Muro:

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? 

This goes far far back to Muro starting as a ffxiv oc- but the opressive and rigid structure of isguardian society and the way he was considered an expendable weapon as a dragoon still has a massive impact on him, the way orphans and poor children were turned into weapons few would mourn when they inevitable lost their battle against dragon kind and how the powers that be used him as a pawn in their games. Even in jojos where hes no knight or soldier hes still a pawn in someone else's eternal battles, preyed upon and manipulated into futile battles at the whims of others. He manages to somewhat escape and have his happy ending tho

5. Is there any significance behind their hair color? 

Yes! Its one of the few signs of his blood ties to Dio, the orange shading for Dios hair in the manga translated into a darker brown orange over time combined with a metallic sheen from Muros time in pathfinder. Metalic hair then became a fun trait to put on Dio as something vampiric

15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh? 

Hes such an old man at heart... give him a garage a vintage car to fix up a record collection and some audio books and he is a happy happy man... Its also very tragic but every time i imagine some character coming face to face with his Just Some Guy energy when hes chilling it makes me laugh. Truely he was meant to be a cool if dorky uncle who the family later goes OHHH Autism about. Not what horrors do happen to him. Someone starts talking about cars in a very tense mission and then suddenly he brightens up and an unskippable cutscene starts about like the history of vehicle modifications to allow smuggling or something

2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind? 

Again, back to ffxiv roots, but he was originally based on Haurchefant Greystone, starting as an AU where he was more bitter about his fathers treatment of him, Paula his dead mother and Muro [or at the time Celia] his half sibling who became a dragoon to fund his learning where his stepmother held back the funds. So in fact Muro ended up designed for him, as a character to break him out of his passivity and encourage his anger.

11. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation? 

I think he would have been bisexual at the start but he turned into a gay man pretty quickly and its stuck ever since.

18. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC? 

hm its been a while but that he is actually somewhat interested in sex as long as hes on a different continent and has had bottom surgery. Paranoid asshole, i love him sm. Rametta feels veryy betrayed about it

Ty Florian!

For Elena theres one main thing, and thats her- for lack of a better word- survivors guilt. She worked her ass off and put so much effort into ensuring she got to the next level of education, part of which was carefully crafted a mask from traits and mannerisms that people often perceive [wrongly] as signs of greater intelligence. The guilt she feels at being able to put that effort in and have that mask work, meaning she takes that opportunity and leaves behind everyone else to suffer, will always eat at her.

Elenas effort to pursue success paid off while mine crashed and burned and played a major factor in the intensity of my chronic pain, but we both grapple with the feeling of being lucky and leaving people behind. I didnt obstruct anyone elses access to the opportunity i got- but i didnt need to, the whole damn education and class system did, with me and a few friends being lucky enough to learn how to play the game of perceived intelligence and politeness, to have our brains work the way they do and not having to work long shifts while in critical moments at school to get us lifted above the rest and given opportunities everyone else was denied. Its something we both have to live with, acknowledging how we got lucky and yet trying to stop the guilt consuming us because guilt is a self indulgent emotion that doesnt help anyone.

Hedgerow Crawlers my beloved band<3 Its a song about the cycle of creating and how art, specifically music, speaks truths but is also a curse handed down from one creative to their pupil. Someone needs to sing the truth, but its a burden that can isolate you. Its very fitting for Georgie, he feels driven to speak truth and sing his song, and it fits the slightly eerie power of his songs with all the talk of prophecy. The interlude also fits him, someone who does have a magical connections with the birds and beasts around him, and i love the idea that some of his tunes are inspired by the songs of birds hes known

This song is also on my Muro & Co playlist but it fits Dina very well, the talk of monitoring people, and being threatened and threatening in turn, not to mention the repeating line of "And I dread, dread to think what the future will bring/ When we're living in gangster time" which reflects her own dread as Passione usher in a new age of criminal organizations- one of superpowered gangsters. The catch 22 lines also are relevant to her- She could sing like a bird and try and expose Passione but it would just end up with her silenced and someone less kind taking her place.

Multiverse AU for your gang?

OOh ty Dujour! for this ask game

M. multiverse. Are there any points in your OC's life where things could have gone differently? Where else might they have ended up? How would your OC react to crossing the multiverse and meeting another version of themself?

The main point where things could change is Passione not existing, their lives wouldn't be easy but they would be easier without the bloody conflicts that Passione incited and the stand arrow and stands meaning that Passione wouldn't let go of them. Tesoro would have still ended up a criminal, just never having the fear that pushed her to the same lows. She would also realize shes not a man much earlier, though without the power she gained it would likley be harder to leave. Muro would take over the garage from Marco [who wouldnt end up in prison] but would still maintain those connections and keep it as a font so he could support Paula and Cecio without Passiones money. Elena wouldnt cut of contact as much when leaving, and Dina might not get into uni but she would eventually have her skills recognized. Cherry would be utterly different without the death of her family, Passion are the only people who could get her out of her multiple life sentence but they are also the ones who caused her getting it. Conficcare would likely still change but he would get to actually help people as a doctor. Rametta would have a better chance at a future, hell even a normal life, even if money would be much tighter. Without the chaos, Russo becoming homeless would likley be noticed and Muro would hire her for the garage. Money would be tight for all of them, and they would be much more powerless, but they would also be overlooked by people with the power to hurt them in ways they sorely want.

