A Brief History of the Blockchain

A general understanding of the concept of a Blockchain may be helpful to understand its essential characteristics. Simply put, a Blockchain is a virtual computer file for keeping information together. In simple terms, it is an online, public ledger (Database) that functions like a shared, accessible database. However, the benefit of using the Blockchain is that one does not need to trust anyone else in order to access or transfer the value contained therein - an essential feature in society. Here's how you can use the basics of the Blockchain to make yourself a profitable day trading venture.

The most important characteristic of a healthy Blockchain is transparency. Public blockchains are based on smart contracts that automatically ensure that money, time, and any other asset is transferred according to the terms of each transaction. To put it simply, the Blockchains promise to be transactionally transparent, and therefore, permission-free. Thus, there is no need to ask for permission, worry about the audit process, or otherwise be at risk of your asset being misused in some way. Transparency is the underlying trait that makes the Blockchains more trustworthy than traditional methods of financial trading.

Another fundamental quality of a healthy, honest Blockchain is transaction cost. This is attributed to the distributed nature of the system. Since all computers participating in the transaction have the same set of properties, the costs associated with each transaction are the same. Again, this brings with it the promise of transaction cost efficiency.

For these reasons, theBlockchain is said to offer solutions for two of the biggest problems associated with conventional ledgers; namely lack of privacy and lack of authenticity.

With regards to privacy, the lack of a centralized administrator makes transactions more difficult and prone to fraud. With regards to authenticity, theblockchain is designed so that each transaction is cryptographically secured so that third parties cannot break the lock to gain access to the information in a transaction. Another advantage of theblockchain compared to traditional ledgers like bitcoin or eToro is that it's very easy to follow the transaction. The transactions are recorded in a ledger that is publicly accessible so that everyone can see what is going on. There is no need for a third party to trust the validity of theblockchain, which is why many people see theblockchain as resembling the workings of a currency.

A big advantage that theblockchain technology provides lies in the concept of distributed ledger technology. This concept refers to the fact that the ledger stays local to the user, whereas the traditional ledgers are centralized and are replicated globally.
