branches and leaves, if you look closer.

i wanted jay's mask to look like it has vines on it and i'm not sure if i succeeded dnjdkdkd. i also thought that maybe he could have this "young detective" vibe? i don't know why i thought about that, but it seemed like a cool idea to me.

so i thought that if nrc outfits are mostly black (or have dark colors), then rsa outfits should be mostly white, but jay doesn't really wear anything white here (except some details). it's like a reference to him being different from other students and him not being "real".

home tap 1: "i just want to get a break from azul already.. why did it have to be him? honestly, i would be okay with the leech twins going with us, he's just that annoying! hm.. what if i text floyd and tell him that azul really did cheat and that's why he and jade weren't able to go? i wonder how he would react.."

home tap 3: "there are so many rsa students, but it looks like angel didn't come with them. and blythe too.. to be honest, it's a bit boring without them. and it looks like the speculum students feel lost without them as well. that catboy is doing just fine though, i'm not surprised."

summon: "i look beautiful as always, right? haha, i know that. i just wish that guy would let me keep the first outfit, i looked even better in it."

groovy: "if i'm not dancing with you all, it doesn't mean i'm lonely or anything. i'm just talking to my cousin, what's wrong with that?"

set home: "i have to spend three days here.. i sure hope it's not gonna be boring."

card description: he's holding a really cool sword and looking at it with this :O face expression, like he's never seen something like this before. as for the groovified version, the card looks much darker than everyone else's cards and it has this red lighting which makes allen look more scary and intimidating. he still has a smile on his face and he seems to be holding out his hand to someone, asking them to dance.

summon: "all of this sounds so romantic! could it be.. i'll finally get a chance to dance with hayden? hehe, i can't wait!"

groovy: "now, would you like to dance with me? don't worry, as long as i'm with you, nobody can hurt you, even hayden. him being a cheater is one thing, but that loser can't even dance properly!"

set home: "i'm so excited for the festival! hey, hey, are you excited too?"

home idle 1: "for some reason, hayden isn't paying any attention to me?? it's almost like he's avoiding me for some reason.. i don't get it, why is he following that rollo guy everywhere? hey, can you do something about it, prefect-chan?"

home idle 2: "nemis-chan looks so pretty in that outfit.. u-uh, what, i'm not staring or anything! anyway, where's hayden? i should go and find him- oh, i almost tripped."

home tap 2: "whoa, i didn't expect roland-senpai to reveal his other eye today. it honestly doesn't even look that creepy, i don't understand why most students got so scared of it. maybe i should go and comfort him? ah, i just remembered that he still hates me.. well, who cares about that, i'm gonna do it anyway."

groovy: "haha, being a fae in this situation is so.. inconvenient. i'll still try to help others though. that's what a reliable upperclassman should do."

home tap 3: "don't you think it's strange that even though it's called "the city of flowers", we haven't seen any flowers yet? i'm very curious about this city's "special" flowers as someone who's a gardening club leader.. it's a shame that avery-kun couldn't come with us, i can imagine him asking rollo-kun about them until he agrees to show them."

home tap 3: "i've actually done a lot of research before going here with everyone else. i won't deny it, i got really excited when i heard that i'm one of the students who were chosen. as for allen-senpai.. he just went "oh, hayden is going to be there? okay, i'm coming then!" he really thought that he had a choice too.."

16. "if your muse could say one thing to their childhood self, what would they say? would your muse want to meet their childhood self in the first place?"

allen: i doubt that allen would want to see his younger self. thinking about it makes him feel so.. sad, he had to go through a lot when he was a child even though his parents spoiled him. allen wouldn't want to raise his child self's expectations too high, but he also knows that love was his main motivation to keep living for a long time, so if he did meet his child self, then he would tell him to never stop believing that one day he will find someone special.

7. "did your muse have any enemies? playground rivalries? how did that turn out?"

allen: there were some kids who didn't like allen that much and were jealous of him because of how rich he was, so every time he tried to talk to them, they would tell him to go away or they would actually fight him. it's part of the reason why allen is so strong now, he eventually learned to fight back and he got used to dealing with them. also, you can kinda count riley as his enemy, i guess? though allen didn't really hate him back then, he just thought that he was a very weird kid and avoided him.

11. "what expectations were placed on your muse as a child? who had those expectations for your muse? how did your muse feel about them?"

roland: roland's parents are actually kinda similar to riley's parents because they let this guy do anything he wanted and that's why he was such a troublemaker in the past. they never had any expectations for him, they even would be okay with him becoming a bad person because they were just so happy to have a kid. and now roland kinda wishes his parents were at least a bit more strict with him, maybe he wouldn't grow up to become such a cruel and violent person if they tried to stop him. roland is a lot like his parents now, if you think about it, because now he's obsessed with making people like him and he's okay with doing anything they want from him, even if it hurts him and he knows that those people have bad intentions.

13. "what did your muse want to be when they grew up? did they have any childhood dreams, and have they achieved them?"

minnie: little minnie wanted to become a president!! >:D no, when people asked if she wanted to be a princess, she said that it would be too unrealistic because she's obviously not royalty and she's not planning to marry one, she would rather do everything without anyone's help. and about achieving her dreams.. well, uh, at least she becomes seth's vice prefect in the future.

