No because your literally correct. The strategies Max has been given that are hard as fuck and he makes them work. France 2021, Austin 2021, Austin 2022, Red Bull pull him in earlier or they switch Max to a two stop and he makes it work and honestly Brazil 2022 as well. Max was at the back literally twice and he managed to catch up to Checo fucking pass and pull 4 seconds on him. I haven’t seen Checo do that this season.

When checo wins an actual race without Max having damage then they can talk. The amount of accounts I’ve blocked over his interview it’s beyond crazy.

Checo is not near the talent of Max. If he wants to be a first driver then he can fuck off out of this team I genuinely don’t care anymore what the fuck Checo does since he fans are adopting the lh cult vibes and hating Max.

i never really understood why de vries was rated so highly

2018 f2 he finished behind all of the 2019 f1 rookies (and then threw a media tantrum about how despite finishing behind albon and norris, he deserved a f1 seat more than them, which kind of rubbed me wrong at the time)

2019 when he finally got his f2 championship, his closest competition was latifi.

even when he got his fe championship, that year is viewed as a clusterfuck by most fe fans. the qualifying structure was all fucked up and made it near impossible for drivers near the top of the championship standings to qualify well. they fixed that qualifying method the very next season. nyck's teammate won the championship that year; nyck came in 9th, more than 100 points behind his teammate (these results occurred last year, btw).

even when alex had appendicitis. like he beat latifi in f2, it is really not surprising he outqualified him there, nor is it surprising that he managed to earn points given that williams was always expected to do well that weekend given the nature of the track.

maybe as he gains more experience, he will prove me wrong (and i hope he does. i don't necessarily dislike him or want to see him fail, i just think there were a lot more promising drivers who likely deserved this opportunity more than him). but his resume really is not as impressive as one would be led to believe without context. however, max clearly sees something in him since he was so willing to encourage him to go for that seat, so who knows? maybe it's just taking a while for him to adapt to f1. maybe i'm blinded by my own biases and his career has been somewhat impressive. idk i personally just don't get it

I think his performance in Monza and with the help of Max was defo a help for him. All I knew about him was that he won fe whihc like you said was just an absolute shit show.

I do think that Nyck has a very high ego for whatever reason. I mean his interviews after he got the seat was just like him kinda saying he was gonna blow Yuki away and become the first driver but in all fairness Yuki has been good and Nyck hasn’t been close at all.

I think he’ll need to start upping his performance and defo drop his ego down a few pegs cause Marko won’t have an issue dropping him.
