a couple vignettes from Chandraneel’s backstory

- how he became a college of swords bard

1) him at age 10 hiding in a tall place after being yelled at by his tutors for his failures in his studies. Learning and magic never came easy to him. He knows if his older step-brothers see him cry they’ll bully him even worse so he hides until his twin sister finds him and cheers him up.

2) Chandraneel at around age 13 training with his master, Shantanu. He was the first man in Chandraneel’s life to take an interest in him. Shantanu taught him to channel magic through his swords and encouraged him to keep a journal for writing down his lyrics.

#not ans #my art #dungeons and dragons #illustration #dnd oc #but just as i was looking at these in the post it made me think of Zen xD #chandraneel isn’t based on zen but the back story stuff does seem similar #chandraneel was inspired by freddie mercury from bohemian rhapsody and peter/miles from into the spirerverse with some zuko to taste #shantanu is based of sokka’s sword master though like i just ripped off his backstory including the whole #‘train this prince in swords and we’ll pardon the whole treason thing you did’#my dm is really focusing on the dead sister part of my backstory probably because that was the most fleshed out part i had at the beginning #so i’m fleshing this out to hopefully inspire more use #there’s a couple more moments i want to draw from his backstory that include chandraneel’s second master