14. "who was a mentor or a hero to your muse as a kid? why did your muse look up to them and what did your muse learn from them? how is that relationship now?"

minnie: the closest thing minnie had to a mentor/hero was her mom and she still respects her a lot. minnie says that her mom was a very admirable and hardworking person before her dad left and that's when her mom lost all hope and motivation. she still loves her mom, however, she's not sure if she wants to go back home, because even though she misses her, she has lost a big part of her life (and it was supposed to be the most fun part of her life, it's her childhood after all) because she was too busy taking care of her and trying to help her get better.. and she's too scared of it happening again. she can't go back home until she's absolutely sure that her mom is doing fine and her brother is okay with taking care of her if something goes wrong.

18. "what's one thing that instantly transports your muse back to their childhood? why?"

angel: it's sugar cookies! angel's older sister liked to bake them often and angel liked to steal them from her when she wasn't looking. also reading outdoors! again, it's because of their older sister, she enjoyed reading in their family's garden more than her room and angel liked to sit next to her while she was reading even though angel found her books boring since there weren't any pictures.

8. "what did your muse do in their free time? How did they entertain themself as a kid?"

seth: oh, he did A LOT of things. he read as many books as he could (mostly fiction and he believed all of it was real), he painted, he played games, he watched movies and videos, he also spent a lot of time online and that's how he learned to do so many things, he just found the info he needed and used it. his sister luna praised him for his work, but she also reminded him not to push himself too hard and she actually found some of his hobbies too dangerous, like there was a time when he accidentally broke his leg when he tried to learn how to dance. he also tried to cut his hair without luna's help once and he ended up injuring himself with scissors and that's why his hair stayed long for so many years, luna refused to let him do it himself and said that she's the only one who's allowed to cut his hair. and whenever seth asked her to help him, she simply said "you look better with long hair, so let's keep it"

tbh my characters often end up being really similar to some other characters on accident, like i don't really use those other characters as inspiration, they just.. somehow end up having the same vibe? for example, i wasn't inspired by ame/angel from needy girl overdose/needy streamer overload when i made ashley, but look at them, they look almost the same and they even have the same nicknames! i actually wanted to change ashley's design when i realized this, but then i went "you know what. i'm keeping it, it's a nice reference, even though i didn't plan this". though i do often get inspired by certain character archetypes, for example, when i made merrill's design, i wanted him to have that "a character who wears glasses, has a mostly serious personality and has a lot of simps" energy JSJDKDKDK and then i ended up changing merrill's personality completely and allen was inspired by characters who look harmless at first and they're mostly there to be funny, but then turn out to be much more dangerous than other people thought.

1. Were you inspired by any other character for any component of them? (physical appearance, personality traits, dynamics, etc. besides if you base them off a disney character)

2. Show how they would write/print their name with this website, if you can’t find a font that suits them, feel free to make it yourself!

For Yumeko, she was inspired by many characters with the genki personality, with some traits inspired by other characters, but her main inspirations are sayori from doki doki literature club, yui hirasawa, and tsumugi kotobuki, both from k-on. 

Her handwriting is in the Pinky Caramel font!

11. "is there a character your oc sees as a sibling?"

avery: hmm, maybe roland? though he doesn't really see him as a big brother, he's more like.. a grandpa to him. maybe even a weird uncle.

vance: before he overblotted, he used to see trey as his big brother figure! but now that he knows that trey lied to him about that competition so that "vance won't be sad".. yeah, their relationship is much worse now.

merrill: well, iris IS his cousin, so of course he would see her as his sibling! though he hates to admit that he's younger than her. he doesn't want to be a cute little brother, that's vance's job!

allen: to be honest, he actually kinda sees lumi as his older sister. she is so smart and reliable after all!

roland: all gardening club members feel like siblings to him!

both jays: they kinda see each other as twin brothers!

austin: i'm not sure he has one? well, he does have actual blood-related siblings, so it's fine djdjsksls.

minnie: ramshackle students kinda feel like siblings to her! seth is her funny older brother, eureka and taruchi are her adorable sisters and she will do anything to protect them and real!jay is her brother that she has to force to go outside. he's idia to her ortho basically also i think she'd see blanca as her big sister 🥺

hayden: he definitely sees riley as his little brother and he's VERY protective, though he doesn't show it. also hayden always wanted to have a little brother because he's tired of being the youngest and riley is perfect for that.

riley: and he sees hayden as his big brother! he trusts him and he doesn't think hayden is a bad person and even after hayden's overblot, he still wants to help him and make others realize that hayden is better than they think.

angel: hmm, nope, they don't have one! maybe it's hayden? though if they saw him as a sibling, he would be like a little brother to them even though he's older.

bunny: .. can they call angel their annoying little sibling? she knows they're the same age, but.. it does feel like angel is much younger than her.

seth: ALL FRESHMEN ARE HIS YOUNGER SIBLINGS. HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH HE'S ADOPTING ALL OF THEM.

16. "how would your oc describe their entrance ceremony from their pov?"

seth: "for me, it was sooooo sudden! like, i remember falling asleep and when i woke up, it was so dark, i even thought that i died for a second! and then i saw fire and grim was there, yeah, i also thought that he was a raccoon at first. but he turned out to be a cat! that's even better! and then this cat asked me to give him my uniform?? like, dude, i'm sure it looks better on me! so i refused to give it to him and ran away, i didn't even think that much about the uniform i was wearing, i just knew that i don't want this cat-like creature to steal my outfit. and then a man in a raven mask showed up and it was crowley himself! i remember him trying to explain to me what night raven college is and how this world works, but.. to be honest, i didn't really care. i was just happy that i finally managed to get out. i was happy that i won't have to see her anymore. and then i met others and wow, i didn't think that this school will have so many pretty students?? they are too cute to be villains! but i was a bit disappointed because i wanted to attend a school like rsa instead.. but hey, maybe i'll be able to find my happy ending even in a place like this?"
