the problem with new trek having main characters and plots and not being a good ensemble show is that disco is killing off characters in huge emotional scenes and i could hardly tell you what their names are

#its like theyre like oh shit we need to kill this person uhhhhhhh lets give them the episode to tell their backstory before killing them #there. perfect. efficient storytelling we packed all you need to care about into 20 minutes so we didnt have to waste any silly time in #other eps 😊#like okay well. that didnt work bc i dont give a shit abt them bc youve literally never talked abt them before #and its just funny cutting to reaction shots bc its like okay for the people i do know when the hell did they talk #and for the ones i dont im like ur showing reactions of people ive never seen to a death of someone i learned about this episode what do u #even think you’re accomplishing here
