It’s been a long time since I could post some fun travel/creative ventures. But today I attended the #theboxshop opening of their mural project which myself and my duo @belladonnaartiste created a couple murals for. But I also got to see all the wonderful murals and art created by 70+ artists. Fashion will be popping in Durban this festive season - #TheBoxShop @Dbnfashion_fair ‏ The Box Shop (a stylish pop up fashion shop) will be doing a pop-up tour of the city from the 1st of December until the 3rdDecember 2017.

Versteckt, im Borselhof in Hamburg liegt der Konzeptladen “The Box”.  Hier vermischen sich ganz normale Geschenkartikel - von Büchern zu Haushaltsgegenständen - mit ausgewählten Designer- und Fundstücken aus dem Vintage Bereich. Die Architektur des alten Fabrikgebäudes hat schon seinen Charme für sich, der gigantische Kronleuchter in der Mitte des Raumes aber haut einen um! Eventlocation ist “The Box” übrigens auch noch. Schönes und spannendes Konzept finden wir!

I introduce to you my first personal mural piece titled, “Don’t Silence Me.” I created this at the #theboxshop along with the duo collaboration to the right of it which you can see on our Instagram page @belladonnaartiste. I was very much challenged creating this. Part of it was my own self consciousness of whether my art can become the murals I so desire to make. I am confident in making my fine art. But this certainly was work on all levels mentally, physically, emotionally. But in doing my research I found a tone of other abstract muralists and didn’t feel so alone. I just needed to regain my faith in me. THE BOX SHOP MURAL OPENING PARTY RECAPS: Part 1!!!! Thanks to everyone who came out to Saturday's celebration for the 80+ murals by local artists commissioned and installed all around the yard and shop for all to see! SPECIAL THANKS to the extremely hard work and dedication of @charlesgadeken for putting this MASSIVE project together!!!!! It was great to see some many old faces and experience so many new ones on Saturday. The energy was super enthusiastic, a friendly reminder of why I live being an artist in the city so much!!!! The Box Shop partnered up on this event with the SFMTA as they are putting up new murals on the K-rails near the shop with some community partners. Please see the invite photo attached, along with the event flier from Liveable City/SFMTA. Two projects were celebrating on the same day with City and neighborhood leaders: The Box Shop Mural Project and SFMTA’s community-created ‘quick build murals’ added to safety cement barriers (K-rails) near the Box Shop on Hunter’s Point Boulevard. Also on view were two impressive large-scale artworks in the making in the warehouse/maker-shop. 'BREATHE II' Nova Color and Acrylic Paint on Metal 8ft. H x 5ft. W Commissioned Thank you to @gadeken_art for hooking up this latest mural at The Box Shop in Hunters Point. This is now my second mural commissioned by The Box Shop. This specific piece will be mounted on the their entry way metal gate exterior along with the works of several Bay Area artists including @rickyratcomix, @calamityfair, @samagram12, @naito_oru, @amosgoldbaum, @matleyhurd, @gatsptv and so many others. This ongoing project aims to produce murals along every stacked shipping container door that houses different style work spaces for painters, sculptors, welders and even people dealing with robotics (that was my original door). Additional murals (such as this one) will extend upon the exterior wall of the compound (950 Hudson St.) for all of the public to see!
