seeing posts like this is making me regret comparing golden kamuy to dungeon meshi bc people will really take indigenous cultures and extract it as fantasy content to consume instead of recognizing that it’s referencing a real culture that has experienced active oppression and eradication

#like im sorry but ryoko kui creating a fantasy world is not the same as satoru noda consulting w ainu associations and language supervisors #its a different genre #there are similar teehee quirky crazy character energy #but trying to compare ‘lore’ is…………….. an interesting take #its dismissive to the reality behind the culture AND to any appropriative insensitivies that an author from a different culture will make
