This month's charity of choice (by vote on twitter) is @thesatanictemplelosangeles. KAM is proud to support an organization, which despite the overt 'shock value' of their name and iconography, has come up with a clever and successful way to advocate for science by exploiting the legal loopholes afforded to many religious organizations (like the Westboro Baptist Church). Their fight extends to other marginalized groups, like abused schoolchildren, those in need of proper mental health care, and women facing attacks on their corporeal autonomy. We urge you to read up on this important organization during these troubled times. KAM donates 10% of all sales to various charity organizations on a rotating and random basis. The seven fundamental tenets of The Satanic Temple: - One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason. -The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. -One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. -The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend.