Meeting their alternate and largely happier selves? Would go fucking badlyyy. Conficcare in particular would fly off the handle and i wouldnt put it past Cherry to kill them because she hates the idea that some other version of her got to be happy. Muro would take it the best and by best i mean he would break down crying and it would haunt him for the rest of his life. Rametta would also lash out, this girl who gets to live a normal life?? it hurts so much. Dina as well would find it very painful, seeing a version of herself that didnt have to warp herself to survive. On the happier side... well they are glad they didnt deal with Passione and then they are screaming about how they didnt have it easy either. Mess all a round...

I think Tesoros dad has a dog and there's some weird dynamic stuff going on with the dog being the fav child because it cant talk back [<- projecting so hard] Tesoro loves the dog but is also bitterly jealous of it and i dont think would even choose to have a dog as a pet.

hc + 🎡 for a hobby-themed headcanon

Cherry loves buying kids chemistry and robotics kits and making the most dangerous thing she possibly can with each of them. She takes notes so its ScienceTM which means she has boxes full of notes on what you can make with each diffrent kit and she can only use whatever is in the box or the instructions explicitly say you should find yourself as a challenge. If pressed she will say its so she knows what is an easy source for what chemicals/components or to practice ingenuity but really she just finds it fun to make something deadly out of something meant for kids. She will often use her creations on her targets and note the effectiveness of them.

5. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?

its her character defining trait and the answer is wayy further than is sane. literally any distance. only caveat is if it will hurt her she will be wary, but normally it just means she gets other people hurt instead of herself. not sure what to say for this other than that!

luckily for most people her goals are do interesting things and gain power, not world domination [yet]

but if it serves either her long term goal of strength and power, or her shorter term goals that will lead to strength and power then it will be done, unless it hinders the goals to. [e.g. killing the leaders of the crusades and taking control she she can rule her own city state would get her power and strength but also a long line of people trying to kill her]

her goals are long term stable strength and power, not short lived & unstable, shes got a long lifetime, and if making nice or even just civil and making a few sacrifices gets her respect and power then thats fine for her.

tldr: she will do anything to get what she wants, but given what she wants is so vague/distant she does'nt always seem it as shes willing to compromise on short term wants that are normally just curiosity to benefit her long term wants.

9. Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?

ohh this is hard to pin down.

for the quotes: theres one spesific screenshot that floats around tumblr about how people misunderstand ruthlessness and it describes the goal oriented nature of it and its so her<3 i cannot find it rn and thats a tragedy

for song lyrics: my playlist is here so ill just do my fav:

the thing is shes so complex that its hard to think of something that so her that isnt very long, and her type of quote isnt the kind ive collected

18. Is your OC more cold and detached or up close and personal?

ohhh this is making me think.... mura makes these questions so unnecessarily complicated...

the thing is im leaning cold and detached because i can see her inner thoughts, where she is cold and detached most of the time, but externally, she is often detached, but cold not so much: and not very detached either, shes an observer when shes not the center of attention, and uses small gestures to mold someones view of her more than big gestures.

ok so actually answering: on her own, or in a situation where peoples long term opinion on her will never matter: cold and detached all the way. however, that rarely happens, and with the crusade, its happening even less, so she is outwardly personal but still a bit detached

What memory would your OC rather just forget?

mm i haven't nailed down her backstory rock solid enough to specify yet, but definitely something to do with her father, or her childhood friend. a memory of a time her father was kind to her, it would disgust her, because he needs to be fully evil for her to be able to hate him without complexity, to draw a line between them. for the friend, it would be a memory of when she genuinely loved her friend, the moment she realized she didn't just wast to manipulate her. if she erases that, then the little girl was just another mark that dies. this is probably the one she would chose. i would say a memory of her mother would be a contender, but shes always easily forgotten her.

3. What is your OC's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?

fatal flaw hmmm. what comes to mind is huberis/pride & wrath but for all her anger is a flaw, its a flaw shes used to dealing with, pride/huberis is by far the more dangerous one. she has the be the smartest person in the room, not necessarily in terms of any specific skill, but she has to be the one in control at all times and she has to be right in the decisions she makes, if she does make a mistake then it cant actually be a mistake and she has to prove that to herself and other people.

if she is exposed for her true nature, its most likely that its after she messed up and tries to cover it up, her panic over being wrong leading to her slipping up and being caught, or just her making the wrong decision leading to a path of bad things and she refuses to turn back, dragging everyone else into her mistake.

is she aware of it? well she knows that her making the wrong decision is bad, but shes not necessarily aware of the full extent of how it damages her. if she was answering this question honestly she would probably say rage, but that's her flaw, not her fatal one

