looking at the stepparents subreddit for five minutes should be enough to dissuade any person with children from attempting to date until they’re grown. it is so unkind to bring a random unrelated person into a child's home

#selection of posts from the last few days include—#i hate how much my 7 year old step daughter wants to hold and hug my baby it’s MY baby not hers #now that my stepson is 18 how do i tell him we don’t want him coming over every other week like custody said he has to #i hate when my boyfriend talks about his six year old daughter buying her gifts and taking her on trips. he should be doing that with me #these people hate your children #so much of what they complain about is just normal child behavior (tho children of divorce do often act out which makes sense)#but because these aren’t their children or people they love they just have no tolerance or understanding for these children #and they all circlejerk each other like yes this seven year old whose parents have divorced has a responsibility to act maturely to you #her father's girlfriend. set a boundary—don’t let her come back!#wow i wonder why all of these children are so mentally destroyed #everything would be perfect if he didn’t have kids :( well damn that sucks. die about it i guess or just leave him alone!