23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

i answered that here! and it actually ties into what i said for no.3, with the emotion she struggles the most expressing being repentance because she hates being wrong that much, and the hardest to process being greif because she self sabotages and logics away the greif in part due to her inability to recognize her own mistakes because if shes sorry someone was hurt that means [she has emotions like any living thing] the hurt wasn't strictly necessary and that means she made a mistake [shes a massive control freak but i feel i dont need to say that by now]

16, What is your OC's pain tolerance like?

it takes a lot for her to visibly be in pain, she has to be right at the bottom of her health bar to be noticeably in pain physically, however it will affect her emotionally, especially when shes in getting hurt over a length of time with gaps in between, when she in a fight, she can channel her irritation and pain into the fight, often ignoring it almost entirely, but when shes just walking, especially when shes actively being perceptive, she will be uncomfortably aware of the pain even if it wont disadvantage her physically, it will mentally.

think autistic pain tolerance- it often takes a broken leg to notice even any pain, but when it builds up it affects you emotionally, and if your trying to be aware of your body, it will be painfully present.

19. How does your OC behave when enraged?

from the outside? she gets colder and less lighthearted, eventually shes visibly pushing the anger down, often she will have here eyes fully open, and her body will be stiffer, from here she can either control it and speak terrifyingly calmly, but with her rage in full awareness of the people around her, or she can go batshit, either just attacking people or screaming at them. her going batshit is rare- but like her pain, her rage is more built over time and smaller things, until the straw breaks the camels back and she has to stop herself from physically & verbally tearing into whoever was the unlucky fool to be the last straw.

internally, her inner monologue gets more bitchy and snappish, eventually being taken over by thoughts of acts of violence, and sloppy justifications for them.

23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

guilt. she is violently opposed to any sort of self reflection and guilt is the fastest emotion to get her there. for her self image to work she has to be an unfeeling unrepentant villain who see's everyone as tools

guilt is either ignored or explained away through logic- those people who died under my orders were a necessary loss for us to continue on, they died to give us information, and so on. every wound and death and hurt can be explained away as necessary and serving her, her guilt it just her knowing/being annoyed about the value of the tools she traded for that opportunity/advantage/win.

express. probably repentance. even when she is doing it to fool someone, saying she was wrong and regrets what she did rankles her, she hates admitting her mistakes, and would rather use any other tool to win someone over.

The Authority as Stand Users, so wildstorm in jojos. they would have somewhat similar powers but with the added complexity of only other stand users being able to see their powers- or stop them

I took one look at the rainy frozen hell that is Ishguard and said i love this place, same with jjbas Naples with Passione and going way back, James and Natasha and their love story while they were both soviet tools.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

The Authority! its crept up on me and I'm not the most active but i regularly check the tags and interact with people about it! Marvel i more lurked and its come and gone, same with DC, and everything else has been newer. Ffxiv has been longer but i interact with 2 people online about it and avoid the fandom bc spoilers so i really wouldnt count it.

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?

Gods gonna cut you down by Johnny Cash! I gotta say my WoL Arakow, shes not exactly a god but shes certainly a force of nature in her own right and an inevitability to those who cross her path. It also makes me think of Dark Kights, so Sidurgu too for a canon character.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

For canon & oc i have to go with Estinian and my WoL Arakow... those Dragoon quests resonated so well with Arakows mental state at the time [Poor Estinian...] and that added a delicious complication every time they interact and firmly interwove their character arcs in my canon. Friendship is a stretch until well into post Shadowbringers but they are a platonic relationship of all time for me<3

Gonna answer this with Muro and like Hate would be Polpo/The Boss but annoyance? Giorno all the way. jumbled jojos part five spoilers under the read more [not that much of jojo can be truely spoiled] you said what i want to answer best you are getting it<3

Theres this FIFTEEN YEAR OLD KID and he wants to be THE DON and he KILLED THE DAMN BOSS and MURO NEVER MANAGED TO.

Giorno is the protagonist and he can win this rigged game that was seemingly unwinnable and then he dares to criticize what Muro did to survive as long as possible? Muro is never more aware of the way fate doesn't favor him than when he finds out about Giorno and how he defeated the boss. Muro was shaped so strongly by the founding and rise of Passione, all of those close to him were, and he suffered for decades trying to find a way out- and this little punk went from joining Passione to defeating the boss in roughly a week.

I think learning that they are both related to DIO would just sour their dynamic more, learning that what set Giorno apart wasnt even just some random quirk of fate but the fact that Giorno had Jostar blood and Muro didnt would wreck Muro, all the suffering those around him went through, all because of the timing of when his ancestor was impregnated by Dio.

I've joked that if Muro was canon he would be an antagonist in a spinoff light novel of dubious canon adherence but in terms of his place in the fate of the jojos universe that is the status he holds, someone who has to cling to survival until the protagonist comes along and saves the day.

A lot was lost to defeat the boss, Muro knows that, but those lost lives had a meaning that then invalidated the meaning of all the lives lost before them.

so yeah. That blond kid annoys the ever-loving shit out of him as just another example of why fate never favored him.
